Is the file size larger 4GB ? Either you sdcard is formatted with Fat32 filesystem with a maximum file size of 4GB per file OR the format is not compatible with MTP. Have you tried connecting the micro sd card to your computer via adapter or cardreader?

This time Yes.. But the error came out even on smaller files exceeding approx.100 MB..
It appears every 2 seconds during the copying process..

You'll have to connect it in another way. Either mount as mass storage instead of MTP OR use a card reader for the micro sd card OR convert the video files to a compatible format.

Who does that??
I mean first
1. Open your Phone Cover. (Reduce Life of Cover)
2. Eject SD Card (Increased Risk of Damaging Card)
3. Put it in Card Reader
4. Copy Files with USB 2.0 (No benefit of USB 3.0 support)
5. Put it Back into Phone
6. Close Phone Cover.
and The whole process is time consuming and annoying to me..
Moreover, What you expect from a USD 750 Phone??

Ok i have checked whether it transfers data files other than video files..But no success:crying:. means there in no format related issue at all..

BUT seems to be caused by MTP.

Its not a fix..its an alternative..

But it's much faster, too. MTP provides lower copying speeds.

internal storage vs SDcard

Why do some rom creators prefer excluding the extra 5 gigs of space from being used at all in favor of the sd card?
EagleBlood's would be my favorite if not for the installation mount pointing to the sd card. Is there a way to have both? The cm7 flash for this style reverts it, but makes it so I cannot connect via USB.

I had problems connecting to USB too. What I did was re-install LG Drivers and turn on USB debugging on the phone, then connected it and then I was able to connect to my PC again. Then after that, you can turn off USB debugging and connect to your computer normally.

[Q] SD card wont show using CWM

Hi
Flashed my Galaxy Note N7000 with STunner 4.2.2 JB rom on NX kernel and the SD card epic saga began.
The rom is awesome in every other aspect but this
A little background:
After flashing the above rom and kernel, the usb transfer speed is too low < 1mb/s (32 gigs class 10 card) so I searched and decided to try multi mount sd. This increased the transfer speed to normal but the phone would reboot midway of transfer. SO multimount sd failed didn't actually fix my problem. Next heard people telling me to transfer files in recovery (CWM):
1. The card mounts in recovery without any error (sdcard and usb storage tried both) but I cannot see it on my pc (Win 7 64 bit)
the card is formatted asd Fat 32 using windows and I have also tried sdformatter for windows (found this suggestion on the forum) but still it doesnt show up on windows ! Is it really that difficult to transfer files onto sdcard via USB ????
Any help on fixing this problem is highly appreciated. My aim is to transfer files via USB onto SD card at normal speed (10-15mbps) and not @ drop dead crawling speed (500kbps to 1mbps). Help people !!!!!!!

Are you finding your device in the device manager? Download the adb package and try to see if your device shows when using the command "adb devices"
It it shows up it is some driver issue.
Unplug the device, uninstall all usb-drivers you can find.
Reboot
and plug in the device again and hope it's working
I have also found out that it's a bit tricky to get working, but with just trial and error you will prevail!

Thanks for he reply mate!
Well here is what I have done and seems to be working finally for USB transfers:
Download and install multi mount SD
Connect USB and mount sd crads using android (Touch to copy files)
Safely remove the mount cards from windows
Unmount USB from android (touch to stop usb storage)
remount sd crads but use multi mount this time
And yes enable the option for the device to stay awake while charging
Thats it getting transfer rates of 20mbps without any problems since then

P3110 cannot be used as mass storage in win7

A friend of mine got this P3110 running stock 4.1.1; a week of usage, she can copy files from her pc to the tab (mass storage), after a week or so, she can't used it as a mass storage device nor we can have it change thru dropdown change USB options (only MTP and camera are present no Mass Storage option). Question is how this can happen? Anyone has any idea what's going on? USB debugging is off. Installed proper drivers (KIES). But now, always asked for MTP drivers and when windows tried to install mtp drivers, not successful.

Well, can't find any option in settings on my stripped down JB with Custom Kernel as of now. But I think these are possible connection types:
MTP (Media Transfer Protocol): for Windows Media Player
PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol): to act like a connected camera
MSC (Mass Storage Connection): to act like connected USB drive
As far I remember the GT-P31xx only supports 1 + 2 - not 3. 1 + 2 have the disadvantage that Android Libraries must be updated before files are visible. My experience with this is not good. The manual (for ICS in German) mentions also 3.) but I cannot recall ever noticing it.
If you want to have fast copy actions, then use an external card reader to write to the sd card and then insert the card. This wirks for sure and is the fastest way.
Also check if the device connects well to another PC - problem may not be the device after all, but the PC.

