Gtalk service Monitor has stopped running after rooting - Sony Xperia L

Yesterday I rooted my Xperia - L using the method given in my signature. Today I tried to bring up Gtalk Service Monitor by punching *#*#8255#*#* from the dialer. To my surprise, I found that the Service Monitor page was blank. Only a single button called Send heartbeat to server was there. If I click on Logging, it only says that Not running. Does someone have any fix for the problem?

I just opened up the Hangout app once and Service Monitor logs have started appearing.

Won't connect to android market ()

Hello everyone,
Just got a new LG Optimus One.
I'm having trouble connecting to Android Market, I get the following error message.
"A network error has occurred. retry or cancel and return to the previous screen" and some other times it comes up with another error message ""No connection" (text) "Retry" (button)"
I can connect to the internet via the phones built-in web browser so it's not a network issue and the android market works when I'm connected to a WiFi access point.
What do you think I could do to fix this problem.
Kind Regards,
dmk0

I can't test it, as I only have 3G and WiFi. I read it somewhere that's why I posted. And as he said Market works on WiFi. It is obvious right?
Edit: I was right, Market does not work on GPRS. 2G is too slow for Market

Market version 2.3.x (old market) works on 2G/EDGE. New Market (3.0) does not work on 2G/EDGE.
Not sure if I should put this in a new thread or continue it here because my problem got worse.
I decided to do a factory reset of the phone and it ended up making things worse.
Now the inbuilt web browser works but none of the applications worked with the internet connection. I tried android market, gmail and youtube apps and none of them worked. Where as gmail email app worked before.
When I try to enter Username and Password for the gmail account (I wait for a few minutes with the waiting message "Your phone needs to communicate with Google's servers..." Once that's finished thinking I get the following error message "Can't Establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care.".
I'm in 3G mode all the time (with three and sometimes four bars). Sometimes in a mode called "E" which I suppose is Edge and I've been trying all night and haven't had any luck.
I might bite the bullet and call customer care to try and help me but with my previous experience I don't expect they can offer me much help other than returning my phone and asking for a new one. My professional experience with phones tells me there shouldn't be a fault but I cannot put myself to fault. There must be something fishy going on with this phone.
EDIT: (Additional Info) When I try to connect to the Weather I also get the error message "Weather service is temporarily unavailable." Just after I tried the web browser and google loads up fine.
Market 3.4.4 work 2g/edge but when 2g speed is very slow it gives same error i also have this problem but this is not the problem of market it is the problem of speed because sometime 2g speed is very slow i from india in which 2g speed very slow so sometime market give the error.
problem solved!
i had this same problem on my coby kyros tablet. it doesn't have any connection other than wifi, and i could browse the web, but not connect to the market.
after trying a few different things i noticed the time was way off, and went to fix it, then realized that some how the date had been changed to jan, 27th, 2011. i changed the date, time, and time zone, and the market started working perfectly.
DOUBLE CHECK YOU TIME, DATE, AND TIME ZONE!
get your old market back!!!

i had also this problem.....
just try again in MORNING (6:00 AM) ....
really it will work...as congestion is minimum in morning ...
I got the phone from Virgin Mobile with there settings preconfigured. It's VM branded too.
I re-entered APN and mysteriously it worked, sad thing is the APN I entered was exactly the same except I changed two of the characters from lowercase to uppercase.

Google Talk - Delayed Incoming Notifications

Hey guys,
Tried searching for this, but nada.
Anyone else having issues with your phone being idle but powered on ans upon bringing on the screen you receive a google talk notification that's old? Is been happening to me lately, and I can't tell if it's the phone or the fact that my desktop version is intercepting the message and preventing the phone notification.
I'm tempted to no longer use the desktop built in gmail version, but I wanted to see if others are having similar issues.
Thanks in advance!

