first chk if your screen guard is not interfering with proximity sensor. My friend with A116 had similar issue. Just remove screen guard around proximity sensor area - between front cam and speaker.
may b it must b with ur hardware issue

Yesterday i bought HTC explorer and a made a call from it . When call was connected :, i turned off my display using power button and saw a strange led light (very low and red colored near proximity sensor) . In just wondering what kind of led that was ; notification light or a hardware defect ???

Not sure what it was you saw, but there is no notification LED on the Explorer (sadly).
the glowing thing was your proximity sensor...
yea that was surely your proximity sensor and what you thinking as proximity sensor was the other light sensor of course
Try calling with ur screen off and may u see little red light .
Regards

Yes man its proximity sensor its help the phone to identify that U keeping Ur phone close to Ur ear or not .if u keep it closer to Ur ear it will automatically switch of the screen light.. its working even in many voice call application also man.
U stated the its near proximity sensor but its near ambient light sensor...
Ambient light sensor will help u to adjust the screen brightness automatically based the light intensity in Ur surrounding...
Proximity sensor will use some kind of light emission which will reflected by any obstacle (Ur face or anything) then it will reach the sensor once again this will help the device find that Ur keeping Ur phone nearer...
I got it . Is the proximity sensor which shows low red light on upper right corner. You can try this app (pocket sensor) and turn it on , you too will be able to see that light.
Thanks

I was checking and i found that the main call screen says call ended (no proximity sensor yet) and CLOSE but after 1 second will make the call but without call screen, then proximity senson will be turned ON (little red light).
I cleaned everything... i had android 4 and got back to .629
One missing feature of our beloved note it the ability to turn the screen off when closing the cover over the screen.
Also proximity sensor is missing too..
However there are apps that make use of the light sensor to turn off the screen...
I have tested various apps including tasker, locale plugin, smart screen off and so on, which can make use of the light sensor to turn the screen off..
But I find that the light sensor itself is not very sensitive in low light conditions..
Even in a dimly lit room the sensor detects only 0 lux and forces the screen off... Bummer..
Anyone here sucessfully using case close screen off ???????

Ipad and few other devices like nexus 7 makes use of the magnet sensor.. THis is the best way to do it as there is no battery consumption.
Samsung may not have included this as the magnet might interfere with the s pen..

When I load up tasker, it allowed me to create a condition using the magnetic field state. But I'm new to the app and haven't figured out how to use it yet.
I have a question on how the magnetic sensor works on my device, also my LED notification turns green eventhough its not fully charged yet.
Thank you!

Hey guys.. i have MMX A110 device which is basically an MT6577 device. Recently, i have been facing psensor problem during calls. I want to calibrate p-sensor. But i couldnt find the option for it.
Does anyone know how to calibrate p-sensor of my device? Help pls.
Will somebody help me pls?
Do you have a screen protector over it? These can cause issues with the proximity sensor, especially if crud gets underneath.
i got similar issue..i cant calibrate proximity and the ## codes for proximity calibration doesnt work either