[How To] Enable Write to External SD Card

This app was written by Jrummy and states that it's for Kit Kat (he should probably update it as it still works). I've used it on every device I've owned since Kit Kat without a single issue. Just run the app and uninstall it when you're done (or don't but it's pointless after you've ran it). It's making a very simple (and reversible) change.
Root is required!

Does anyone know how to use your SD card as Mass Storage when you connect it to your computer?
Currently, to write to the phone from the computer, you have to use MTP. It's too slow though. I want to be able to access my external SD like a flash drive.
I have to eject my SD card from my phone and use a SD card adapter to connect it to my computer anytime I want to make any changes.
If I could mount SD card as Mass Storage while phone is connected to computer via USB, that would make things a lot easier.

When I connect my Mate 7 to the computer, it gives me the option to mount it as a regular flash drive or as MTP.
So, I think it's possible through a software mod.
All,
I just picked up a new Pure, and already have it rooted, and while I have read/write, I can't get the dates to change to the creations date, instead, it has the copy date. Will I need a custom ROM to fix this bug???
(I use a backup program to put "MY" file on the SD, and it tries to use the date to see if there's a change, but can't because it can't change the date. I use to be able to do this with rooted devices.)

There is no fix for Marshmallow other than using SD card as external storage?
I have my SD Card set up as portable on my 6.0 Pure, and BitTorrent Sync has issues writing to it. It works perfectly fine on my internal device storage, but starts encountering complete screwups on the SD Card. It did work when I had the SD Card formatted as adoptable, internal storage though.

Yep Xposed runs on this ROM, it's a great one. For those here for the original thread, I contacted support and sent them my logs and they were able to solve the problem in the next app update.
I'm getting about 5h SOT with moderate-heavy usage after 24h off the charger and a lot of music (Viper too) playing with the screen off. I have a solid amount of wakelocks disabled too, so that adds to it. Still think I should be able to push out some more.

Limited MTP capability with 6.0

My XT1540 was updated today and noticed a few minor inconveniences.
When connecting to my Linux pc, I no longer can get a MTP connection. I can still get a PTP connection.
When connecting using WIN 7, I can get a MTP connection with the internal storage, however, I am limited to PTP accessing the SD Card, only the Android and DCIM directories are available.
ADB seems to work fine with either connection. I had no issues using either Linux or Windows when on 5.1.1.
Is there a way to restore full MTP capability?

Is your sd card merged as internal? If so, unmerge and mount is the only solution right now as the SD card becomes encrypted once switched over.

I did not set my card up as internal as that basically incorporates the card into the OS and eliminates the original intent of the SD Card. Basically makes the card invisible and no longer available to the user as he pleases. It appears Google is trying to take away the portability and convenience of a SD Card. I definitely want to portability and separation from the OS.
BTW....After further research on this topic I see many others are having the identical issues across other platforms. No solution found yet.

Try making MTP default one in Developer Options - Select USB Config. Obviously this is not the solution as to mounting issue, but might force phone to choose MTP as default when cable plugs in.

Thanks. After wiping data and cache for external storage and media storage, I have full MTP with Windows 7. Unfortunately, my Ubuntu 12.04 does not recognize the MTP connection. But it will connect when I select PTP.
OTG didn't work also. On my build. It's the same as the first update. Was fixed later.

Actually, after clearing data and cache on these two items my attempts to access phone via USB are even worse know... In Windows 7 it just says "Unknown USB device" and the peripheral connect/disconnect tone goes off repeatedly, can't access anything anymore. But in Linux Mint I was able to access both internal storage and SD card now. Weird.
EDIT: Hmm... copying files to Linux from the SD card failed after about 1GB, as soon as I moved my laptop a bit. I might have a bad cable (this is a really old Samsung charger & cable I have carried in my laptop bag for traveling for probably 4 years). Not putting much stock in this test at this time until I can get home tomorrow night and use a known good cable.
EDIT2: Got a different cable from the front desk at the hotel, was able to copy about 8GB of music and pictures from SD card to my Linux Mint PC with no issues... Windows is still unable to recognize the device at all (might be something in my work laptop, but I think it had worked before and any other USB peripheral works fine)
