On request of some C2+ users on xda and on FB, I have decided to port my roms for C2+. I was told some time back I postponed it due to other roms in hand.
Looking for a couple people to test out my roms, first Rom will be a stock which is little bit modified or tweaked type rom, nothing special.
Its not ready but I have started working on it. Postponed the work for few days due to other roms All next roms will be based on this stock. But maybe some people will like this tweaked stock also!
You must have Recovery working without any issue and some basic flashing experience and some good hand on 7zip!!!
Edit1: No need to reply here, just send PM for discussion first!
Important: Please note, till date I have not allowed anyone to port my roms for C2+. If someone stole any, I dont know. Inform me in PM if anyone did it here.
Thanks
C Mahendra

Hello everyone,
Sorry for not understanding but i am new to this and definitely willing to learn, Id like to know what is the best Hero Rom (smoothest with the most things working) and if once i have installed it, is it possible to go back to my normal rom if i dont like it.
Id like to know how to download apps such as Apps2SD and themes such as the good ones on here (is a special rom needed or a certain rom ?)
Sorry for all the questions but please help i am willing to make a dontation to somebody who can help me.
Thanks Everyone
This is a place for discussion for more people who are experienced, thats why its called "development" as for themes those are under the "themes" section.....
if your looking for n00b resources for full on n00bs please don't post annoying threads here. Learn to look **** up on google and in under 10 seconds you would have found
http://theunlockr.com/category/howto/android_how_tos/
for how to root, one click rom install, and how to restore back to factory. Or even above your own damn post there are n00b resrouces.
as for ROMs this is the DEVELOPMENT section. So people need to stop asking for a perfect rom. Use cyanogen stable roms if you want stablility. If not ROMs come out every 2-3 days for evil and every couple weeks for other ROMs. They are NOT stable
Qtek=fastest most stable does not work on most MT3G (this is believed to be kernel issues with 2.7xxxx)
Evil= 50/50 depending on his builds, he likes to f* stuff up alot and patch within a few hours
cyanogen 4.1.11.1=android 1.6 AOSP(android open source project)

I did do a search and i did find that site although since i am such a noob i dint even know what rooting my Magic was for :/.
Could you tell me what rooting is for ? eg if i root my device once does that mean i can use all the stuff you guys are uploading eg just put a theme on it straight away?
Cheers James
rooting your phone gives you controll of the / files of yoru phone. It lets you install roms and such. i suggest looking at the latest video of rooting your magic and the video of how to install a rom. it'll put you right at par with where alot of users on this forum are at. only like 15 mins of video too.

Hi,
I'm going to release a new rom based on stock rom very soon. However before I release I want to send it to a small group of beta testers to ensure it doesn't have problems.
I would prefer if you know how to use logcat and know how to send me a logcat file, as well as knowing how to make nandroid backups (and restoring them where necessary ). It would also help if you can follow instructions
If you're interested, please do PM me. Include your phone model (P920 or P925) so I can keep track of phone-specific problems.
As for the feature request bit, comment on what features you would like. I will try not to deviate from the stock rom (v21D in this case) by too much, so I won't do any theming. Don't ask me to solve GC issues, I can't do that. Neither can I make ICS for us. I'm not a kernel hacker either. However, any reasonable feature request should be posted here and I'll see what I can do. Don't bet on every suggestion being included though
Good!!! i am anticipating to see your work!!! btw, i really need a function to tweak the cpu voltage to save battery as i find the battery really drain very fast!!! This is my suggestion, thankyou

I can't do that, it's kernel related and I have no experience with it. Maybe when I have time I'll try to learn.

Hi,
2 things desperately needed --
Internet Pass Through (like HTC devices so that the PC internet can be used on the O3D)
USB on the go
would love to see that in your ROM --

Okay heres my story and it is true. I have tried a few roms out there for some time now. And I know most are a working in progress... But this had happen to me twice now and I need some help. While on a couple custom roms I would get a VERY IMPORTANT call and low and behold something happens and the call is dropped on my end.... I am bored with the stock rom... I just switched back to the leaked ATT 4.0.3 ICS rom.... Can anyone recommend a custom rom that is rock solid? With all the bugs fixed and all. Like I said earlier the stock roms are very boring to me. Thanks in advance for any help.
Andy
You have to understand that each device is different, your perspective of "stable" is different from everyone else. I'm sorry but best bet is you reading the rom threads and making your mind up from your own experience. I will be locking this thread.
Cheers
THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN ABANDONED.SORRY :crying:
Sorry guys. This project has been abandoned due to not much development skills, family problems, focus on study so there's no time to work on this project.
I hope the rom by PolishVodka will be fixed so you can taste Nougat :fingers-crossed:
I think Aosp Or CM 14 would be good.Thank You. I can be the tester for you ;D
Best option will be CM14.1. In poll it should go rather to AOSP or Customized category?
And of course, I can test things
Latest AOSP 7.1.1 already built alot "customized" inside, Janice will too heavy to load if more customized. Except you will make CM14.1 smaller and add OC inside. Testers are always ready... LOL XD
I don't have this device but I'm willing to help port nougat to this device. I believe that CM14.1 is easier to port because ace 2 has CM14.1 and we can use its patches and misc. stuff. Also, Epirex already started N bringup last time but it's not complete:
https://github.com/Epirex/android_device_samsung_janice/commits/cm-14.0
https://github.com/Epirex/android_device_samsung_u8500-common/commits/cm-14.0
Good Luck
NEWS!
I'm working on it soon and I will be helped by my friend who interested to join this project.
But! This ROM may be coming in 4 or 5 months or possibly 6 months because I have to start focus on my study next month.
If I still not developing Nougat for this device in more than 6 months, it surely have been abandoned.
Someone could develop Nougat for this device soon?
well good luck bruv. i would be happy to test it.. and well studies are important , you take your time .
Thank you for understanding,dude.
Honestly speaking 4 or 5 month or maybe never... is way too LOOOONNNNNGGGGG...... LOL
Suggestion u ask ChronoMonochrome and SergeyL that active developer for Ace2 that build CM14.1 to help u. They are good XDA member that willing too help community. Maybe will at least faster boot up seriously.

First boot can took around 10-15min so please be patience if you see boot animation.
Of course waiting for any feedback, screenshots if Rom booting.
Happy flashing.
PS. Aroma features, except Janice model changer, doesn't applied yet, so leave everything's as default.

no it doesn't boot i tried it after installing the rom
and the recovery is gone
I've been an XDA dead member for nearly six years now yet I've never made a post. I'm tired of waiting for a custom rom to be ported to my phone. I guess what I'm wondering is can anybody link me a post describing the step by steps of how to Port a custom rom from one phone to another. If someone can do that for me I promise to port as many ROMs as I can, to help expand the open source projects, giving credit where credit is doing. Thanks so much. :victory:
