Hi there!
We bough some i9300 phones from a chinese seller, and although we knew they were clones my brother tried to install clockworkmod to manually update the firmware to 4.1.2 ...
Rom manager told him the device was not supported, he selected the i9300 from the list and applied the flash...
... and now he just gets a black loading screen and nothing else...
so I guess the bootloader has been damaged somehow.
with home+voldown+power it displayed a factory menu to test the phone. now it just displays factory mode and freezes there.
with home+volup+power it enters recovery mode and seems to work fine.
I can access it with adb, but don't know how to fix it.
I have the same phone working fine, is there any way to get a backup of the working unit to fix the damaged one or something?
or how can I know what firmware is it using and where could I get it to update it?
it also asks me for update.zip file in sdcard, but when I push a file into sdcard I can't see it in the recovery menu...
shell commands give me an error about something not found.
any idea?
the phone looks likes a i9300, even has "samsung" on the front. supports 2 sims although there's just room for 1 micro sim in the back. came with 32gb microsd too, but that's not the one loaded in recovery.
updated: tried to install cyanogen (i9300 build) version 9 and nightly 10... both no valid ota package.
searched for android 4.1.1 ota rom files, and could only find a samsung leaked one. after trying it produced an error with boot (dota or something like that), and if tried to continue after booting produced failed to verify whole-file signature and the instalation was aborted.
I'm checking the working one to get more details and identify it...

any idea?
Hi friends,
I rooted my AT&T Infuse 4G using framaroot v. 1.5.3, it was rooted well and worked fine. Then I installed an android app 3c Tools and happened to apply preset settings in build control section of the application (build.prop). After than my Phone shows Samsung logo and when sound is played it doesn't show anything and crashes to reboot.
It's charging well, and also booting to Samsung Official Recovery.
Is there any way to recover the device while the USB port is damaged and I can't connect to pc. Please Help to recover....

Hello,
I have a Samsung S Duos GT-S7562 phone that I had bought in India back in October 2013.
Since around May 2020, the phone was not booting properly. Part of the reason might be due to the malfunction of the battery. Another reason might be due to fault(s)/bug(s) in the system firmware.
It was later confirmed by local mobile repair shops and also by the local Samsung Authorized Service Center that due to both fault in system firmware and the malfunctioning battery, the phone is not working anymore. They tried to install system firmware once again in the phone but they said they failed in doing so, hence recommended that there is no point in repairing the phone.
Now, since this phone malfunctioned all of a sudden, I didn't have the backup of data stored in the phone's memory.
Since day one, I have been using the original firmware that came with the phone, so there was no custom ROM installed on the phone until it malfunctioned. I have removed SIM cards and an external SD card from the phone.
So, the present status is that when I press the power button, it only shows the SAMSUNG boot screen and gets stuck there. The battery doesn't work anymore. So, even when the phone is connected using a charging adapter, the battery indicator (in the switch off or power off mode) doesn't show any indication of the phone is charged or not.Since the phone doesn't boot normally, so, I am not able to see any information about the system firmware (Kernel Baseband version and other related information).Recently, I noticed that I have been able to enter download mode by pressing the Vol Down, Power, and Home Button together, but it takes a lot of attempts in doing it.
So, my question is that, given the above information about the status of my phone, is it possible to install the original STOCK ROM of the S7562 phone and recover the data stored in the phone's memory and also able to access the phone normally?
Now, I have watched a few threads on XDA Forum about Rooting or Installing Custom ROMS in Samsung S Duos S7562.
If it is possible to install stock ROM on my phone, should I follow the procedure as mentioned in the following forums?

Now, the links of ODIN, Original Stock S Duos S7562, Samsung USB Drivers are not working in the above threads.
So, can you please provide the updated links to the software required above?
Some additional information about my phone.
I don't have normal access to my phone.
But Last time, when I was able to, I think USB Debugging was enabled.
Phone not charging at all. Have to Plug it in before using it.
Android Version that was installed earlier: 4.0.4
I don't remember the Kernel Baseband Version. But I bought it in India and that also back in October 2013.
I have downloaded Odin version 3.14.4 and Samsung USB Drivers as well as Samsung KIES Driver software from another 3rd party source.
But, I haven't found a reliable source for the Stock ROM of S7562.
I am yet to install the Samsung USB Drivers and Odin software. I will connect it to a Windows 8 PC.
I am not able to identify which version of STOCK Rom of S7562 based on the previous Kernel Baseband version. (I don't know if IMEI will help to identify Kernel Baseband Version but the serial No. of the phone is S7562ZKAINS.
So, please let me know if I can go ahead in installing the Stock ROM on my phone or not.
If I do go ahead then can you please let me know whether the installation of ROM gets completed when the phone reboots after installation and flashes 4-5 times?
Can I use Samsung KIES instead of Samsung USB Drives for connecting the PC with the phone?
And, may I know how big is the file size of the Stock Rom of S7562?
Is it possible to recover the data that was installed earlier from the main memory after the installation of the Stock ROM?
