Can you list out more details please?
As in, what does this software exactly do to my phone?
And what techniques are used to improve performance?
And how are these techniques different from other scripts/mods/tools out there?
Any linux client?

No linux client included. But this thread I was copy from Kingo Root site.
And also no included any mod, tweak are in this tool. As same like root file for Gio which is need install from recovery. It just give some files root which included busybox installed ADB shell installed and give best performance from file root.

Then, what is this?

Given the highly doubious background to Kingo and the little information you provide to developers regarding your rooting app, I think it's time for you to stand up and come clean. Remember that even linking to your website was banned from XDA until recently. Nobody is asking you to give up the vulnerability you use to gain root or your other rooting secret.
But most of us would really like to know:
Why is your windows executable so damn large? (~24MB!)
(What exactly is in it that require it to be so, when most others level out ~5MB.)
What exact files are installed on the windows machine used?
What exact files are installed on the phone being rooted?
Who are you and why should anyone trust you?
(Especially when you seem to be afraid to come forward.)
What exact information is being sent to your servers?
Does rooting require an internet connection? (If so why?)
What is your business model, how do you make a living?
(Someone must be paying your website hosting costs etc.)
Until there is some more transparency in this, I will not recommend anyone to use your rooting method, even if I think it look very good.
Best wishes,

Hi,
No like that. After I downloaded that software. I have enable Antivirus and scan it first before install. I did get any virus on that software. I have post every thread of Young, Mini, Gio. There a message from user that he dont say about virus. It's normal. You've misunderstood. Check Official Site too. No virus as I mention it.
And if virus available after check it, i will clean it all.

i just re-rooted my phone from stock, testing the Unroot now
Edit: it seems unroot didnt work, though like mentioned above you would only want to unroot incase of hardware issue or you want t replace the phone wit T-Mo, but thats all good now cause i posted a working Odin image earlier.
So cwm doesn't work for the sidekick 4g

First off thank you for the easy root But now I have an issue, the SD card wont work, looks like it wont find the extension anyone know how to fix this? Ive used many different card and none read but I know all work. Without this I cant do a ROM
Try reformatting the card? Did they work before you rooted? do they work again if you unroot?
They worked before the root, I didn't unroot yet. When you out then in the phone and go to the SD card setting it shows nothing. Just says unavailable. So I can't even format it on the phone. I've formatted them in many ways on the pc too
HTC EVO = my best friend
did you try pulling out the sdcard and putting it back in? does it show a blank sdcard, or no sdcard at all?
need a mirror, site is down
I cannot get # in adb. Only $. Can anyone tell me why? I rooted with this method and have smooth maximus v2.0 and bali kernel v2.0. Any ideas?

I went back to Code Kiem Co'm (http://codekiem.com/2012/02/24/apk-downloader/), read the message of Redphx.
Can someone explain where on the "instructions" website the link for this extension is???
It's not on the Chrome Store.
edit: read the blog post and it was removed, can you please give it to me? I need it because I changed my phone's density and it says app incompatible, so downloading and side loading would be my best source and this seemed like the BEST idea.
Why the hell do people have to ruin good ideas with their piracy crap?

Please keep in mind that the problem comes from ( some ) users, not the extension itself. The extension works as it should. But some people use it to do bad things, and I really don't want that.

Is it possible to FIX those issues and get this back up and running? I would really love this.
But isn't it possible to make backups of paid apps from your phone itself? (I haven't bought any apps either)
So in that sense, your extension wouldn't be increasing piracy at all. And those who wish to pirate would anyway.
This app otherwise would be insanely useful!

