I'm thinking of getting the droid maxx on verizon. I thought it already had the 4.4.2 update? I'm seeing that it's on 4.4? And how is the unlocking bootloader and rooting side on this device?
Edit: I just realized I posted this on the wrong thread. I apologize..

Hi there I'm in a bit of confusion. I have a original Droid Razr that has the Android version 4.0.4. The phone is rooted with droidrazrroot and has the superuser app and Bionic Bootstrapp app as well. So I just bought a clean Droid Razr Maxx HD and I popped sim card in and everything worked fine. After looking into the apps that were on the phone I noticed both superuser app and Bionic Bootstrapp app were on the phone. So i immediately tired to see if the hotspot would work. And it did. No message came up saying some charges might apply..?? So is my phone rooted? Did it the root transfer to my new Droid Razr Maxx HD?
Here is another question I have for the pros.. I also checked to see what Android version was running on my Droid Razr Maxx HD and it was 4.0.4. So now im really confused. Shouldn't it be the new Jelly Bean? Also my Droid Razr Maxx HD is asking to update. Should I do that or will it brick? I guess bottom line is that Id like my new phone to be rooted like my other one. Any help on what I should do would be greatly appreciated.
Hey guys, I have an Atrix HD with an unlocked bootloader but Im trying to help out my friend who has a RAZR HD...I hadnt realized that Moto released an OTA that patched the bootloader exploit. It seems to me that new RAZR HD users are back to Safestrap, but are there any good rom built for safestrap? I was at least able to get him rooted with the newer version of Motochopper.
So what are all the people with locked bootloaders doing nowadays?

You can try Nexesque and Batakang. Probably some others, as long as they don't flash a non-stock kernel. Your friend's options are a bit limited, but it's definitely better than nothing.
I had a droid RAZR maxx HD with PAC ROM on it and was in love, and with this phones hardware and the updates to PAC I feel like it would be a thing of dreams, but I would need unlocked boot loader and so I am wary on taking updates as I am worried an exploit will come out for the old version after I upgrade, even though they aren't posting any security patches that doesn't mean they aren't changing it a little. Anyways I am just looking for other peoples opinion on whether I should go through work to unroot update then reroot and hope for an exploit.

He said he HAD a razr he doesn't anymore. I wouldn't be concerned about taking updates the boot loader is probably never getting unlocked. But if it did right now the moto x can downgrade to 4.2.2 from 4.4 so I guess we would be able to as well.
So I would just have to fxz back if an exploit comes out?

I'm not sure it is that simple I haven't really looked into it but I know it can be done on the moto x it is actually part of the root process at this point for the moto x.
I recently rooted my Motorola Razr M XT905 phone. I have not yet unlocked the bootloader as I have not had a reason yet. I cannot seem to find ANY roms any where for my phone (Aussie version). All the roms are for the US variant XT907. I was wondering if anyone knew of any site that I could get roms for my phone. OR if anyone has install a xt907 rom on the xt905 and had no problems.
Thanks!

Hi, I also have the same query, I have rooted and unlocked the bootloader but not sure what to do next. Any help would be appreciated! cheers!
I have been reading and coming up with conflicting answers. Can I or can I not get Lollipop or higher on my Maxx XT1080M? I see tutorials on how to do it but then I read that unless you are lower then 4.0, or have a build below SU6-7.7 you can't do it. Also something about a root not holding after reboots.
I am on 4.4.4 and SU6-7.7
Any help would be appreciated
i have the same phone but not unless you can get root and have the correct ROM
Motorola was going to put lollipop on it but canceled it
