Hi all. I recently synced my Facebook contacts and it replaced/added contact pictures with their profile pictures. But the resolution is very bad. Blurred and pixilated images. Why?

my google account has contacts with saved profile pictures. google talk recognizes this and shows pictures, but my contacts does not. what is going on?
can't get this to work with facebook sync either.....
I don't have any pics for my google account but the facebook pictures all got transfered over on both ROMS this and the stock captivate rom

I'm having the problem with Google contacts too. If I add a new picture to my google account it will sync right too my phone but the ones I added before using Odin one click will not sync. Is there a way to force the pics to sync?
I tried to change some info on a contact thinking that might force a sync. The info updated but not the pic.

So the facebook-app can sync the profile pictures of all my friends which is all neat and stuff, but it only saves the thumbnail - this looks horrible when i call people when using ICS (since the picture covers most of the screen).
Is there any mod to that app, or some other app that can sync the fullsize profile picture of my friends from facebook?
(no, manually editing the pictures through google contacts is not an option since i want the pictures to update whenever my friends change their profile pic)
I would need something like that too.
There are apps like HD caller ID, but there you must add a picture for everyone manually.

HaxSync is only for ICS, and Facebook contacts sync didn't work for me.

it can sync different sizes of the pictures, and you can choose to sync only contacts or all facebook friends

Coming from a HTC One X+ with Sense 5, contacts are linked to Facebook/Twitter etc which is really useful and a feature I really miss with pure Android.
So, in light of this I have two questions:
Can it be done with stock Android without a 3rd party app?
If not, is there a better solution than Contacts+? Whilst this app is ok, it's not as refined as I'd like.
Still love the phone though, by far the best I've had! If I can solve this contact linking issue then I'll be happy as Larry!
I use HaxSync for syncing Facebook contacts
For Facebook, I use the sync contacts option from Friendcaster. I don't actually use the app otherwise.
Thanks guys, do either of these apps change anything in the contacts? I.e. Can you see Facebook statuses and things when you go into a contact or does it just keep the profile photo synced?

Yes, it will sync statuses as well.
Is there any way to sync facebook profile photos in to the phone gallary ??? like google photos has or seems to be taking place of gallary app.
Hm i dont know but you can save it from Facebook.
Open the profil photo an use menu button an save the photo to gallary

If I understood your question correctly and you wanna sync your Facebook friend profile pictures with your contact pictures on your phone, I personally use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.syncme.syncmeapp and find it quite good, it does what it's supposed to.

I'm using CM12.1 on my OnePlus One, I have Google and CM accounts synced with my phone, but somehow image as the Owner user is still the default as if there isn't any photo. I'm uploadijg a screenshot to let you understand better.
Is there a way to sync or add a photo to user account?

In contacts I have my GMail email address with my photo synced, but it isn't showing up as the Owner image.

As @Blu8 suggested, in your contact app, you should see on the top list (ie the first contact on your list) a "Me" account.
Then change the photo of this primary contact, and you will see it as Owner picture.
note : I remember also that when Google+ app is installed and set up, it changed the owner contact. But don't know if still true. As CM12.1 user and flash addict, I always set my owner picture as above.
