question about KitKat for P6810 - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, since I cant post on the development board (not enough posts) I´ll ask here.
I have a P6810 with official Android 4.0.4 and wonder if the KitKat roms available (Slim, CM, Omni) are stable and noticeably better than official 4.0.4? If so, which one is more mature/stable/recommended? Thanks a lot

All 3 have some nice features and have come a long way. Suggest you read the posts for each ROM and experiment with each to pick the one you like best. All of them are excellent to use as a daily ROM. If you have the room for backups you can do a backup on each as you set them up and switch as periodic releases are provided by Daniel. The releases (improvements) have been happening about every two weeks and it is amazing how the developer keeps them all current as possible.
Users have worked to keep the community up to date on potential issues and observations and reading the posts should answer many of your questions. :fingers-crossed: Best of luck and i hope you enjoy the ROMs as it seems that the developer does a wonderful job with each of them.

Thanks ColBill

No problem. Daniel released another version of the ROM (Carbon) yesterday or today. I'm trying this new ROM tonight. The writeup looks good and based on Daniel's prior work this ROM will be exceptional as well. Looking forward to playing with it. How you enjoy trying and picking a ROM good luck.:good:

What is stable for others may not be for you, best thing is to test/flash for yourself. Good to see you say you have been reading, outstanding!
Now Sir, take it to the next level run the ROMs for a few days to get the best test you can, Thanks

[Q] Feedback of [ROM][4.3][OFFICIAL & NIGHTLIES]MoKee OpenSource Project

Hi guys
My Atrix 2 is currently on jellybean leak. I want to upgrade to a newer version of android but stability is a big concern for me.
I was looking for best stable ROM for 4.3 or 4.4.2 and came across [ROM][4.3][OFFICIAL & NIGHTLIES]MoKee OpenSource Project
Because of my post count I can't post in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305303&highlight=bug
It would be great if you could give me heads up about bugs related to this rom or suggest any other more stable rom with virtually no bugs.

All bugs will be listed and/or discussed within the threads. It's best to go ahead and read through them so that you can make an informed decision as to which one will work best for you. There is no such thing as a "best ROM" as everyone's preferences and usage habits are different. Just do some reading and research then pick a few to try out. It's the best way to familiarize yourself with the flashing process anyway.

[Q] Best lp rom

Hi guys,
I'm currently running stock 11S. I've been patiently waiting for the official Cyanogen/OnePlus 12S LP release, but in light of the recent events between the two companies, I believe it'll take a while.
Anyways... There are plenty of LP-based roms here on XDA. Which one do you guys believe is the best and most stable for my main and only device?
Thanks in advance
I guarantee no one will reply cause you asked for a 'best rom'. but just to help you out I've heard that this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/rom-cm11-temasek-build-t2870743
Is the most stable rom. Just read the last 10 pages of most of the LP roms and you'll usually find people talking about stability etc.
Please follow the rules you agreed to when you joined.

Most stable lollipop rom

Hey guys I've had my g3 rooted for a couple months now and I have yet to find a really good ROM to use cm12 was to buggy and grew tired of nightlies. Liquidsmooth was really good only issue I had was Skype and hangouts. I'm on candy5 latest build now and I'm getting a lot of glitches, force closes, etc. I've clean installed the last 2 roms and experience problems. If Liquidsmooth didn't have that Skype issue I would probably stuck to it. Any ROM suggestions?

For the most part, all the AOSP Roms like the ones you received will have similar bugs until they are ironed out over time. The least buggy Roms are those based of the lg ROM. Right now there are only 2 stock lg lollipop Roms. Both of them are very stable however they're basically just rooted versions of the stock lollipop ROM.
I see thanks for the reply can you link me 2 the 2.

[ROM][STOCK][BUMP'd] LG D850 20F Lollipop 5.0.1 (+ extras)
TekROM - D850 - Stock 20f - Lollipop - Deodex/Root/Busybox
Keep in mind both still have all that carrier bloat we love to hate. I use the first rom without issue and debloated it myself using titanium backup.
I'm surprised we don't have more roms. It's a great phone but I feel that support is lacking.