Kingo Android Root is a well-designed, aesthetically pleasing application for Windows based computers that forgoes the device specific route, and offers rooting for a lot of Android devices from a variety of manufacturers. Supported phones include the likes of Google Nexus lineup, several HTC devices including HTC One, One X, One V, Droid Eris, Motorola Defy, a number of Samsung phones, popular LG devices and some smartphones from Sony. It offers a true one-click root experience, where you have to just download the application, install it, connect your device and click Root.
There are a few things that you need to be mindful of. When connecting your device, you need to have USB Debugging enabled in Android settings. There’s no requirement for pre-installed device drivers, as the software will take care of that for you. In fact, it will give you the Root option only after the drivers have been properly configured. Past that, all you have to do is hit the Root button, and let the application work its magic.
The app pushes SuperSU binaries which are slightly outdated, but get instantly updated to the new version thanks to Google Play. However, it won’t install a custom recovery, so that part you’ll have to take care of manually. Kingo Android Root supports Android versions up to 4.3.
Homepage: http://www.kingoapp.com/index.htm http://www.kingoapp.com/android-root.htm
How to Use the Kingo Android Root One-Click Tool
Step 1. Download the Kingo Android Root windows application and install it on your Windows desktop.
Step 2. Once the installation is finished, run the application and connect the device to the computer with USB cable to start the process. Now the application will install the latest drivers on your PC.
Step 3. This will take some time to install the drivers. Once the drivers are installed on your PC, you will see a new screen on your desktop with your device name and "ROOT" button. See the screenshot below:
Step 4. Hit the ROOT Button from the app screen to begin the root process on your device.
Step 5. Be patient. It will take some time to finish the process. Once the operation is completed, you will see the “Root Succeeded” message on your screen.
Your device should now be rooted. With the help of this application you can unroot your device as well. All you have to do is select the Unroot button and follow the onscreen instructions. For more help, check the application FAQ section Mod Edit here too..
**None of this is my material. This is the work of the Kingo team.**

It's unclear what was causing the slowness, but after a while it finally all went through and my phone is now rooted. Thanks!
I did have to restart the App several times while it was downloading the update. That also seemed to be going very slowly. My download speeds wouldn't go above 100kb/s (consistently) and after a while the download will stop at a certain percentage. I would then have to restart the app, and then it would continue from the percentage but then stop at another percentage.
I have 25+ MBps connection, so I don't think it was my internet. It could have been the laptop though for slowness on both ends, downloading and communicating with the phone. I would have to look into it further though.
Anyways, thanks for responding to me!
Did you use any other devices via USB port? I know when I did mine I had to delete my USB drivers that way it would go faster and not unmount my gs4 all the time.

WARNING: FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK
As always I am not responsible for any damage you do to your device.
This is for folks to explore at this point and possible develop any root and/or bootloader exploits. Of course if you have an emergency this might be nice to have too.
This should ideally recover your phone back to stock, however, it is unlikely that this will reset any counters, e-fuses, and/or q-fuses that may trip due to tinkering with the phone.

Show them what you got XDA developers!
Next steps for those who are going to try to find a root method:
1. Download tar
2. Find start addresses and offsets
3. Analyze with your favorite analysis program
4. Check for kernel source
5. Check if kernel is patched for all known vulnerabilities
6. Start irc channel for galaxy s5

Thank you for outlining this as I wouldn't even know where to start.
Having said that - we have a channel on freenode: http://webchat.freenode.net/ - #SGS5
Any guides to get me started on looking at addresses and offsets. I know I am capable, just have to learn what I am looking for and what tool to use (Windows preferably). I am guessing that we are looking for empty space in the memory that can be written to?
A few of the devs I know who could crack this don't want anything to do with a Verizon SGS5. The advice I get is go buy an dev or unlocked version. I can't necessarily blame them as they get crapped on when they put lots of work into something like this. Especially with little to no payout.

Root and Recovery
I have very little experience rooting devices. This I was hoping to make my first. The download booster along with the camera were major selling points but Big Red removed the download booster. I was able to find the download booster through an alternate launcher, but can't change the mobile network type to get it to function.
Hopefully there will be a root so I can use the tethering and use the download booster.
Why in hell was this moved to general ?
It is the very first step in making a rom, rooting, or finding a way to weasel in a boot method.
It is everything to do with development, and nothing to do with general.

