Hi all,
I want to build Android from source and install it on a device. Simple build runs successfully so that I assume the environment is set up correctly. Question is: Is there a dependency between Android and the kernel version, i.e. do certain Android versions require certain kernel versions? Do I need to update the kernel on a device before installing a new Android version?
Thanks a lot!!
Mike
Hello There,
i have a question, does anyone know where i can get a overclocked KERNEL version for my LG p970 on the latest Cyanogenmod 10.1 (24-nov-2013)
What i mean with overclocked kernel is, i read somewhere that it is possible to go to 1300mhz with this phone
Android version now is 4.2.2
Kernel now [email protected]#1 (goes to 1000mhz)
Please can someone explain. What i have to do for this. Maybe i must use another rom for this? with propiate kernel?
Thanks already for the info
Kind regards,
Geertjan
Hi, I really wanted to overclock my Xperia mini ST15i (smultron) and perhaps undervolt it.
But I just want to confirm first if the Linux kernel of LegacyXperia's CM 11 supports overclocking...
And I also need some knowledge how to use SetCPU thanks.
OR all custom kernel supports overclocking? I'm still a noob here, please!?

Not all devices have custom kernels.
Do a Google search for:
"Custom kernel for (your model number)"
If there is a custom kernel available for your device, that will find it. If that search does not find anything for your device then that means there are no custom kernels for your device.
