Guys I just wanted to report that my Gtab is up and rockin with everthing I need to do work, play, etc..
I am running VeganTab 5 Beta, pershoots 2.6.32.28 - VFPv3_FP - Gtab/Zpad kernel, i was able to get vpn connections working last night (cisco vpn), I did the calibration screen fix and this made my tab seem brand new!
I got cifs running, I am excited!
I need to say thank you to all the Dev's out there that work hard every day to make all this possible.
On question, how do you get usb keyboards to work with this kernel.
Ed
Just plug it in... I have had no issues with USB keyboards.

i plug in a usb stick and it works
Just tested an old HP USB keyboard have latest vegan and Pershoot kernel and no issues...Do you have USB Debugging on or Off? Try wiping your Data (will lose all apps make sure you make a backup) and/or Cache partition in CWM

Should debugging be on or off for this to work?
I rebooted and its working now.
here is a thought on this, I had the tab connected via USB for adb with debug on, when I disconnected both USB icons remained active for some reason (debugging and storage) maybe something didn't unhook?
after a reboot keyboard works fine.
also had another small issue, using vpn connection (get-a-robot-vpnc) after I disconnected the vpn I had to shut down wireless and start it back up again for it to work without the vpn.

I have the same problem with Vegan5.1 and Peshoot Kernel that I can't clean disconnect the Cisco VPN. I just disable the wifi, and re-enable to kill the vpn.
Noticed it happened again tonight, my kid unplugged my keyboard to play angry birds, then when i plugged it back in it didnt work.
I could not connect to my home network without restarting wireless.
these are no great problems by any means just putting it out there, I also cant post in the dev forum yet =)
I'm running Vegan-Tab Beta 5.1, and had trouble with VPN being able to connect. I installed pershoot 2.6.32.29 and not VPN connects. However it pukes out after a couple of seconds. This seems to be the same issue everyone is reporting with pptp client on android. I do have encryption enabled, as this is the only thing my company supports. And I'm connecting to a Windows VPN host. Consequently my unrooted droid phone also exhibits this same behavior. And there is a google code bug for this 4607. Does someone have a work around, or an idea on how to fix this on my gtab? I have to use encryption, and that's what seems to be broken.
Thanks
I've looked and saw something similar but don't remember the search criteria. History: I once had a Chinese tablet that worked as desired. I used a USB WLAN adapter that overrode the internal wifi and worked. Is there something I can do to have my XOOM recognized my external usb wifi adapter. (I am rooted with ICS 4.03 with a OTG adapter)

I believe the information you are looking for in in the Xoom Android Development section. The tread is called "Tegra Hardware and Feature Implementation ". Drivers and further enhancements to the kernel can be found on the first post.
That was informative, now to figure out how to install it. I am just getting started doing this stuff.
External USB Wifi
First I don't want to do any testing on network security, I barely know how to turn on my XOOM.
What I looking for is a way to use my external USB Wifi adapter with my XOOM to increase the range of reception when I'm on the lake too far from my home wifi.
I want to be able to disable the internal wifi and then attach the external USB Antenna.
Developers, I know where the donate button is. Just need some help with this issue.
I don't want to install BT5.
Or if this has all ready been done please give me the link because after hours of searching, I can't seem to find the solution.

I am interested in your results....did you get it to work?
No Joy
I currently have the Samsung Galaxy S2 which supports USB OTG, I'm trying to figure out a way to enable ANT+ for fitness apps. Their are several USB adapters such as the Suunto Movestick Mini. I was thinking I could hook up this usb stick and enable ANT+. Does anyone know if this is possible? I currently have ICS installed.
Has anyone done this on other USB OTG enabled phones?
anyone know of anything?
ANT+ via USB OTG
There was an officail anouncment about this from the ANT people the other day. With a siutable phone it should be now possible. I have made a release of my IpBike app today which in theory should work but I don't have a suitable device to test with so would be very interested in anyone getting it to work.
I would put some suitble linkes here but it looks like I can not. I have added some details to iforpowell.com

I've just upgraded my SGS2 to ICS and connected a Suunto Movestick Mini Ant+ adapter using an USB OTG cable in order to be able to use my fitness sensors (HR belt and speed/cadence sensors from Garmin) and it works like a charm thanks to the great softwares created by ifor.
But be careful because after rooting my phone the new kernel was unable to handle the ANT USB driver and therefor it stopped working. After a few attempts i found that using a Siyah kernel (currently v4.0.1) will restore the ability to use again my Ant adapter and sensors.
Several people have mentioned that they have host mode connectivity problems. USB devices that are connected to the tablet, via an OTG cable or a USB host adapter, are not (or not always) seen by the tablet.
Some people mentioned that the problem started only after the upgrade to 4.1.2.
In my particular case -- stock rom but rooted -- it works immedeately after reboot but stops working sometime later, a strong clue that it is a software (driver) problem.
This has been going on for a while now. I'm wondering: what is the current status? Did anyone complain to Samsung and got a useful answer? Did anyone send the tablet back as defective?
I'm trying to get my Xbox 360 wireless controller and wireless receiver (Chinese knockoff that works perfect on PC) I had laying around to work with my OPO. Sadly this has been harder then I expected. I have ran into the following problem. After I reboot my phone and the receiver is connected through a OTG USB cable, my controller is connected to my OPO and I can move in menus and play a SNES game for example. The problem however is that this connection remains for a very short amount of time, it seems that the phone stops seeing the USB device that is connected. When trying other USB devices this problem does not occur, I tried a USB stick and a USB mouse. Once the connection is lost the only way to regain connection is to reboot the phone.
I have no idea why this is happening
I've tried many settings and tested a lot of stuff:
I followed the steps in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792531
I also messed around with other product ID settings related to xbox 360 controllers: http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.ids
On my Windows 7 PC I used USBview.exe to see with which ID the receiver/controller combination was identified which was: 045e 0291 (Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows)
I used the app USB Device Info to see if my OPO was detecting anything via the OTG cable. As mentioned above after a few seconds ~ < 1min it just disappears.
I've searched in general with Google and specifically on XDA and the OPO forums but I've not found a similar problem with regards to the disconnection problem.
Anyway, if someone here has experience with wireless xbox 360 controller on the OPO or USB devices that disappear. Help would be appreciated!
I think I might have found why this will not work correctly, the default kernel of the OPO doesn't have xpad.ko.

The problem is that there are no drivers for the Xbox 360 control pad.
You need xpad.ko for the controller to work and ff-memless.ko for the vibrators.
Unfortunately these have to be built for the kernel you are running and as far as I know nobody has built any for the nexus 5 yet

This OPO kernel has xpad.ko included, I might check it out and see what happens.
