Optimus F5 - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys, i'm new here. I've searched for any rom (Cyanoge, stock rom) to Optimus F5 but I can't found nothing :/ I ask to LG and they reply me saying that this device don't support a new android update (it comes with android 4.1 jellybean) it's frustring how a good device (better than optimus L5, L7 and L series) don't support a new update, i've reda that optimus L series it's able to receive Cyanogen, can you guys of XDA port or do some ROM for this device? I know that I'm not the only one that have this device, it will help so much. (i'm sorry for the terrible english, I'm Brazilian) :good:

........sorry...........
hi friend,
your device lg optimus f5 is good device but i think so that there are no developers for your device
more the number of developers they post more roms and threads
you can also wait for few months
because i also waited for your reason
surely custom rom and cyanogen rom will be posted by the developers
and software update for your device is now not possible i think so
because they are looking on for big devices(costly) so they dont care about devices which are at some price
you can also wait for this

Overview of stable custom roms for a mobile phone

Is there anywhere a list, if a custom rom for a certain mobile exists, and if, which are stable?
I am looking for custom roms for
Samsung Galaxy S+
LG Optimus E510 Hub
LG Optimus P690 Net
The only stable custom rom I found for the 3 phones is download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=e510
There is no list, you have to go into the development sections and ready the changelog and bugs list and see which ones are stable.
Just go to the development sections I'm the forum for your phone.

I've written a list for my device. It's stickied in the ZTE Blade Android Development forum

Thanks, but I don't own a ZTE, only LG and Samsung.
I know. I'm just saying that if someone takes the effort, a list can be made

No wiki for LG E510 Hub and LG P690 Net
I read http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus but is there anything similar for LG E510 Hub and LG P690 Net? http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/#LG_Smartphones doesn't mention them. I am especially interested which features are (not) supported by which custom rom. It seems to be always the same, camera is problematic as well as radio and tethering.
I don't think there is an overview, but you can go to the forum of your phone and ask in the general area. Many people would be happy to show you the most stable ROMs for your device.

[Q] Dev formus

1.Well... is there any shorter way to get permisions to post on dev threads instead of posting 15 times in other threads?
2.I saw that motorola atrix 2, lg l9 lg prada are similar devices. So it shouldn`t be hard to port roms between them, especially if there is good port of CM. Am i right? The point is that prada have got just CM so would it be possible to port for example Miui using CM port?

[q] {request}[optimus net]{android 4.4 kk}

Hi, I wanted to know if any cook rom developer was interested in doing a build of Android 4.4 KitKat for LG OPTIMUS NET ...
Thank you so much to all of you for listening, I hope that someone will come forward to support this device

[Completed] [Q] Is it possiblt install android 5.0 via custom Rom on the LG Optimus One P500

Surprisingly a working version of Android Kitkat was installed via custom ROM on the LG Optimus One P500, so is there any possibility that the the smartphone would be able to get a taste of the new version of android

It is but it's an very complicated process for that you should know what are you doing taking rom of nexus 5 and flashing just as example

That is absolutely correct. However I was thinking whether this would be feasible or not. Just like KitKat is it possible to port lollipop to devices with less grunt specially considering the fact that lollipop comes with a different run-time altogether.

Hi there,
You have a dedicated forum for this device where you will receive more accurate answers from the owners and experts:

It's not kitkat
the whole API is diffrent and the runtime too but it sets diffrent metadata's and permissions which create status 7 error which are not feasible

I saw Rom for G2 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/zenrom-5-4-ux5-t3355935
G2 and G-Pro2 is very similar I think. So if you have some understanding how to build rom it would not be hard thing to do.
It might even work if you change some stuff like bootloader in the rom for G-Pro2. But brick your phone is not fun you better know what you doing, thanks.