Can't guarantee this, but I have a feeling it may have something to do with the phone letting the Google talk process close when the phone is in it's sleep state. I've noted that I keep having to re sign in to gtalk when I wake up my phone and suspect that it is an issue with the horrible multitasking that HTC has bundled into sense 4.0.
I assume both of you also get delayed notifications with push email using the native Gmail app? I also frequently get logged out of Google Talk when I put the phone in standby mode. When I am logged out of Google Talk, my push emails are delayed in the Gmail app until I log back into Google Talk.
So it seems to be some problem of getting disconnected from google services when the phone is asleep.
I don't think i've been getting delayed notifications, but I do notice that my chat gets out of order a lot. My replies will be above whoever is talking to me no matter what order each was sent in.
Almost every phone that comes out gets a google talk going eventually so there is lots out there, but each phone has it's own issues. Here is a thread that was pretty good from the Galaxy Nexus Forums.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1400367
With the HOX I have had issues with Google Talk not working great when the wifi is dropping, so this might be part of the wifi issue that pretty much everybody is having with this phone. The wifi stays connected but seems to go to sleep so your phone only gets the notification once it is woken up. Try turning off the wifi and seeing if you have the same problem.
As for Google Talk, there are some oddities that go along with using it on multiple devices. Here is some stuff I figured out playing around with it on multiple devices and computers at the same time. (I posted this in the GN forums as well)
"Google Talk is my main means of communication it seems so I have played with it a lot. Here are my observations.
1. To keep it "up" all the time in the Talk App hit the menu button (three dots now) >settings>uncheck automatic away status. Also make sure your phone has automatic syncing turned on for your gmail account: Setting>Accounts and Sync>ON (for your chat gmail address anyway). Additionally make sure your mobile data is turned on if you are ever off wifi: Settings>More>Mobile networks>Data Enabled (checked to turn on)
2. You can have up to 6 devices linked to your talk account at once, after that they just stop working.
3. When you receive a IM it appears on both your phone and your gmail account. If you start typing on the gmail account (or G+) it hijacks the whole session and you phone no longer gets the notifications, but the conversation still shows up on the chat window on the phone. When you are done with the IM session make sure you close the window on gmail (or G+) and send one last message from your phone or tablet to take the session back over, if you don't your phone will not receive future chat notifications. You can also just log out of your gmail/G+ session and it will automatically return everything to your phone/tablet but who ever does that?
4. To figure out how it all worked and tinker with it I use both of my gmail accounts and chat back and forth with them. You can do it from separate browsers or just open an incognito window in Chrome and log into your other gmail account. I would recommend this so you can see all of this stuff in practice.
Good Luck, hope this helps"
Gtalk and gmail delays
Hi all,
I have performed tests and discovered that if i disable WiFI and only use the phone's data connection "4g" or LTE that i receive all my messages with no problem even when the phone locks/goes to sleep. However if i leave wifi turned on, within 5-10 seconds i stop receiving them and will only receive them when i wake up the phone/unlock or wait for the delay which can be anywhere from 5-15 mins.
Trying to figure out a way to by pass this, but can't seem to figure it out. I don't want to keep my wifi off when i'm at work or home so i don't use data as i have 3GB and not unlimited so it kind of sucks that i have to keep wifi off for now. Any thoughts/ideas would be great, thanks.

This. I have issues with timely/accurate reception of notifications from GV. I only use my account for voicemail, but typically I only get voicemail notifications if I open the actual application (which I do because my gmail account receives an email notification now, as well). Sometimes I notice GV as a running task, but often times not, so to me it seems that (possibly) multitasking or some other form of process management in ICS or Sense is not prioritizing the GV process and it's associated actions. I dont mind the aggressive multitasking, but it would be nice to have the option of protecting some processes, such as GV.
I removed google + app completely with titanium backup, and the problem is gone., I get the messages immediately
Push Notifications Fixer can fix it

I'm running the latest Viper, I've never had an issue receiving or sending msgs. The only time the phone won't alert me is if I am actively typing in the browser window.
I'll note though that I never have wifi on, it's always on the mobile network.

I tried everything not even this works for me
Same problem, screen off - phone disconnects, unlock the phone - messages start to appear
Same problem on 2 different phones and 2 different numbers
I don't use G Talk, but I see the same thing with G Voice. I almost never get voicemail notifications on my HOX (they show up instantly on my old GNex). I blame Sense (for this and other things).
Same problem, but with Nexus 4 when I am on WiFi. With data connection, it works without problems.

[Q] Unable to Setup Whatsapp

Hi,
Just received my new Xperia L. Was trying to setup whatsapp on my phone but the following message appears everytime:
"Your phone date is inaccurate! Adjust your clock and try again". FYI, I use a wi-fi network at home. I have not activated any 2G/3G services. After a bit of googling, I tried deleting the network settings and checked again but of no avail. No matter what I tried, I seem to hit a dead-end.
Any leads from the members?
Thanks!