It's because the development took and still takes lots of work. The devs had a lot of work just to root Lollipop, then to flash twrp. But I also do think that between all roms available (including KK roms and LP roms) we don't have as many as other devices from the same gen have. Heck, I had my Galaxy S3 and there were ports for everything. Can't complain though, between the stock ones and illusion (talking my preferences), I feel complete.

For KitKat, there's plenty of ROMs available, partially due to the fact that porting D855 ROMs was cake (swap out kernel and modules, and you're golden). That's why there weren't too many D850-specific ROMs.
On LP, there's a new handshake process between ROM and kernel, so we can't do that...yet. I feel like "development" on ROMs as a result is going to be hindered, since there's hope that the process will get cracked, then we can just port straight from D855 with little effort. Otherwise, if we have to mess about with the D85020f base, it'll take much more time.

Gotcha, I wonder if this is being worked on. If so do you know of a thread where progress could be tracked?

@Spz0 has been talking about this as of late in his OA855-5 ROM thread, as he is readying to move the ROM to Lollipop.
The defacto LG standard ROM of many, CloudyG3 by @Cloudyfa, also will inevitably jump on this bandwagon, but he hasn't been spotted in a while. He's probably just busy or something.
Not sure why this thread even exists.. this subject has been discussed ad nauseam in the Lounge.
@Nexus.S the question you've asked is one that will never offer ONE end all solid answer. It is truly a case of "to each his own". You need to continue doing what you were doing and try obe that fits all of your needs.
There are literally hundreds of users that have commented on every rom available for this device. Asking there will get you quicker answers, rather then waiting for people to find your thread and post something witty.
Threads of this type end up being nothing more then, OT threads.
Please check the index (found HERE) which lists all the roms for this device.

I can also vouch for the first one. In fact, I was far less aggressive with debloating and have skipped xposed for now... and it's more stable, better battery life and (IMO) a better UI.

True. For some it's more the 'personal process' of discussion with others that seems important, and less the strict data/direct content of the discussion.
resurrection remix 5.0.2 is a really great rom i had doubts because it was based off of cm but i was impressed

Marshmallow - puzzled

I'm new to the forum.
Used the search function on marshmallow and android 6 but nothing that made sense came up.
I joined the forum as my wife's TF101 is sluggish. Android 4.03. Kernel 2.6.39.4 [email protected] #1 Build IML74K.US_epad-9.2.1.27-20120615
I came across:-
android-rom.com/upgrade-update-asus-transformer-tf101
I came here to check the 'bone fide' of this as it seems pretty advanced as most posts here are talking about Android 5.x
The site for the split ROM's wants tons of information, full addreess, DOB, email etc. which I don't give out.
So is this for real ?
If it is, is there a site where I can download the ROM without giving out info for surveys and products.
If this thread is deened to be inappropriate, please request to have it deleted and PM me the answer, although, I am sure other 'newbies' will come here looking for the same answer so it might be worth leaving so they can find the answers, official or otherwise.
Thanks for all the info and advice you are all provided. I have had a good, but short, read of quite a few threads.
Don't do it! Definitely fake.
If you are comfortable with the whole process of getting a custom ROM onto your device, go with KatKiss here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/eee-pad-transformer/development/rom-t2942560
The other option is to wait, as timduru, the expert behind KatKiss, is reportedly working on Marshmallow for our old TF101.
Welcome to the forums!
Go with Tim, abandon Data-Leecher

Spare your data and give a f*ck about that site. Go with Timdurus ROMs. The fastest was 4.4.4, I just switched to 6.0.1, from Lollipop 5.1.1 since Marshmallow is faster than the Lollipop version.
You find the latest Marshmallow ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/eee-pad-transformer/development/rom-t3318496. You should go with that one. I tested 'em all, and Timdurus ROMs are far out the best. That simple.
If you need any further help in considering, you might want to consider having a look here: http://meandmykatkiss.blogspot.de/. There will be a performance comparison on later. I haven't come to make the Bench-Screens on Marshmallow yet.
@moderation: I don't know why, but the TO 1st post seems "odd". I might at least remove the link. Anyway, if it is real:
Cheers

Anyway, I tried searching again a couple of days ago, and found out about rooting etc. and KatKiss 6.0.1.
