Sprint Framily Plan Group ID #: u01527204Ip with the last 4 digits of my phone 1861 for Texas
The benefit of the Sprint Framily Plan is that you can refer ANYONE to join your group, it's not just limited to friends and family who have to be with you or know you in order to get the referral discount.
How it works is simple... every Framily Group can have a maximum of 10 members in it. These 10 members can all be on different accounts or on an account together, it doesn't matter. Once your group reaches the 7-10 member mark each and every member of the group will pay only $45 for their phone line which includes unlimited calling, unlimited texting, unlimited 3G/4G LTE data, and you get the ability to upgrade your phone every 12 months.
No, no... I'm not advertising for Sprint. I'm advertising for myself and inviting 5 complete strangers to switch to Sprint to get an extremely cheap monthly bill while at the same time lowering MY own monthly bill.
I currently have 2 lines on my Framily Group... It doesn't matter who you are or where you live or even if you know me or not. Once we hit 7-10 total members we will all enjoy $45 a month service. Note: It may take up to 2 billing cycles (roughly 2 months) before the final discount is applied to your account and you see the reduced monthly rate on your bill.
Sorry... but if you're already a Sprint customer don't bother. Only NEW customers can join an existing Framily Group, but you can still go to your Sprint store and request to switch to the Framily Plan and create your own group to invite people yourself and save even more...
So again... My group ID is:
"But wait!", you say. "I know there must be more fee's than that?"
Here, I'll break down the math for a single line:
1) With Sprint's new plans you are required to purchase a phone under "Sprint Easy Pay" which is essentially a lease agreement between you and Sprint. So Sprint will charge you a monthly fee (without interest) to lease a phone from them. You can pay off the phone any time you want and then you own it, you can take a full 24 months to pay it off and then you own it, or you can do what most people will do pay the minimum payment for 12 months then give the phone back to Sprint and upgrade again. So again, assuming you wanted a Galaxy Note 3, the monthly fee on Sprint Easy Pay for that device is $22.92.
2) Now assume you want Sprint's TEP insurance, which is full device coverage. Unless you're a rebel, most people would take this because if you break your phone on Easy Pay you are still obligated to pay it off and Sprint won't let you upgrade in 12 months anymore. But, if you have Sprint's insurance and you break your phone, Sprint will replace it for a deductible and you can still do your upgrade in 12 months. Sprint's TEP insurance is $11 per month.
Time for the monthly total:
Service: $45 (If you join my Framily Group)
+ Insurance: $11
+ Device Fee: $22.92
$78.92 (before tax) to have a Note 3 with unlimited calling, text and data with annual upgrades.
Sorry, but referrals to Sprint Framily plans are not allowed on xda because they are little more than advertisements for Sprint.

hey guys,
so father's day is coming, and we've screen the ad that says free phones with a new contract. If the HTC one S is included, I am planning to sign up for a new contract just for the phone, and then ETF.
From what I've read in other threads, I would sign up for a classic us t-mobile plan, get the phone, wait 1-2 months for the mail-in rebate to come in while I have to pay for service during those 2 months, and pay the $200 ETF as soon as I get the mail-in rebate.
Can someone confirm if this is true?
also, I am already in a T-mobile family plan. However, i am NOT the account holder. I am just one of the lines in the family plan. Will signing up and ETF'ing a brand new contract using my name in any way affect my current family plan?
Thank you very much

I can't answer all your questions, but I am part of a family plan. I am the account holder. Each person in the plan has their own upgrade date. You have to qualify for the upgrade so if you're already on there and they know your name, you may not qualify if you're not up for an upgrade. But I don't know how that works if you're getting your own plan.
I don't think it be a good idea, in order to get the rebate back they want you to get the 5gb internet at 35 bucks, plus you still have to pay the rate plan. 75 to 85 plus taxes depending on the rate plan. Rebate takes up to 10 weeks to come back so multiply that amount by atleast 3 months plus 35 activation fee. 250 for the HTC one s. Your getting close to the 500 dollars mark. Sure you got 250 back but was it really free? Not to mention whatever fee your getting charge in your family plan.

