Latest Google Camera is now available at Playstore
I curious on Note 3 owners going to use Google Camera over Stock phone camera. I can't decide but low light pictures seems better on Google's . Thoughts please share ...

Low light on the Note 3 using Google camera app.

Same conditions: angle, distance, ligt (low light)
Samsung camera:
Google camera:
Some differences: (S=samsung, G=google)
For the same distance, Google camera cropping is wider, also more noisier/sharper.

Just realized that you took the extra effort and wrote down G or S on the objects that you took a pic of. Made me lol! Great idea and 5 stars for the effort

So which camera app is your daily driver ?

Low resolution and doesn't have the overall quality of stock camera but its a neat novelty

The blur photo option is neat

It's not a one stop replacement to the stock camera. However, this is the first release....I am sure with updates we will have more to see.

There are a lot of good camera apps out there. If most of them were previously mentioned. I paid for the Camera Zoom FX app, it's got a lot of cool filters that are quick and easy to apply....
The lens takes at least two seconds to auto focus in video recording mode while the iPhone 4s is instant. I know this problem is rectified for galaxy s2 owners by downloading lgcamera app which allows you to change the auto focus mode, but the app doesn't work properly for us. Is there any solution for us skyrocket owners?

Kamcorder in the market is working well for me but I am still looking for something with more settings.

Thanks for the useful reply.... That app does nothing for auto focus

It auto focuses just fine for me ??? Sorry it doesn't meet your needs
(When you mentioned LG cam I got the impression you were looking for an app, kamcorder is what I started using when I found LG cam did not work)
I guess if you were looking for iPhone functionality I could give my typically Icrap response....get an iPhone

Perhaps you could use camera fix from the market

No rom with Camera Zoom. You have to pay for that. I did and it's a great app!
..
Digital zoom is the same as zooming in on the picture when you crop it. Optical zoom isn't possible with a fixed lenses like the nexus s has.
Most phones are digital zoom. Even iPhone 4/4s is digital zoom.

IPhone has a better camera period. So when crop it/digital zoom in it will look better.

no optical zoom. any app that includes a zoom functionality would be digital nothing you can;t achieve by manipulating after taking the picture with any photo touch up program, by zooming cropping and stretching it (take your pick gimp photoshop etc ... may be there such programs in the market )
Mine already set to high quality but I see some grainy picture compare to Netflix. Is there any solution on this?

If you tap the settings while playing a YouTube video, an option for HD & SD is available. Maybe you already know this but I thought I'd share.

Try 4.4.2 it's much better for our device

I was really impressed with Galaxy S5s selective focus mode. It would be amazing to have that feature on Nexus 5!
Any more info?

I have a similar request of this sort, maybe an app that can focus on a single object and blur out the background. Is such a thing possible for the nexus 5?

sure, i do it all the time on my nexus 5. get the object you want focused on in your screen, tap the image in your screen(touch to focus), shoot. your object will be in focus while everything else gets blurred.
Thanks mate

the closer that you are to the object, like a macro shot, the more blur you will get around, while the object in focus stays focused.
Look for tilt-shift functions.
CameraZoom FX has it for example.
