Hello! I unlocked bootloader succesfully, flashed philz recovery and everything was ok until i flashed latest CM snapshot (previously was on stock vanilla). Now im stuck at google logo and cant do anything! Anyone got any idea whats going on?
P.S. It seems i cant get into recovery, tried holding the power button, but phone just tries rebooting. Same for holding Volumeup+down+power...

I'm guessing you didn't wipe everything before flashing CM??
1. Switch off your phone completely.
2. Hold down Power+Vol. Down till you enter the bootloader.
3. Go to recovery and wipe everything(system, data, cache, dalvic)
4. Flash the the rom.zip and gapps.zip and reboot!

so, i just want to flashed a new rom, then i reboot in recovery, then i restored my data. at some point i saw a text shows cache.img was not found. then i reboot the system, the phone just stuck on the boot animation. please help. urgent
Which ROM did you flash? Did you flash gapps?
What are you doing when you say get into recovery and restore data? Are you trying to restore last ROM's /data from recovery?
If yes, then that's the reason you are stuck at boot screen. Factory reset &flash the ROM again and let us know if you are able to boot.

i was flashing slimbean beta 2. i flashed it, it did boot, then i tried to restore my data (not advanced restore). still don't know how to get into recovery mode.

Remove &replace battery. Press volume up button, then press power button along with the volume button. Keep holding till you get the fast not screen. Use volume to scroll and select recovery. Press power button to get into recovery.

Hi Guys, I'm in a bit of a panic with my Nexus.
Looked in my pocked yesterday and the phone was randomly in a boot loop, just getting up to the google logo, then rebooting.. this was weird as the phone was working throughout the day. The day before I had installed Faux v5 (and I have cataclysms rom)..

to rever to stock image.
I run the flash-all.bat (using method 1 from Post1), which seems to complete successfully (writes to the device and it reboots a few times), but after this the phone gets stuck at the Google logo,
I cant get to the final two steps (which is wipe data/factory data reset), because in the step before where I select recovery, it just boots back to the google logo - no recovery. It will stay there all day, unless I hold power & volume down, then I can get back to the bootloader.
Since this failed (I have flashed the flash-all batch twice using different usb ports... but no joy.
If I run the fastboot device info, - it correctly shows my bootloader is unlocked...
I have tried to relock it, but hit the same problem, (if I run the fastboot boot c:\twrp.img etc) - it just wont boot into a recovery..
I am at a loss.. any help would be greatly appreciated...
I have also tried flashing a custom recovery (twrp & cwm), and I have the same problem with both.. they flash, but then I can get to the bootloader, but cant launch a recovery.. just gets stuck in a bootloop...

open up the recovery menu (power + vol up)
wipe cache
The problem I am having is I cant get into recovery.
I get into fastboot mode, I then hit volume up twice (to change from start > to recovery >).
I then hit power. But instead of a red! I get the Google Logo.. and I am back where I started.
Volume up & power does nothing, all I can do is Vol down & power, then I am back at the bootloader.. no recovery..

I'm trying to install a cm rom in my xt926, I have the bootloader and, aparently, I can flash properly the custom recovery, but when I try to reboot onto recovery it doesn't work, shows the motorola logo and, after 1 or 2 minutes, reboot normally, and I can´t enter the recovery to flash the cm rom... Anyone can help me? I don't know what else to do... A lot of thanks.

I have this Problem as well! Stock KK on XT926 build 183.46.10.XT926.Verizon.en.US. I've tried all the methods I could find.

Is your bootloader unlocked? If it is and you can really flash recovery while in fastboot mode - what do you do after that? Reboot the phone into Android and then try to reboot into recovery? If you're doing that, then that's the problem.
You need to reboot to recovery straight from fastboot, otherwise the stock system deletes the custom recovery. When you flash the recovery - unplug the cable and just press the power button once and the phone will turn off. Then hold Volume UP + Power and the boot menu will show up and then you select recovery and you should be good to go

I've found the solution! I've flashed the wrong recovery. My stock rom is kit kat 4.4.2, this recovery works very fine

Hi there, having just the old casual phone crisis. I was running cyanogenmod 12.1 for awhile and decided to finally upgrade to a nougat 7.1 build.
I tried using this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/development/rom-dark-rom-t3492150 using adb sideload as I had tried a earlier one and the gapps messed up so I wasn't able to put twrp back on the phone. The rom said it had installed successfully but I wasn't able to sideload gapps, I kept getting an error status 255. I went ahead and just tried to load the rom without gapps and see if I could install it slowly through APKs. I managed to get past the initial android load and the services started up, and it got in an endless crash loop because the phone service wouldn't start. So I went to try and flash another rom and was going to delete the cache. When I went to delete the cache the phone hung for about an hour so I tried to just reset it into recovery mode again.
Now when I hold the power button and volume down key to into fastboot mode I can. I have access to the initial screen with the four options, but when I try to start recovery mode or start the phone my screen goes black, and it'll flash the dead android symbol with the error saying unable to mount cache, it only flashes it for like half a second then goes black and repeats every 10-15 seconds.
I tried holding power down, doing volume up, and letting go to do a hard factory reset but it does nothing. I also can't seem to access the adb sideloading anymore, I'm very scared that it's hard bricked, is there anything I can do at all to fix this.
Flash a new version of the recovery via fastboot. Then do a full wipe. After that install the ROM only! Reboot recovery (not system but recovery) then reflash the ROM (no wipe) and add everything else. Hope this helps you out.
The phone may not boot the ROM without wiping data if installing a 7.1 ROM over a 5.1.1 ROM.
I've been using lineage OS rooted and TWRP installed, my phone was slowing down, so i boot into recovery and cleared all data and copied ROM and gapp files and flashed them, then it rebooted but it went again to recovery only, ever since, stuck in TWRP recovery and even if i tried to go to fastboot via pressing vol up and power button its going into TWRP, Anyone knows how to fix this