My plan with VZW is about to expire and I'm ready to upgrade my GNex to a N5. I was just going to buy it from Google and go with the $30 T-Mobile Walmart plan. Then I heard about the promotion Sprint and Best Buy are doing. Basically you overpay for a phone and get unlimited T&T and 1GB of data for free or unlimited data for $10 a month. The N5 is one of the only phones it works out ahead for. Can somebody check my math? After the first year, you can just leave.
Original Plan: $350 for N5 + $30 a month for TMobile plan = $710 for first year
Sprint Plan: $450 for N5 + $10 a month for unlimited data = $570 for first year
The promo is only available in store at Best Buy, but at least I don't have to wait for my phone to ship.
Your math is correct but it all depends on what model nexus you get. The deal sounds a little too good to be true but I could be wrong. 1GB of data isn't crap. If you are looking for the cheap route I would look into straight talk.
edit: either way tell verizon to have a nice life

I have had my sim card for one day. I already used .76 gigs running a few speed tests and updating a few apps. 1gb is mega crap.
Don't just take the first year into consideration. The deal is for a 2 year contract. How much will that second year cost you per month?

It's not for a two year contract. You get one year free (or $10) and can leave anytime. There is no ETF.
"Sprint will send the account holder a text message 30 days before the completion of free service on the student's line. Upon completion of free service, the student line will be charged regular price for service for Unlimited, My Way ($70/month for unlimited talk, text and 1GB of data on smartphones ($50/month on basic phones with blocked data); additional $10/month for unlimited data, if applicable). To avoid charges, the account holder can terminate the student line by calling Sprint or dialing *2 from their mobile phone before the end of 12 months."

Touche. Just read the whole agreement and there is no ETF after 12 months. Well at least add in the $36 activation fee in your calculation! That does apply.

If I buy the Nexus 5 from Best Buy for this promotion, is it unlocked? I currently have AT&T, so could I switch Sim cards between AT&T and Sprint with the Nexus 5 whenever I want?

Yes. It is completely unlocked.
I've been doing the same calculation and am leaning toward making the jump, too. Here's the calculation I did (let me know if i'm missing something other than sales tax on the phone...):
Tmo $30 plan:
Phone: $350 (via google play)
Plan: ~33 (includes fees)
Per mo cost in 1st year (amortizing phone up front cost over 12 months): $62
Per mo cost in 2nd year (for just the service since phone was amortized above): $33
Sprint Free Student:
Phone: $450+$36 activation = $486 (via BB)
Plan: ~$15 (assuming i would need the $10 unlimited data. Also includes line fees/taxes)
Per mo cost in 1st year: $55
2nd year: $70, though I'm not really comparing this for the time being.
----------------
For the first year, this nets out to a savings of about $74 when you amortize the phone cost. For this vs Tmo you get: unlimited talk, >5GB data, and a phone in your hand via best buy instead of waiting 4-5 weeks; at a cost of needing to swap lines at the end of the contract if you aren't cool with paying full price for Sprint.
Assuming all of my numbers are right, the two deals are shockingly close to being equal for the first year. For me, I'd probably end up with some overages with the Tmo 100 minute cap, so I think I'm going to go for the Sprint deal for now, but this is hardly the no brainer I was expecting before I ran the numbers. The game changer is the Nexus 5 itself: dual compatibility with CDMA and GSM make it possible to swap between these two services without taking another device hit to the wallet. That flexibility is really nice.
Sup forum,
So I work for Sprint. On January 10th Sprint launched their new "Framily Plan" rate plan offer which is essentially a new type of referral program to compete with other carriers. The benefit of the Sprint Framily Plan is that you can refer ANYONE to join your group, it's not just limited to friends and family who have to be with you or know you in order to get the referral discount.

I currently have 5 lines on my Framily Group which means I can have 5 more. It doesn't matter who you are or where you live or even if you know me or not. All you have to do is go to a Sprint store, give them my Framily Group ID (ID #: P00006422CB) and tell them you want to sign up for service and join my group. "But wait!", you say. "I know there must be more fee's than that?"
Here, I'll break down the math for a single line:
1) Assume you want a Samsung Galaxy Note 3... SRP cost is $699.99. You pay a $149.99 down payment plus sales tax on the SRP. Not sure what sales tax is where you live, but in NY it's calculated at roughly 11.5%. So in New York state (excluding NYC) you would pay roughly $230 to walk out with a brand new Note 3.
2) With Sprint's new plans you are required to purchase a phone under "Sprint Easy Pay" which is essentially a lease agreement between you and Sprint.

$78.92 (before tax) to have a Note 3 with unlimited calling, text and data with annual upgrades.
Any questions... just ask.
Don't like Sprint? I don't care.

Sprint is offering a free Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 if you join the framily plan. You have to sign up for a $15 a month 2gb data plan for 3 months and you can downgrade to $5 a month 1gb data plan and sign up for a 2 year agreement. That works out to be about $150 in total cost, about the going price right now and if you buy a new tablet you can always transfer data service. Personally I think this is a reasonable deal.