Found this quote from the Xperia L Community forums: http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/142297
"I used to have this issue on my Live with Walkman (WT19i) too. Take your sim out, place it again, then start the phone. Go to time and date and set Use Network for Tine and Date settings."
Please report back if this worked for you.

LG G3 stopping AirDroid service

Hey guys, your app is awesome! It's always the first app i suggest to people looking for a useful Android app, keep it up!!
I just got the new LG G3 and I've noticed a strange issue. I start up AirDroid on my cell and it seems to be running fine; I can access the website and do whatever I would normally do. Then I leave the website and my cell alone for about 30mins to do whatever else.
When I come back to the website, it says the AirDroid service was stopped by device and it has to reconnect. On my cell it looks like the service is still running but upon opening it, it has indeed disconnected from the website. While this isn't horrible, I often miss texts or calls because I'm used to seeing the desktop notifications the website provides when its connected.
I had a Galaxy S3 prior to this LG G3 and never ran into a similar issue. Any idea what the problem could be, and how to fix it? Thanks again!

Hi, thx for supporting us!
Would you please check the following settings:
1. Go to Settings of AirDroid app on your device > check if you’ve turned off Power saving mode.
2. Open Settings in your device > "WLAN" > "Advanced" > select "Always" in "Keep WLAN on during sleep".
Here is an similar issue, I hope it helps: http://forum.airdroid.com/discussion/comment/8405#Comment_8405
And if you have any further question about AirDroid, you can post a new thread in our sub forum.
I've moved your post to this new thread.

[Q] Autoremote - Have to register multiple times every days

AutoRemote on android and AutoRemote extension on Google Chrome "PC"
Hi,
First... Thank's to everyone who will read this and try to help me. I looked everywhere I could before posting here... Google search - joaomgcd Google + page - joaomgcd Google groups. I tried my best to find as much information I could and I tried everything I tought. Now, I'm asking for your help!!
I'm using AutoRemonte on My android and on my pc with the autoremote extension. I have a few profile setup with tasker.
By example, I use this profile HERE and it is working.
My problem is the following:
Connexion problem between AutoRemote android app and AutoRemote Chrome Browser.. But absolutely no problem between AutoRemote android app and EventsGhost on pc.
If my phone is booted for about 1 hours or more, the connection between my android device and the Chrome Browser seems to be broken on 1 side.
- The messages sent from the Chrome Browser are sent but the phone never receive them.
- The message sent from my android device are sent and received by the browser.
If I reboot my device, the connexion is completely broken.
- The messages sent from the Chrome Browser are sent but the phone never receive them.
- The message sent from my android device are sent but the Chrome browser never receive them.
What I tried to solve it
In Both situations, I found a way to repair the connection simply by changing the state of the network connection on the android device.
- Original state wifi on
Put wifi off
- Original State 3G
Put wifi on
After this, the messages will be sent and received from both side and will work on 3G or wifi but after an hours or so... The problem come back.
Greenify
I thought the this app could be the problem so I uninstalled it. The problem was still there..
Low Memory killer
I also thought that the android memory manager could be the cause of the problem so I changed the value to the lowest with the help of Rom Tool Box Pro. The problem was still there..
I found in the AutoRemote FAQ a similar problem and they said to use PNF to resolve the problem with the GCM by sending heartbeat more frequently.. So I tried it.. The problem was still there..
I always have 3 instances of Google Chrome running on 3 differents pc's all connected with my google account, so I thought that it could be the problem.. I signed off from all instances except the one at my work.. The problem was still there..
----------------------------------UPDATE----------------------------------
I posted a question on my ROM google+ page to know if it's a known problem https://plus.google.com/110548826938886642476/posts/1dZUTVEPA52
----------------------------------UPDATE----------------------------------
I just created a Tasker profile that will use AutoRemote to send a message to my Chrome Browser every minutes.
-
Ok it's not solving the problem.. The messages from the device are always sent but the messages from the Chrome Browser are not received on the android device.. I really think that the problem is on the phone side.. But I don't think it is the GCM because if someone send me a hangout message or if I receive a gmail.. The notification always arrive... The problem is only with the AutoRemote app between the it and the Chrome Browser.. I don't have this problem with a computer using EventGhost..
I will add more information as soon as I get it.
Thank's again for your help!
