Call reject and blocking - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

In earlier versions of android there was a way to maintain a blacklist of phone numbers to reject. But I can't find this in android 4.4.2. Did they remove it?

No, there's no native feature like that..
However, you can try this out : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mrnumber.blocker
Not sure whether it works or not..

Are you on stock or custom rom?
If your on a custom rom then there is a blacklist setting under the phone dialer and under security. You can block calls/texts and unknown numbers. It's a very nice feature

I remember that, it must have been the ASOP dialer because it is not in the new Google Dialer. I ran Carbon on my Nexus 4 and remember that feature so I would say it is a feature of ASOP dialer.

Yes it used to be there and I recall a YouTube that showed how to use it. I'm on stock 4.4.2 and it's no longer there.
I'm afraid all the phone blocking apps probably just steal your contacts......
Too bad.

Not on my Nexus 5, stock rom. Maybe you have a custom rom.

I've used root call blocker from play store. Works great. Free version is a bit limiting tho. But still good. And stable. For me anyway.

OK, then if you're rooted you can use xposed with call blocker, you can find it on xda portal or in xposed download section

Good idea. I didn't know xposed had a module to block calls.

[MOD] i9505g 4.2.2/4.3 Google Wallet Fix + Nfc Secure Element fix even with deodex.

What this is: This is a modification of NfcNci.apk to allow access to the secure element even on deodexed roms. Also included is a version of Wallet that doesn't care about root.
Note: These files are from the 4.3 leak for i9505g, they *Might* work for other builds, if not you can use the writeup to roll your own version.

Here is a version of the same for the 4.2.2 Google Edition build as well.
Thanks to mrvirginia for the zip.

Cool!
Been waiting for this to make its way to our beloved i9505.
One more thing, does this work in Europe? With local currency?
currently my GE zip needs Superuser to be disabled but i will update it here shortly. you won't need to update OP, will be same zip in same location
thanks again for all of your help, Fenny!
edit: zip updated. my wallet no longer cares about root either
Hi folks.
Fyi
I have already done a build for TW roms deodex or odex. Also works on screenoff.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43370468
Which is in beta. I call it beta as I cant test nfc payment or google wallet as its not available in the uk.
But the bypass has been implemented.
Great work Fenny btw on the google wallet. And your explanation.

This may mean that Google wallet does not like your carrier or region. I will have to take a look at the Google Wallet apk and see if there is something we can bypass on the client side. Are there any Error logs or relevant looking Infornational logs in your logcat when you try?

Sorry I should been more clear. Tested on MrVirginia's ROM and worked perfect. I tried on Jamison's Google ROM and that's when I received the error. I'm not home at the moment to do a logcat. Carrier is T Mobile and location is Virginia.

Hmm, in that case (off the top of my head), perhaps the build.prop has been modified in some way that it's not liking, or maybe a set of lib files has been removed/replaced... Could also be a kernel HW module support thing. Any chance of a logcat?
I do seem to recall MrVirginia's ROM being fairly close to stock...

Either should work. The one here has hard coded values from The i9505G build.prop, but they are the same values as from the ROM you are using's build.prop (I just checked.)
I did a diff of the method names in the NfcNci.apk from the ROM you are using, and the one in the mod. There were indeed differences, so I've built a new version using your Chef's NfcNci as a source.

I can make one later when I am not devving on my home box from my phone via SSH.
You might need to clear data for the Wallet app. The only other thing that I can think of is that maybe the kernel in that ROM is breaking secure storage access somehow.

Your build.prop is currently set to SGH-M919G (presumably default from the ROM you have installed).... change it to GT-I9505G and it will work.

[ROM] [4.4] [UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod11

I've compiled CM11 for the Evita and it's been running great for me for the last week, so I thought I'd share it with the community. These are compiled straight from the source https://github.com/cyanogenmod. Thanks to the whole CM team for the hardwork, and PA/BaNkS for the GApps. Use the provided recovery, as I haven't had success with flashing through TWRP.
To install do the following:
1) In fastboot, fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
2) reboot to recovery then install CM11 followed by PA 4.4 Gapps (Or BaNkS GApps)(wipe cache/dalvik cache)
3) ???
4) Profit!
11/28 Build has a cherry=pick based on this commit to enable NFC HCE (Host-based Card Emulation) meaning GoogleWallet tap-to-pay is now enabled! If you have GWallet, report back if this works for you.
12/4 Build incorporates fix found by phoenixita to make build flashable via twrp! Also, netflix and other video services appear to be working without a grey block taking up 50% of the video.

Nope, I've just been running stock.
Does anybody know where I can find settings to change the battery icon to the circle with percentage numbers in the center? Also have lockscreen targets been implemented yet? Lastly can I remap buttons yet? Thanks op, it's running great!
Does tap to pay with Google Wallet work? I've tried beanstalk 4.4 and I couldn't make it work. After I spend my free $20 I got from signing up for ISIS I'm ready to ditch the stock ROM and get back on the bleeding edge of things.
Excuse my ignorance, but what id ART.

The PA full package from the OP. It says that ART is supported, but all I got was Google+, Gmail, sysUI, and other crashes.
After installing 4.4 and Gapps, I went to developer settings, switched to ART, and it made me reboot. There aren't any other steps to take first, are there?

As far as I know, simply updating your firmware won't stop you from being able to use the apk. I believe even installing custom firmware won't render the apk serial useless as long as it's the same phone you initially installed the apk+serial on
