Hi everybody,
I would like to ask you if there is any way to search for a specific word(s) on any page, file or app that is open on the screen.
This feature exists in almost all Windows applications by pressing ctrl+f but unfortunately I have not found a similar way search for text on Android.
Do you have any ideas whether this feature is possible or not?
Thanks a lot!

Can I map an application to the short-press of the power button?
I'd like the connection manager to show up rather than the profiles list.
Is that possible? If so, how?
Couldn't find no .lnk that seemed to fit so I guess it's a registry thing...?
Saw some similar threads in other device specific forums but didn't find any actual answer, figured the keymapping is device specific thus didn't post in the new general forum, hope my thinking was right.
You can map an application to the short-press of the power button with CeleTask. Open CeleTask, go to Tools-Action-Add Tool, choose thru "..." application you need, and mark "REPLACE QUICK LIST". Thats all. Good luck;-)
Celetask can do that too
Thanks for the info guys, I'll check that thing out.

Still, since I like to tweak my devices manually, does anyone know how changing the power button functionality works in detail?
Make copy of your registry before you doing manipulation with CeleTask and after. Compare them, and you will see where in registry you can do what you want;-)
Hi Everyone,
The is the first time I've started a thread, and I have searched, but possibly not with the right search terms.
What I'd love to have is a way to go directly to a website without first going into favorites and finding it. The first site I thought of for this was Youmail.com, so I could get to visual voicemail with one button press.
I'm using SPB MS 2.12, if that matters.
Anyone know how to accomplish this?
thanks in advance
Criss
you can create a *.lnk file with the website you desire to go to.. (e.g. http://www.youmail.com) and use HButton to assign it to a hardware button.
HButton can be found in google or in this forum. very easy to implement.
btw, creating the *.lnk file means creating an empty file in windows, writing its name and putting its format as lnk. then edit it with the web address.
I know with the IPhonz app you can create direct shortcuts to websites using the IPhonz launch buttons - Pretty easily. You can do this with Ultimate Launch as well, I have a few set up myself with my ultimate launch setup - and maybe with Throttle launcher - Have not used throttle launcher either but might be worth looking into. You can also search for a home plugin to create your own shortcuts and launcher button. I know there are a few but cannot think of them at the top of my head since I do not use them. I Use Ultimate Launch and had previously used IPhonz IPhonz is free - Ultimate Launch you must pay for if you don't want the full version withouth the words "trial" in the corners of your screen.
Thanks
Thanks for the feedback guys.
Hi im trying to open notepad + write message on my android app which is connected through bluetooth to the computer using Listener (Visual Studio). The problem im facing is that my button doesnt open notepad and also when i type a message on the edittext box nothing sends.
Could you please help. Thank you. (Ive also attached an image of which shows my app also the 'Open Notepad' button which im struggling to get working and a 'text field' with 'send' button which im also struggling with. Basically im trying to 'Open Notepad' when im connected to the PC via bluetooth with a program on Visual Studio called Listener which listens to incoming commands and i want the write words into the 'text field' which writes it onto notepad with the help of the 'send' button.)
Note: Ive attached the code. Thank you i really appreciate your help and guidance.
Why did you open two threads for this?
Please supply the code in a plain.txt file ,opening it with my code editor gives me just garbage.
Hi, I have unlocked LG (interop) and I want to search (a whole) a registry to find some keys/values, are there any apps to do that? Wp7 Root Tool has registry explorer but with no search feature.
Please post in right section. Moved to Q&A.
The "Registry Editor" app from TouchXperience.com can search key and value names (but not data - it claims it can, but that's a lie). If you mark it as Trusted in WP7 Root Tools, it will be able to search the entire registry; otherwise it can only search some parts.
Well, now that you have opened this thread, please have a look at what I want to say.
I am new to HTC Sensation and I have tried some apps which claim to add words from text file to Custom Dictionary. But there are some devices on which it does not work, and, unfortunately this does not work on Sensation either. So, I am having idea of an app which does the task in a new way:
All it should do is to 'read' words one by one from our given text file and then 'type' it in a text editor like New Message. But before it presses 'space', it should touch the first suggestion given above the keyboard. First suggestion is always the word that we originally type, no matter whether it is in dictionary or not. Touching it will add the word to dictionary. I believe that this is easier to apply as this is a manual method and does not require editing database file.
Second method (a bit more technical):
Open given text in a text editor like New Message or New Gmail email (gmail, because it also underlines words which are not in dictionary and supports big number of words). Then touch every word one by one. If a pop-up menu appears on a word then it must select the 'second-last' option. This is 'add to dictionary' button.
I am not a developer, if I were, I would have made this app myself. So I can only give theory.
If this can be applied, it can be useful for many users who use transliteration method to type in their languages.
