Hi,
I currently own a Pebble Smartwatch along with a Galaxy Note 3 and I was considering buying a Gear 2. I have very little info about the apps of the Gear 2 and I would like to know if there are equivalents for the apps I use the most in my Pebble:
- Foursquare (a way to do checkin from the watch)
- Evernote (access to the list, very handy when shopping)
Also I would like to know if there is any Forex app for the Gear 2. Is there any limit for the number of apps to be installed (in the Pebble you can only install 8 and it is quite annoying)?
What are your favorite apps for the Gear 2?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Cheers.

Foursquare there is an app called fithsquare that works great on the gear.
Evernote was an app in the original gear. So should be ported over soon for the gear 2.
Not sure what forex is. No right bite I have 14 apps plus all the stock ones. Not sure if there is a limit but I haven't run into any.
Favorite apps: simple Calc, ebay, glypse, qr reader, instant settings, gear alarm, fithsquare, smart ir remote, gear2cam, atooma, car finder, talking Goggles, wearable widgets, flesky messenger.
They are the ones I have installed. I have 5 shortcuts on the main screens for the ones I use most.

So, I've recently received a Galaxy Gear 2 for my birthday, and I've read up on it. It seems as if the app selection is very, very small. However, I had my eyes set on one particular app: RunKeeper. I got my hopes up after reading an article on RunKeeper's website about its integration with gear. However, after connecting it with my S4, I scoured the gear appstore for RunKeeper, however I could only find Runtastic, which I definitely DO NOT want to switch to. Does anyone know how to download runkeeper to my gear? I do not want to have to run with my phone in my pocket.

Easy, just update the tizen into Android and then install Runkeeper - simple: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-2/help/qa-porting-android-to-gear-2-t3018159
EDIT: install the android wear first, then google fit and only after that, runkeeper. Just tested it out.
Hello!
I was wondering if someone who owns the device already would let us know what applications are available right now. I read somewhere that there is nit too many besides some watchfaces. Samsung claimed 10000 apps, maybe for S2 but are they compatible for S3?
Specifically the most used apps on my Android Wear are like remote phone camera control Pixtocam, loyalty cards barcode display Wear Codes, Glympse, Backcountry navigator, Endomondo, Nest, Shazam...
Are the apps equivalent to any of those available?
From what I could find in the Gear store...

Ok, thanx!
Endomondo is a bummer as it was available for Gear S....
Other than that-is there a decent selection of apps? S2 had almost nothing at launch that's why i switched to Android wear a year ago. Now i am finally returning lg urbane 2 under recall so i have a chance to try s3

It looks like a lot of the S2 apps are compatible with the S3 so there is already a decent number of available apps and watch faces.
That's good news, might be a keeper then!
Thanx for checking.
One app I would really like is Spotify but it's not there. I haven't seen anything for the S3 that I want and the choice is limited at the moment. Gear navigator is a must app, most turns show up as street view using Google maps, it cost £1.99.
I am not sure about 10000, but there are a ton of apps on the Gear Store. Some are rubbish but there are some equally useful ones too. People complain that there are more watch faces than apps, this is true, but it's not a bad thing! The watchface after all is the thing you look at most so having a choice that suits your taste is essential.
I installed:
Here Maps
Navigator Companion
Yelp
Calculator
Gear Browser (Full function web browser!)
Flashlight Premium 2 (Torch)
Brrr (This cool utility makes the watch vibrate like crazy when you leave your phone behind!)
Guardian News
My Notes in Gear (excellent notes and To-Do List that syncs with your phone)
.
Got the watch, it's awesome.
FidMe is for the phone only though, for the phone I use Beep'n'Go... Loved the WearCodes... Hopefully someone will come up with a similar app for Tizen

Save your barcodes as images, send to Gear. I've added Starbucks barcode, it scans from watch without a problem.

Hi, what image size did you use for picture of the Starbucks code? I'm sending the screen shot of the Starbuck barcode to the Gallery on the S3 but when displayed on the watch code does not fit the screen
Thanks
hey i would like to know what is the reason why I am not able to find the camera controller or camera gear and App launcher widget apps from the gear app store.
I have a Samsung Gear s3 and phone i have a Oneplus 3
Is there any apps to see movie showtimes and reviews? Sort of like Flixster with Rotten Tomatoes for your cell phone.
Received my new Gear S3 today - was surprised to see that the SOS call finder and Heart Rate widgets were not pre-loaded since I've seen these aps mentioned in several of the unboxing videos on you tube. When I search for them in the Galaxy Aps under the Gear option, they don't show up. How do I get them? Thanks for your help.
