Hello everyone,
I've heard people saying it was not possible to develop ROMs for Lenovo phones due to lack of source code.
Today while visiting the support site I see that Source code for several phones like P700i(MTK6577),S660(MTK 6582m),A7-30 Tablet(MT8382 ) are present at the lenovo website.
LINK:http://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/us/en
Just enter the name of your phone model in the search bar to check if source code is available.
Hope to see some ROMs coming soon.:good:
thnx mate
hey thnx buddy....you saved d day...
Downloading now and will check source files.
Okay I hope this would help in ROM development

Sorry mate. I'm sure devs are working on it. But the link you provided is solely for kernel only. There are many device specific codes required to start off with the custom firmware. Guess we'll have to wait at the moment.

Thanks a lot for the reply. Can you please educate me on the device specific codes that are required for a custom rom?

Well to say the truth, I do not know how to put it in words. You see it's the codes that are published by vendors for the device, and some by developer themselves. It contains some proprietary codes mostly in "*.mk" files, some "*.c" files and so on. Device codes can be cloned from similar devices like for our device, we could clone Nexus 5X's source codes for CyanogenMod or for similar ROMs. But still vendor codes for the device is mandatory to get a working device with fewer flaws. And device codes, maybe devs are working on it. We need to be patient until someone comes up...

Hello,
I'm trying to create a CM port for my Getnord Onyx device.
As far as I know, to do this I need kernel source code with all of it's patches. So I contacted manufacturer and nicely asked them to give me the source code, but they didn't reply.
What should I do? And I don't think that GNU General Public Licence is going to help me here (or can it, if so: how do I use it?)
Thank you!
The Linux kernel is licensed under GNU and they are required to release the kernel but alot of Chinese manufacturers don't do it. You can use a prebuilt kernel for cyanogenmod but don't expect new Android versions.

Is it possible to somehow decompile Kernel from my phone?

No, but you can use the prebuilt kernel for cyanogenmod but you won't be able to upgrade Android versions
Having the same issue with Blu. using the prebuilt kernel, is there any chance a newer Android version than what it came with would work?

When they said there is no source code, that means the manufacturer or your service provider has not released the source code to the public, that means there won't be any custom ROMs for you until they release the source code, they might not ever release your source code to the public. You are wasting your time looking for a ROM.

Hello,
I have just signed the petition "MediaTek: Source code for UMIDIGI Z PRO" and I wanted to ask you if you also participate.
Our goal is to collect 500 signatures and we need support for that. Here you can learn more about the petition:

Don't you have already a 8.1.2 fiber OS rom?
Why do you need source code?
You have started a fake rom thread in the past days. Why we should listen to you?

Our problem with you is that we don't believe you, because you seem to be an ignorant or an unconscious. You can't say that you have a ROM if you don't have it, and you don't have it because you can't have it, because to develop the ROM you need the Mediatek source code, which is not available.
So, can you explain what are you doing and how?
Interesting... He not explain, but i'll very happy if we get a great ROM in this Great Phone....
It's a fake.
Don't trust him
