I recently got my camera lens replaced from the micromax service centre and ever since that day my phone camera is plagued with dust and dirt getting stuck inside the camera lens. I got it cleaned 3 times from the service centre but they keep saying that we can't do anymore. Is there anyway/tutorial, wherein I can open the camera lens and clean it myself? Or perhaps a permanent solution to this ordeal? Any help at this point is appreciated.
Regards,
Aditya

Can you give me a step by step procedure?
>first remove back cover and battery
>then unscrew 9 screw
>remove back frame
>here your lens(attached with frame)
>there is 1 screw near the lens
do securely
Thanks I have same problem of dust under camera lens cover.

Dont worry.. saharsh111 gave the right procedure. Just make sure you dont loose any screws and use a soft cloth to clear the lens and the protective cover..
micromax service centre is always giving nonsense answers. they are fraud.
Major fix seal is broken now it will fix only replace new one and mmx service is suck

Hey guys,
I was always a little disapointed about the picture quality of my camera. When I looked at the lens, I could see some dust, but it was on the inside.
Yesterday I found this video, which explains how to replace basicly every part of the device.
So I just removed the cover and was able to carefully clean the lens from the inside, and bam, nice pictures again .
Just FYI, for those who have the same problem.

I faced same problem recently as my camera's shots were poor. Then I realised it must be the glass protection over it that is tampered. Got it sorted out at a service center. Anyway this video you pointed out is ideal and explains how to replace each and every part. Ofcourse warranty saves you a lot of trouble, this is for out of warranty servicing.
I too tried disassembling my phone , but I couldn't go beyond those 6 screws because the black case (which in the video is removed by a pick) wouldn't come out...tried every thing
Even broke my nails in the process .
So I have to live with this ****y dusty lens
Is there any other way ?
It is pretty hard to get it off. You need patience and the plastic tool. I used a screwdriver and damaged my chrome surrounding . So just be very carefull and follow the instructions in the video. It worked for me .
something that you cannot see in the video is that in order for screen to pop out you have to push it out pressing the speaker behind
Useful
A very useful video. Thanks for sharing
awsum
perfect thanks for sharing this video but i i would rather go to the service center to do the mentioned work...its may damage your device if you are a bit irresponsible

Yep, you really need to be careful.
I scrached my chrome frame while opening it. But it was already a little damaged before, so I don't really care
i got a wire broke when i'm disassembling the phone
even motherboard i removed
that wire is related with signal
i got panicked luckily i found the only shop in my area that sell that wire eventhough it for s2
so the conclusion disassemble properly without blaming anyone for your own mistake

I used a microfibre cloth with a little glass cleaner. Just dont spray it in the device but in the cloth instead, and always be very carefull.
But where is the video....

I had the same problem with my previous NEXUS 4.
Since it was imported i gave it to an unooffical shop which completly destroyed it >_<
On top of that they refused to repair my phone. NOw the motherboard of nexus 4 is dead!
Contact customer service of OnePLus and get it cleaned/repaired or simply replaced by them.
I have always neglected the bad customer care service from Opo before buying.
But now I am stuck :crying:

Try small can pressure air blower for keyboards, etc--blow around lens. If you are very good with phone you can take off back cover, could be there is one safety lens covers entire camera unit--then you can blow under the safety lens--IF THERE IS ONE. You can also get more pressure at gas station or air compressor, but I'd be very careful to not blow in micropone, speakers, parts that can be destroyed.
I have Galaxy S4 I9500, recently my device drops in water and not working correctly. That's why I open it and dry by heat air gun but after assembling each part my front camera of device is not working, when I open camera app and switch front camera it pop up "camera failed"...
I tried many times to correct front camera by opening the device....but didn't work.
So, I want to replace the front camera to new one (or even second hand if anyone have)
Please suggest me from where I could purchase this front camera (with original quality and best price....)
{Forgive me for my bad english}
I don't think you can buy the front camera only.
Your best chance is to buy a GT-I9500 with a broken display and take the camera from that one.

Thanks for my help......Now I will replace my camera.....
When you drop a electronic device on water the most recommended is putting/bathing each part of it in isopropyl alcohol (100% alcohol and let it rest there for some days to remove the water and prevent oxidation.
Well now it's late I guess.

(Don't worry for your late response its ok for me.....)
So you were able to replace the front camera? Please let us know.
Thanks.
I just replaced the back glass and noticed that the auto focus does not longer work. The camera just won't focus at all.
I tried to cover the 3 dots at the back but it didn't fix the problem. Still very blurry picture at any distance.
What went wrong?
Ps: does the camera move in order to focus? Because I think there is a tiny piece of glass between the camera and the plastic edge behind the replaced back glass. I tried to get it out before installing the glass but instead of removing it I somehow managed to dig it deeper. My guess is it could block the camera from moving.

If the glass was broken and autofocus isn't working, chances are there is glass inside the camera. Parts of the camera do have to move in order to autofocus correctly. I would recommend taking off the glass, turning the phone upside down(so the camera is facing the ground), and hitting the phone hard( but not breakig it obviously.) This may even work without taking the glass off, you'll just have to try it. This would hopefully knock some of those pieces of glass free.

BTW, this could also be caused if the glass is dirty on the side with the camera.

Do you have a link for the rear glass you purchased? I broke mine about 2 months ago and every replacement I've bought is not oem, it has adhesive covering most of the back instead of just on the edges, also there's a hole cut out for one of the sensors when it shouldn't be.
As for your issue, they "windows" for the camera or sensors might be dirty, or even a spec of dust throwing off the auto focus.

Lol I wouldn't recommend banging it. Would probably have better success using tweezers and compressed air to remove whatever is there.

Banging it would probably be the best option. If there's tiny shards of glass in your camera your not just going to get it all out with tweezers. Compressed air could work, but if you don't have compressed air banging it (aka lightly tapping the top of the screen to get the glass out) is probably your best bet.
Did OP ever resolve this issue? Dealing with the same thing now...
Same issue for me. Any idea how to make focus works again? I have dirty lens message from time to time... Is focus in lens or laser near the lens?
I'm having the same issue.
