How would one share a photosphere image by copy/paste via pc? Other services and apps exist but is there a way to simply copy paste the .jpeg image to another phone (android 4.2+)and view as photosphere?
Is there any other metadata to be copied?(as in the case of 3D images!) Or is just copying the ".jpeg" enough?
Seriously? No one? Any idea?
I am a little confused. You can hook up the nexus 5 to your computer, then go to DCIM-->Camera and it is in there. Its nothing more than a jpeg that says "PANO......"

What I am asking is would it still behave as a Photosphere image if i take out the "image.jpeg" and copy to another nexus device?
copy the image and try it out. Let us know

get a file system manager like ASTRO File Manager, from there navigate to the file, and hit install when you select the .apk file
Thank You So Cal. Been looking for this.
Is there any way to set this as the default "gallery". As in when i hit the pictures in the lower right corner when im using the camera, that it will open this gallery view instead?

I don't think so...unfortunately.
If using this gallery...make sure you set your videos to be saved on your SDCard because if you dont they go to your internal phone memory and this Gallery wont be able to see them.
Thank you sir. I didn't even know a multi touch version was out of gallery.
Much obliged.

Does anyone else gallery app not read the internal memory folders like DCIM>100Media where the cameras default pic folder saves to? I know I can change the camera app to save on sd but I'd rather have it read the internal memory if possible.
Using Droid Incredible, this works fine for me viewing picture albums. However it force closes whenever I hit the camera button.
Getting a download error. Is the file okay?

Same here, though I never even tried the camera button until I saw your post. Not sure I would use it normally.

Thanks I'll update the OP and give you credit!
What are the differences between the stock/sense gallery and this multi touch gallery?
Anyone still on stock care to upload them, or have a link where they're already uploaded?
Some are strongly against them, but I love them. I'd much rather wake up to a soft acoustic piano, then some annoying/loud alarm.
funny, the first thing I did was go and find a "real" ringtone....
This place doesn't have the S3 yet, but they have quite a few others..

If no one posts by tonight I'll upload them.

Please do, I need them too.

I was just thinking about that when considering moving to a new rom soon. I sort of like the stock notifications, the whistle when I get an e-mail is nice.
Let me guess , You installed a custom rom Right ???

Thank you.
Is it flashable through recovery, or does it need to be manually placed in a folder. If the latter, what folder(s) do the files need to go into, I'm guessing in /system somewhere?
UPDATE: NM, found where it goes, in media/audio, it doesn't look like a flashable zip.
Download zedge from play store and get all u can imagine

No, it's not a flashable zip. I should have said that. You would need to copy these into /system/media to work. You might also need to change the permissions on them to get them to work. I copied one sound to another folder (I wanted to use it as an alarm), and I needed to change the permissions to RW to do so.

Here also is a link to a zip of the whole audio folder from a stock SGSIII on verizon.
Just got it two days ago, and had a chance to do an adb pull of the device earlier today.
I remembered seeing this thread yesterday, so made the zip of the folder in linux earlier, just got on lunch and upped it to dropbox.
I see someone else already has it up, but, figured i'd share it anyway as another copy. Also not flashable, just a zip of the folder itself.
Sent from a digital distance.
both links are dead.... does anyone still have these to share? been looking all over for them
Edit: just copied them from system/media to the SD card using Astro

Hey guys please help I accidentally deleted all my photos which I saved into my internal memory. I have tried all sorts of recovery methods, but to no avail. However I found this one suspicious file called .thumbdata3-176350812 in my thumbnails folder. The directory to it is Internal Memory, DCIM, Thumbnails. It has a pretty big file size of 54.5MB. May I know what it is? With a little glimmer of hope, could it be a backup of my photos? If not, what is it? Is there any other way to recover my photos? They are very precious memories and I really feel like killing myself for being so clumsy and deleting them all. I am on Resurrection remix JB 3.0.6 and using a Samsung Galaxy SII i9100.
The file is thumbnail of you images they are tiny images of original images...
Try to open it it might help
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.

You could try apps like Undelete or Hexamob recovery. The file, as mentioned, is the thumbnail data of your images. That size actually isn't big compared to what it sometimes gets to (3gb+).

Not even the Total Recovery option (in Hexamob)?
Many times when I download files they get saved with very long weird names instead of their correct names. See screen shot attached, first filename should be d821servicemanual.. anyone know why this happens and how to fix?

Those are normal. They're the update files from 4.4
Right not those, take a look at the file above them. Also happened when I downloaded a bootanimation file, was supposed to be named boot animation.zip and came in like the first file in that screenshot. Had to rename it to correct filename.

Did you download from a Google drive folder by chance? I've seen that when downloading from drive

Yes I think it might have been from Google drive. Weird. Thanks! Know any way to correct this?

I haven't found a workaround. I just rename the zip after download. It has something to do with drive

I pulled my 64 GB S6 Edge Sprint variant system folder via adb.
Would it be useful to developers to upload this somewhere for them to pull down?
Also does the system pull contain any files with sensitive/personal information specific to my phone? Usernames, passwords, pins, etc.

SAME.
I will try and throw that up somewhere tonight or tomorrow morning whenever I get a chance.
Well, if I can figure out how to do that. I am not currently rooted, I just did an adb pull system to get the sysdump. Not sure if not having root missed anything. (I assume maybe it did.)
