I wanted to get a secondary ROM on my rooted Nexus 5 so I decided to get MultiROM. I had Cyanogenmod 11 (Stable) and Elementalx Kernel with ClockWordMod recovery when I installed MultiROM. I used the MultiROM Manager app and installed it from there. I checked the three boxes that installed MultiROM, the MultiROM recovery and the CM 11 kernel (or else it wouldn't install). It installed and booted my device into MultiROM. It worked! So I booted back into Cyanogenmod. It was stuck at the black screen for a long time, and I did some research and found out that CM had gotten deleted off my phone. I was going to get a new ROM so I plugged my Nexus 5 into my PC and I couldn't access the files for the Nexus 5 on my computer to get a new ROM. I had no ROM's on my phone, so it is basically unusable now. Could someone please tell me if there is a way to fix this?
Boot into recovery and adb push a rom to the sdcard, or side load a rom

Use ADB sideload

Hi everybody.
I hope I will get some help here.
My phone is rooted but still with stock ROM (4.4.4).
Couple of hours ago I used APToide to update 7 apps, one of which was "Google Search". After updates had finished, I would constantly get a message telling me that "Google Search had crashed", thus after several times I decided to uninstall it from APToide: this brought back the "default" one.
Besides the above, SuperSU was updated as well and it told me to update its binary: I did this as well, rebooted the phone and it seemed ok. I was able to open Twitter and from there open a URL in Chrome. As soon as I wanted to go back to my homescreen, nothing would happen: none of the buttons would do anything! Thus I decided to shut the phone down.
Now restarting the phone brings it up, it goes past the Google word and gets stuck at the four colored balloons!!! Now if I keep the power button pressed long enough, the phone simply reboots...
The weird thing is that the phone is getting WLAN and IP and it reacts to incoming Hangout messages vibrating!!!
Any help will be very much appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
F.
Since you are phone is already rooted, install custom recovery. I recommend TWRP recovery. Because you cannot boot up your device, use Nexus 5 toolkit or push it via adb to flash custom recovery.
Once you are in custom recovery, clear cache and dalvik. Hopefully that should do the trick. If not you may have to flash stock kernel via adb or Nexus 5 toolkit.

Hi badboy... in the meantime I got into stock recovery and did a full wipe/reset... now it works again...
Why do you recommend TWRP custom recovery?
Thanks,
F.
Glad you fixed it! TWRp has the best and friendly user interface with great features. I never have any problems flashing ROMs / kernels. Things like phone stuck on logo, not booting up, can be fixed in seconds in custom recovery. There is also cwm recovery. I used it for years but I eventually switched to twrp. Its so much better. I would say try both.
No do not try CWM. Use TWRP or PhilZ touch.
I've done ****ed up,
i found some free time to update my cataclysm rom from 5.0 to the latest 5.1 version.
ive finished everything and all was good, but i wanted to theme it before my gf arrives.
now i've searched for a cataclysm black theme and flashed one that said it is for stock & cataclysm.
now when my phone boots up it shows the boot animation and then it shows only black screen.
i haven't made a backup nor do I have the cataclysm rom on my phone cuz I dumbass deleted it imediately after installing it.
any ideas how to dirty flash the rom witout booting up the phone? adb?
Can you boot into recovery. If do, if you have twrp, just copy the rom from your pc to the device and dirty flash the rom. Latest twrp supports mtp.

Hello,
I wanted to install a custom Rom on my Nexus 5 running Android 6.0 so I downloaded TWRP latest and unlocked the Bootloader and installed TWRP.
Now the OS doesn't bootup anymore and the TWRP starts but gets rebooted all the time.
Tried to install an older TWRP version 2.8.70 and sideloaded and installed Pure Nexus Rom but this doesn't fix the problem.
Wiping anything from TWRP gives error messages...
Anyonw can help please!?
OK I have the stock recovery now installed from Android 6.0 and the OS boots up with Pure Nexus... looks OK,...
Anyway what's the problem with TWRP now!?
I don't think so. TWRP 2.8.7.1 is working fine for months. Did you full wipe before flashing your custom rom? Did you flash something else?
U need to install twrp 2.8.4.0 first because twrp 2.8.7.1 can only re-write on twrp 2.8.4.0 or higher..its work fine for me at official google M

That happened to me way back when I first used TWRP. From the official TWRP thread:
"If you have just used fastboot oem unlock, you should let the device boot up normally first before trying to install TWRP."
I think if you don't boot fully once before trying to install TWRP, it loops like that.
Hi,
This is a new Mi4w Global and I got tired of waiting to Marshmallow to come OTA so decided to try CM13 and seem to have bricked it. Please help!
I flashed latest TWRP (also tried CyanogenMod recovery), then I did the factory reset, wipe cache, flashed the CM13 ROM but it won't boot. Always flashes the Mi logo and then straight into Fastboot. I can still access recovery by holding volume up and power, but no amount of flashing the ROM seems to work. I've tried latest Stable and Nightly CyanogenMod ROMs.
Did I miss a step? One thing I remember doing which might have been the problem is while I still had the original Xiaomi recovery I opted to boot onto System 2 or whatever. I think I flashed recovery straight afterwards. I wonder if that is the cause?
Anyway, please help me! Many thanks if you can help me get my phone working again.
Update: In case this helps anyone else, I did manage to find an original Mi4 recovery so I flashed it and the I also flashed the official MIUI developer build of Marshmallow. Now my phone is unbricked. I would still like to figure out how to root it and install CM13 sometime, but at least I have a working phone for now.
It's simple, you selected system 2 before installing cm13, and two installed rom in system 1. Be on system 1 and try again.

OK thanks. What is system 2 then, is that the "sdcard" partition? I had looked in both TWRP and Cyan recovery for an option to change the boot partition but couldn't find it.
