hmmmm...otg works without this and without any problems on all stock roms.
Only what is needed is cable with external power supply.

I think that you have to use OTG cable with power supply , because afaik sultanxda otg works only with aditional power

here is it how to make cabel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1828032 or you can buy it on ebay or somewhere else or if you want to work without power supply flash some of the vipers rom 3.1.4 or 5.1.0

Hi. I have tried to connect both an xbox one controller and an xbox 360 controller (both with cable via otg) and neither of the 2 has worked for me, nor does my mobile recognize them.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
I don't know if it was on miui 11, or on my previous oneplus 5, but I remember that I used the one from xbox 360 to play with emulators and you could even navigate through menus.

Yeah, there is a Magisk Module in the default repository called "1Controller", which adds keylayout files you need for Xbox/Dualshock controllers
