I have an HTC One sv, android 4.2.2
I did changes to "default.xml" file in \system\customize\cid\, but after factory reset all change go back to its default stare,
how can I do a stable change to this file?
You have no S-Off and no custom Kernel?

Stock kernel and S-On has write protection. Any changes made will be removed upon restarting your device. They are merely temporary changes.

I built this for those of you who prefer to be on a mostly stock kernel.
It is all stock except:
[+] you can write to /system !
[+] add adb root
[+] support init.d
I will not be modifying, maintaining, updating, or otherwise doing anything else with this.

Nope, network is fine.
After flashing this kernel and upon starting it says in red this build is for development purposes only do not distribute outside of htc without written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action. Is this normal how to remove it ??
It is because you unlocked it via HTCDEV.com. It isn't because you flashed this kernel.
We can't remove this message.

Will this kernel help my device to prevent it from auto install chinese app? currently my phone is on stock rom with rooted, TWRP and unlock bootloader. everytime i restart my phone, the chines apps are auto installed which is very boring me as those are not useful for me & i tried to remove or delete all the time.
You know reason why those app are auto installed?

You can extract the recovery image from any RUU or OTA. That is the stock recovery.
I need a RUU for tmob-101 and couldn't find it.

You need to be on stock recovery in order to fix The Unmountable SDcard Issue, or to take official OTAs.
@ Specimann & Jochman
Search your RUUs here or here. If you don't find what you're searching for, there possibly isn't any.

Someone should remove the VilleC2 that is on top of that Ville list.
Hi,
I want to remove my friends htc one xl's branding by tmobile and flash a miui rom. After hours searching this forum(s), i have a little idea of what i have to do, like i have to unlock bootloader, some s-off thing, flash a custom recovery and then flash rom. As i come from samsung forums, i have no idea of how this works and even hours of research havent helped me out. So i would be glad if anyone could tell me what i should do to at the end i get miui. (I think flashing custom rom removes branding, doesnt it?)
Thanks very much in advance

First of all we need to make sure you're in the right place. Is the phone an Evita (One XL)?
Sent from my Evita
Unlock bootloader
Flash twrp
Flash Su
S-off
Flash anything.
Never used samsung but it seems like anyone who comes from Samsung phones tend to be ridiculously noobish. I suggest reading through the stickies in q&a and android dev and original android dev if things don't make sense to you. This phone is quirky but once you actually understand what you're doing and why, it's simple. Lazyness will brick you. Also, never root these for a friend or they will be calling you when something goes wrong. And something will go wrong.

Normal way, i think:
1/ Check your computer, have ADB and htc sync install or not, if not, download them and install them.
2/ Boot into bootloader, and check your status of hboot, build. If your hboot, build are qualified to get root, go to this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952038
3/ After unlock boot-loader, go do soff to install custom RUU:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155071
4/Flash TWRP recovery (google and download it, latest build 2.6.0.0)
5/ Install any rom you want
PS: for MIUI rom, you dont need to soff and hboot required, thats mean you just only care about: UNLOCK BOOTLOADER, ROOT, TWRP recovery.
So first, go to htcdev.com and unlock bootloader for your phone, after that, check if your phone can root or not and install TWRP recovery then flash MIUI rom.
So thats all you need, maybe it not clear too, but you need to give me some infor about ur phone, so we can find right solution. I am noob too haha
Ok, so:
1/ yes ive got adt with adb tools included; im on linux so i think no htc driver needed
Well, if i dont need soff thats good
Thx, clear guide man

Also, is it possible to have the Sense 5 Toolbox on the Stock ROM? If not is ARHD available for the Mini?

I got it to work in the meanwhile, but I still don't fully get the Volume2Wake. When the phone is charging it works every time, but when its on battery its as if the phone goes to sleep, so it can only be waken up by the power button. Some times if I press the vol button to wake, right after I lock the device it works flawlessly.