I moved the thread some time ago, as I personally do not believe uploading of stock firmware is development. I personally feel all stock firmware should be maintained in a single thread in general.
This "noob mod" has rooted or unlocked (as in found the vulnerabilities and written the exploit, not just running someone else's exploit) more devices than anyone in this thread, and most people in this community.
Pretty sure I know what the first steps are in researching and developing exploits, probably more so than anyone posting here.
This kind of insult and behavior is one of the reasons people with the ability to develop these exploits are stepping away from doing so publicly. Continuing this kind of behavior, were going to start ending up with fewer and fewer people willing to work on such projects.
Good luck on your endeavor.

Please talk to your Devs again...since the payout (even though I know all won't, but I would still expect 75%) is now almost $9,000 to find root...and I'm sure no one would crap on them for this!

[Question]How do I update my android with a custom rom?[Android]

My device is a Samsung J1
Version J111M
Android 5.1.1
Hi, I'm using the google translator for this. My story is this before this year. I used Virtual Xposed, this is an application that is used to clone applications. Well, when I installed it again on my device these days, the application did not allow me to clone. applications, when I used to add applications, he told me: Virtual Xposed has stopped.
I installed busybox in my device to see if it was fixed, but even so, I looked for an application to grant permissions in Android 5.1.1 but when I gave the switch the permission was removed only, also the application told me:
Opps compatibility problems: It seems that this device does not support the change of permissions through ADB, this means that the Permissions Manager could not work correctly
That's what he told me.
In summary: the xposed virtual application tells me that it stopped when I want to clone. The permission you request in Android 5.1.1 can not be granted, so if there is a way to update my Android or solve the problem of cloning, I will feel satisfied, thanks in advance.
PD: I am willing to do anything to be able to use virtual xposed no matter what the device has the bricket.

Yes, specifically the ROM ReHybrid uploaded to XDA and Rami Rodriguez
No permissions = no root
installing supersu apk is not the same.
Copying su binary without installing is not the same.
Been a while but chainfire maker of supersu used to host a script with binary and apk that you could sideload.

My dear, I rooted my phone, the problem is not that the application does not ask me ROOT, is that there is a permission in Android 6.0 I can give it but in my phone 5.1.1 does not ask me so I can not give and that does not let me clone applications in Virtual Xposed.
What I ask is an application that allows me to grant permissions without the application requesting it, that is, granting more permissions than the application requests when installing, and probe Xprivacy and it does not work, also Permission Manager ROOT, but as the application It is not optimized for Lollipop when I give it permission, it is deleted only.
If there is a ROM that is used for my device and it is updated, it is a CyanogenMOD but apparently the WIFI does not work, so it does not let me use WIFI, therefore it is unusable this ROM has all the interface of Android 6.0

If you want a video where you see the problem of mine I will do so to provide more information to see if it is solved or tell me how to solve it.
I'm not your dear, sounds like you and the definition of root need to catch up, I'll leave you too it. Thank you for rude ungrateful sarcasm, you are welcome for free timely concise advice. I'm blocking you and unsubscribing, don't ever mouth off again but I know you will. Try it away from the computer next time.

At no time I was sarcastic, if the google translator translated it badly because it is not my fault, I just told you that my device is roooted
I do not know where the hell you got that I was being sarcastic if I never put anything in that way, just explained the problem of my phone, you talk as if you were important trying to make the other look like a stupid but man, you're even more stupid
I will leave the topic open to see if someone provides better help.

Magisk?
lol easy tiger @op don't want your vocab to run out.
ps I did help you. I told you that you do not have root and that is what is meant by no permission. Then you went hardcore defensive nerd rage. You are a great contributor and valued member of this board, please don't leave. And I use the word member with all seriousness.
