[Q] PC virus when connected to android using USB - General Questions and Answers

I have samsung GT S7562 but problem I believe is not specific to the model
here is the situation in detail
when I connect Android phone with USB cable to PC
and Settings > Developer options > USB debugging is enabled
the dialer comes up on its own and dials 922,822,22 (about 6 of those every 15 to 30 minutes)
if I disconnect the USB cable or disable the USB debugging or connect to a different PC
this does not happen anymore
so I figured its a PC malfunction (virus probably) that affects android but the USB debugging has to be enabled in order to access the phone fully
on this particular PC (windows 8.1) I have connected many android helper apps (explorers etc) and I suspect one of them had virus
I will post back if I find anything more solid but please tell me how to debug such a situation
is there any application that will log all the application from PC that connect and use the dialer on the android
or any android app that will do this ?

[GUIDE] [Solution] How To Get Windows 8.1 To Recognise USB Mass Storage

How To Get Windows 8.1 To Recognise USB Mass Storage On Your Phone
I have had the problem for ages that when I connected my Samsung Galaxy GT-S5360 into my Windows 8.1 PC nothing happened - Windows 8.1 simply refused to recognise the device - not even anything in device manager - nothing - nada
However it would recognise the phone if I set the phone to download mode - but I want to use my phone as mass storage
Well after months of trying I finally found a really stupid solution
Solution
Install the usb drivers for your phone as normal
connect the phone to pc via usb cable (nothing happens other then a few beeps as normal)
now plug in any usb dongle that you have already installed on your pc - like a usb wireless mouse dongle
suddenly windows detects the phone and you can now set your phone to mass storage from the phone status bar
Every time you want to connect your phone in mass storage just plug it in then plug in the other usb dongle after

[Q] USB Tethering Windows 7 (x86)

Hi! My name is Recoder. I recently brought a new Google Nexus 5 (16GB Black) and have a Tata Docomo 3G Connection (India).
I would actually like to Reverse Tether my Phone (so as to get my PC Highspeed internet on my phone, since the mobile network is a bit choppy at times, and the connection times out very frequently). But in order to reverse tether (without Root), I need to get my Phone recognized as a Tethered Mobile on my PC.
I am actually a beginner in Tethering.
1. I connected the Phone to PC via USB, and clicked on USB Tethering. (it says tethered), but my PC keeps on installed Remote NDIS Driver forever and finally says Driver not installed nor does it recognizes my Phone. (It Gets Recognized as a PTP, MTP Device)
2. I have USB Debugging Enabled (don't know whats that for). Disabling it does not make any difference.
3. I tried the Google USB Driver but it does not have the driver for Nexus 5, and with usb debug enabled, it comes as a Samsung Android ADB Composite Device.
So Please help my how to Tether my Phone (Step by step if possible, since its my first time)
I don't want to root my new Nexus.
With Warm Regards,
Super Recoder

what is the solution to turn on usb to MTP.
give your phone a restart, first and foremost. you may need to go into your settings and tap the build number the subsequent number of times to enable developer mode, and make sure that USB debugging is selected. are you on Windows 8 or Windows 10? i know that there have been some issues with Windows 10 users connecting their external media/phones/disk drives and having them able to be read. but the following is what I was able to do to get my phone recognized on Windows 10.

Note edge SM-N915T Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

Hello Guys,
Well, I bought a Galaxy Note Edge and Everytime I try to connect to ANY computer it shows the message "Unknown Device Windows Cannot Recognize it" (I'm Currently Using Windows 10 on Hp Envy Laptop) then I Look at the computer manager and it shows my device as Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed Error 43) here is what i tried:
- Reinstall Samsung Drivers (Version : 1.5.45.0)
- Dial *#0808# and then change the USB Settings to MTP+ADB
- Reinstall ADB Drivers
- Reset the phone to factory defaults
- Change the USB Cord (I've Used all USB cords I found even the original that came with my phone)
- Enable USB Debugging
- Install Windows Media Feature Pack
- Change Regedit
- on Battery Setting on my Laptop I changed the USB Selective Suspend Settings to Disabled.
I have as well a Tab Pro 8.4 and my PC recognizes without problems.
I searched for everything, nothing works, even I try to connect my phone to the pc where I work, It shows the same message, so I think is a problem with the phone maybe I changed something that I didn't noticed.
Please Guys Help me I really need to work with this phone and I'm already outside of the US so I can't change it for about a year.
Thank you Very Much!
So, I bought a spare part from AliExpress, now I'm waiting for it. Guys FYI, I tried a cable from a Lamp (MicroUsb to USB) and it worked! but it stopped working since I start browsing some files on the SD Card.
Can you Guys Help me With That?
I'll ley you know if something happens after I change the Micro USB Port.

Can't get usb debugging working

Phone is rooted and on android 10 and xxxnolimits installed
I connected phone to pc and only charging. Tried 3 different cables, including official one and 3 different USB ports and not showing on pc. I can hear noise it's connected to pc but then another noise to disconnect
Usb debugging is enabled and default usb configuration I can change to file transfer, usb tethering , midi, ptp & no data transfer. I changed it to each of them still not showing
There is no option to choose mtb from drop down notification no notification is there
I rebooted phone and pc and cleared cache. Also i app settings allowed notifications.
I'm at the end of my tether trying to figure out what issue is as was working previously.
Now all its doing is charging
Any suggestions

Do you have the latest fastboot-adb platform tools installed? Just a thought.
Will check
However usb notification drop down not coming up on phone to change settings when I plug phone into port.
Also plugged phone into USB port of car for android auto and not picking it up
If I restore a backup would that be worth trying or does issue seems to be with usb port on phone?
