Google Now Question - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I've searched, and I can't find out how to turn off the google now option when holding the home button. It's annoying as hell, and I never use it. Is there something I'm missing?

Go to your apps and look for Google Settings. Tap on Search and Now. Drag the button to the off position and you're done.

If you're talking about the ring navigation thing, Gravity Box has mods for it that work on this device. You can change/add targets or disable the ring altogether

App Drawer Shortcut

I am using Apex launcher on Embryo.
Somehow I ended up with a blueish, half circle shaped tab on the left side of my homescreen. When I click on the half circle tab it opens a type of app drawer where I can vertically scroll through my apps.
I am not sure how it got there and I cant figure out how to turn it back off.
I know this is a stupid question but I cant figure it out! Hopefully someone can help me get rid of this thing.
Long press. Remove

Display settings and uncheck multi-window (I think, I remember it being there), or what xcrazydx says.

[Q] Swicthing between the Status bars

OK when you pull down your status bar, you can sometimes (on some roms) swipe to the right or left on a blank spot and it will switch over to the Quick Tiles pulldown.
I have tried looking everywhere that lets me turn it on, or a Xposed module, etc.
I have no idea what it is really called. Anyone know/can help?
Roms that have it.

Roms that don't
Stock Roms, etc.
Thanks again for any info as this is bugging me.

But that only lets you from pulldown. I'm talking about when it is already pulled down. You swipe (like you would to clear a notification) on a empty spot and it takes you to quick tiles, and vise versa.

Oh right. It doesn't have a name. I don't know anyway to get this without flashing a rom to get it
Damn... that's the last thing that's driving by ocd crazy... My favorite rom doesn't have that and I have no idea what it's called or how to add it.

On the stock ROM, when you pull down the status bar, the icon on the right side top allows you to toggle between notifications screen and the quick tiles. Are you looking for that, but with a swipe instead? (if so, why not just click that icon instead? Saves you a swipe)
The swipe is good an easy. I missed it. The icon is just a bit too far away. Glad I have it in slim

My right thumb can barely move due to a injury. So swiping helps quite a lot.
ok, make sense

How do I disable Google now?

Hey folks,
How do I disable Google now, just like the PAC-MAN rom does? I don't want to freeze the app with Titanium, etc., I want to disable the effect when you press and hold the home button on the nav bar, so it won't launch Google now (by pulling that ring upwards.) I hate it. I keep accidentally hitting it all the time, esp when I clean my screen on my shirt sleeve.
Thanks for any help.

I use SlimKat and in Settings/Navigation Navigation Bar/Ring Target, the Google search option is listed. If you have that, just swipe it to disable the setting.

Pressure Sensitive Homebutton

Was there any real reason to add this feature? Does it actually serve any sort of function?
It brings up Google assistant on my phone.
I use it to wake my phone when it is in my desk and just put in the pin if I just want to check a notification real quick without picking up the phone.

It's so you don't mistakenly wake the phone. But playing around with the display I can't decide if the entire display is pressure sensitive, or it just takes you longer to push hard. But it seems if you push hard on the icons the long press context menu pops up (no tactile feedback).
I changed the sensitivity to the most sensitive in the settings, it doesn't really add any feature but it makes pressing the home button feel a little bit nicer.

you can find it in the settings where you can change the navigation bar around, just a few options below it.
Home Button
It was originally where the fingerprint scanner was suppose to be.

A solution for what exactly?
Do you not see any options in your lockscreen settings to disable notifications pull down menu while on lockscreen.

No, there aren't. From the lockscreen, you can silence the phone, put it into airplane, or anything in pulldown. I wouldn't be able to to track it on airplane mode. I thk I SHOULD be able to disable the pulldown, and watched several videos and searched around.
Thanks for your help

I don't understand why you don't have these settings in your stock system settings somewhere. Is there nothing in your notification settings?

I have settings/notifications toggles, but you can still use the pulldown menu.
