Auto screen rotate shortcut? - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Did a search, no luck. Just got phone yesterday, love it for the price. There's no auto screen rotate shortcut on the pull down menu. What's most battery efficient, easy to use app to get a shortcut?
Thx

I don't remember if you can add buttons in the stock ROM (i'm in CM11), but in my ICS days i used "Powerwidgets" as my command center in the homescreen. They have a paid and a free (lite) app in the store and the only difference is that in the lite version every some uses an notification appears that you can discard as easily as it shows ups.

Root + xposed framework + gravitybox
Or
Cwm + http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2710219

I use the app "Notification toggle" for this
Sent from my Moto G

Root, Xposed Framework + GravityBox. Install Desktop VisualizeR.
Long press on homescreen: Choose Desktop VisualizeR widget, set no icon and launch action as - Others > GravityBox Actions > Toggle auto rotation.
Through this method, I have the hidden icon in top left corner of my homescreen for enabling / disabling auto rotation.

How to remove a widget- running CM7

I have CM7 on my inspire and i put Newsweek Mobile widget on my homescreen and I expanded it to fit the whole screen, but now I can't remove it. I long-press the widget and a trashcan shows up, but i can't move it into the trashcan. The widget doesn't get highlighted or anything. I uninstalled the app because I thought that would help but now there's just a "problem loading widget" thing on the screen and the same problem occurs. Is there any way to remove a widget from the backend?

long press and release, a pop up menu should slide in with a "remove" option on it. i assume you are using the stock launcher ADW which comes with cyan 7.
Do you have lock background on?

I'm using launcher pro plus. The long press thing doesn't work. And what do you mean a lock background?

This can be closed. I figured it out. I changed the number of rows in Launcher Pro Plus to 8, then I was able to long-press the widget and drag it to the trashcan. Then I just changed my rows back to 5.

Don't believe one comes with the nexus 5. Will have to get one off the play store probably.
It isn't a stock feature, you will have to download one.
alright, thanks
It's weird that it isn't stock. Flashlight and a compass should now be essential like the calculator.

Agreed.... If you consider a calculator a "tool" app Google then make a great flashlight one.

TeslaLED is great. I also am using HD Widgets in Text Clock / Switches mode on my lock screen, which allows me to put a flashlight button on the lock screen.
I'm using Power Toggles until a stable cutstom ROM comes out that I can place Torch as a Quick Setting tiles and have the notification drawer default to Quick Settings as opposed to the notification drawer.

Widgetsoid does this, and has a native flashlight app.
Moderators don't mean to spam widgetsoid everywhere, but it solves the problems listed in all these threads.

Chronus widget for lockscreen

Found this widget for my lockscreen. There is a free version in the market.
Shows you weather and even upcoming appointments.
Beautiful! !!

Maybe I should explain how you can get this as your standard lockscreen widget so you see it when you push the power button.
Enable multiple widgets in lockscreen options. Now go to your lockscreen, hold the clock and swipe to the right. You will see a plus sign there. Add the chronus widget. Tap this widget and hold it. Swipe it to the right of the standard clock. Now it will be your standard lockscreen widget.

I would like to use this widget... I was using it on m Galaxy S3 with a custom rom... I even bought the "pro" version...
but sadly, Samsung has made a choice to disable all widgets when you have some type of lockscreen security.
I can not remove the security because it's mandatory when you have a VPN configured (I have one to connect to my home or work network).

Nova launcher with double tap?

Is it possible to get the double tap feature while using Nova Launcher? It's my launcher of choice but not having the double tap feature sent me scurrying back to stock.
Alternately, is there a way to resize widgets on the stock launcher? That would also solve the problem.

I just installed an app (lots on the Playstore) that will lock your phone. Then setup the gesture setting in Nova for Double-tap with a shortcut to the activity associated with that App. Sorry can't give you a step-by-step, but it's not too hard.

Download screen off app in the play store. Then go too nova launcher gesture settings, "Double tap" Apps menu and set screen off to it. That will let you Knock off (Turn off) your phone. If your phone's Knock on (Turn on) stops working like a lot of peoples have lately. Go to your dialer and type 3845#*801# then go too settings, and push Update Touch Firmware. Your phone should update for five seconds and just exit out knock on should work then. Use that secret number only if your knock on stops working.

I've just lived with tapping the status bar for Knock Off, not the best, but manageable without additional external apps.
Working for me

Not sure if you're still using Nova or are using the Screen Off app. An app I've been using has been Secure Settings. Don't know what the pro upgrade is now, but I paid $1.50 and it has a selectable action that allows you to lock the screen. I think it has a free version too, but don't know what actions are enabled.
All you do is go to the Double Tap gesture in Nova Settings, select Shortcuts, go to Secure Settings, then Dev Admin. You'll find a Lock Device action that will give you double tap.

[Q] HomeScreen Shortcuts/modification

Hello All,
I ve been spending the weekend customizing my Home screen . I am using Nova launchers , icon packs , xposed Gravity Box,playing with widgets etc.
I wanted to know if there was a app/Shortcut/workaround applied to the leftmost homescreen such that when i swipe right it opens an app or google now ( similar to the feature in action launcher to open goolenow).
Also is xfloatingwindows working on Lollipop and are there any good apps that I could apply only on the Leftmost and Rightmost Home Screen.
Thanks for all the Help

Try the Xposed module 'Gesture Navigation'
If you are asking if the module 'XHalo Floating Window' is working on lollipop, the answer is No!
Here is its official thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-xhalofloatingwindow-v2-38-movable-t2419287
Been using Gesture navigation , but I'm not able to restrict it only to the home screen , it works in apps and the app drawer , which I'm trying to avoid
