[Q] Custom ROM Recommendations - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! I have been switching between many ROMs in the last weeks, unable to the decide which one I should go for. I see someone have asked this question before, but the posts are pretty old. The rom i am looking for should be fast, battery friendly (if possible) and have some cool and useful functions. Thanks for all help

Well, I'm on AICP and I find it the most feature filled ROM out here
I guess as long as this topic doesn't turn into best ROM thing, it's fine...

Do a nandroid backup....and start flashing and see for yourself. Everyone's taste and needs are different. 12 people could answer you with 12 different answers.
XDA is about experimenting and trying things for ourselves.
Good luck!!

for Simple or minimalistic experience, go for Purity or Slim Kat or Liquid Smooth or VanirAOSP
for feature full experience, go for PAC or Carbon or C or Mahdi or SOKP
All The Best

they really dont allow these kinds of threads on xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/best-rom-kernel-threads-t2477889
if you want to find a good rom for yourself, go to the development sections, read the rom ops, and try them out. thats the only way that youre gonba be able to find the perfect rom for yourself and your needs. as someone else already said, as many people are here as many different rom recommendations youll get. theres no one perfect rom.

As stated above, try out different ROM's and decide yourself. The answer to this question is always subjective. You are the only one who knows what works best for you.

Good ICS or job rom

I'm not asking for the best of the best or anything like that, I have read some of the ops for the ROMs, now I'm asking for opinions on what would be a good stable ROM, one that doesn't have to be updated for a while. This is for my wife, and I really don't want to flash 50 times to find one that makes a good dd. So if you all would be so kind please post your opinions and the ROMs, and explain pros and cons of them...
Thanks for the help.
What is "stable" for someone might not be what you consider as stable. Unfortunately only way to know is your very own testing. Thread locked

[Q] suggestions For the most [email protected] ROM?

This is my first nexus 5 coming from a g2 .. I see tons of Roms to choose from but for the sake of taking days to try them all and read thru every changelog ...who has a suggestion for the most stable and customizable ROM by popular demand so far .. ?Theee go to ROM that most are stickn with..
Something as good as or custom as deviant development does with there twiz Roms over on the Samsung side
Best ROM threads are against the rules, as stated in the sticky at the top of this section. Everyone has different needs, and while one ROM may satisfy someone else's, it may not serve your purposes.
Try a few out and see which one works best for you. If you're looking for the most popular ones just take a look at the dev threads with many views/comments. Also lots can be learnt by reading the op of ROM threads to see what features they have to offer.

Highly recommend all of them by our great XDA Developers! Happy Flashing!!
If your looking for the most popular ROM you can check the post counts. By no means does that mean it's the "Best".

[Q] In your opinion, what is the most stable and battery friendly AOSP rom right now

I've been on CM11 nightlies for a while and I'm getting tired of the horrible battery life and MMS not working 90% of the time. So I thought the other day "why am I even on KK? There aren't really and KK specific features I use that I'm aware of"
So I'm looking for a more stable and battery friendly ROM, still AOSP, but I would be willing to step back to jelly bean. What do you recommend?
These types of threads are generally not allowed on XDA, they tend to become a troll fest and cause flaming and arguing. I'm going to close this thread, but give you some advice.
Each user has a different experience with their own devices. Two people can have the exact same device, exact same ROM, exact same settings and have VERY different results. This is one of those times when you need to just try it out for yourself and make your own opinion about what works best for you.
Good luck, and I hope you find what you're looking for:good:

[Q] [Need Advice] Best Daily Driver Rom for GS3?

Okay, deferring to the wisdom of the elders on this question. I've been all over the place with ROMs, TW and AOSP, but I'm heading to college in a few weeks and I'm looking to "settle down" with a ROM and ride it out until my upgrade in November. Is there a clear winner out there right now in terms of stability/battery life that still has some cool features? I'm very minimalistic and I don't need to be able to customize every single facet of the UI, but rooted stock is a bit too dull for me! I'm on CleanRom 8.2 atm and it's good but not great, I'm really looking for the ultimate daily driver ROM and kernel, please advise a lowly serf such as myself.
I don't believe the rules of XDA allow a "what is the best ROM" thread, so you may not get a simple answer (and to be honest, people have different priorities in what they want or need from a ROM, so what may be best for them may not be best for you).
That said, perhaps the best approach would be to look through the Android Development and Original Android Development topics and look at both the early posts (the OP, plus a page or two after), and the last page or two to get an sense of the install, the features, and the level of support you might get with each ROM. You will also be able to eliminate ROM's that are no longer supported (eg, I believe Scott is no longer supporting CR, so even though it was/is a great ROM, perhaps not the best to consider).
Also google the ROMs to see if there are any YouTubes showing the install and use of the ROM. There are many good reviews of ROMs and seeing them in action is a big help.
Last, a number of ROMs are being discussed on Google+ so you may want to check out that resource too.
And, it may also be a good idea to actually try the ROMs on your phone. ROMs can act differently on your phone than they might on mine.
Hope this helps!!
My recommendation is read all the rom threads as much a you can and experiment by trying them out. "Best of" rom threads are frowned upon because it generally discourages people to read and learn. I am going to close this and trust you will be able to find what you are looking for with some diligence and have fun trying. Thats what makes this site great!:good:

The one that works best for you. I would suggest reading the threads in the original development or Android development forums, and pick the one that looks best for you.
This thread should likely be moved to the general or Q&A section, or removed entirely...best rom threads seem to amount to a load of subjectivity.

Actually, they asked what was the "best customizable" rom, which means the rom with the most features capable of customizing to their needs. I don't see why everyone on here has to be so negative towards people that are just looking for help. The answer (given due research) would not be "subjective" because each rom has a certain number of features strictly dealing with customization. This would lead to a very definitive answer. What's the old saying??? If you can't say something nice (in this case helpful would be a more operative word), why say anything at all?
As for an answer to the OP: For kitkat and below, the most customizable one would be PAC rom. Check it out. It's a combination of the features of Paranoid Android, AOKP and Cyanogenmod. I think you may enjoy it for personalization and outstanding battery life due to their tweaked kernel and performance settings.
Micmars didn't want to be offence. He just try to this forum stays as clear as possible. Question has to be moved to Question section.

Still "best" and "ROM" Iin the same sentence always starts up a riot. Most customization within a ROM would have been better to say... Just saying good day people

I agree with "best" but the most customizable custom rom does exist regardless the stability and so on...
