I have nba jam installed on my nexus 10 and all is well. The 10 is completely stock.
The nexus 5, on the other hand, has franco kernel with purity rom. The app opens and asks to download additional data on wifi or 3g. When it starts I get an error, 'download failed error:101'. Any idea on how to get it working?
I have tried the following: clearing app data for Google play and download manager, using data sync to transfer the app and data from the nexus 10.
Thanks in advance

Did you ever find an answer to this? I just ran the game for the first time and got the same error you did. I'm running the stock ROM (rooted) with Xposed Framework. I run a DPI of 439, so I thought maybe that was it, but even using App Settings module to change it to 480, it still is giving me the same error.
Sadly I haven't.

I was getting the same error, but running Cataclysm ROM and without Xposed.
I changed my navigation bar (back, home, multitask keys) back to 100% from 60%, and it now downloads!
Hope this fixes the problem for you too!
Unbelievable !
It actually is working after doing what you did ! What's the link ? This is really crazy ... ! But it's downloading ... well, that's enough for today :silly: ! Thanks :good: !
WTF @ that for a fix!

I cannot install or update any apps on my phone. I can restore them via titanium, but not through the store. Does anybody have any ideas?
I'm running the release from 29th March 2012 if that helps...
It seems that trying to install the latest gapps has fixed it for now.
But it does keep trying to update Osmos, even though I bought it through the humble bundle instead of the pay store. Any help?
Also, don't know how to edit from the app, hence the double post.

Don't worry about the double post, nothing to worry about here.
You can try to clear the cache from play store, or maybe reinstall it. reboot your phone.
Sometimes it needs a while for the store to recognize all your apps and settings.

I restarted my phone last night and I couldn't install apps again. Rebooted into recovery and reinstalled gapps again and it seems to work again. Next time it happens, I'll try clearing the cache first.

There is no possibility to workaround. Games bought outside Google Play will be always marked but cannot be updated.

EDIT: Clearing the cache, data and force stopping hasn't helped the downloading issue.
EDIT 2: I installed Play Store v3.5.16 from here, and it seems to work fine now.
Thanks for the link, just install it and can confirm it worked for me.
Known Issue
Yeah - that's one of the known issues on CM9 Alpha unfortunately...
Very difficult to find an ICS ROM for the Desire S where everything "just works".
Thanks for the link, I had the same issue, but after I installed that, the issue is gone!

As the title states my Google search is no longer working after the new update. The only way I can get it to work it to clear cache, data, and uninstall updates which will then revert the app to factory form. After doing all that the app works no issues but then the app updates itself and then i keep getting same error message every time I try to load it.. Anyone else have this issue? Running P6800 with JB 4.1.2. Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue. I read there are issues on some nexus devices. I think just wait for Google to release a fix.

Same here. Reverted to the previous version and waiting for the update with correction (hopefully),
I just did a phone reset hoping it would solve the issuebut nothing. Google just released a new update and still same problem.

Indeed, the release of 11/21 is no good either.
I have been looking all over the net and can't seem to find any info on this, Google hasn't even acknowledged there is something wrong. Maybe this is only affecting a very small number number of people.

Both Google Now / Search and Newsstand have been crashing on launch with the stock ROM. But on my other JB devices no such problem. I tried rooting this tablet. No change. Then I flashed the unofficial Cyanogenmod 10.1. That solved the problem.
My assumption: the Samsung stock ROM is the source of the problem.
What did I learn?
- My tablet is running smoother without all the Samsung crap. I should have done it even sooner!
- I will probably gravitate in the future to Nexus devices where the OS is not compromised by vendor-motivated overhead. And it's easier to get updates and custom ROMs.
- Because Samsung has not been fully cooperative with the developer community, ROMs often lack certain device drivers. (Another advantage for Nexus.)
If this motivates you to root and flash just be aware of two known deficiencies with the ROM I am using:
-no tethering
-once you turn off wifi you'll have to reboot to turn it on again.
(Thanks, Samsung for withholding wifi device drivers from the public.)
We shouldn't have to install custom roms in order for an app to work. I have tried to report the issue to Google but I have yet to receive feedback. I have flashed many roms and many of my Android devices but I longer wish to do so since no one rom is fully functional as it should, there will always be issues. I too may consider a Nexus device, but at the same time I have always liked Samsung and their products but this one issue with this app is a little annoying.

Hi Manipur,
Try to download this:
http://sdrv.ms/18hoDxb
Let me know if any problems.
Whether Samsung or Google, the android environment can come across as chaotic. So much going on with all various versions.
Samsung keep selling us pretty much the same devices with new software, I'm not particularly impressed their pace of improvements.
Google products seems to work well on Apple ios, android is still missing functions available Apple for a good while now, funny how that works.

Oops. Too bad, that is the oldest one I have, and it works fine in my case.
I know I'm not the only one with this issue, anybody have an any ideas as to why Google search no longer works, even after new updates. On My wife's Note II she gets all the updates with no issue, she is also running 4.1.2. This is really pissing me off.

Hi guys, I recently flashed my Nexus S (i9023) to CyanFox 2.0.1. and CyanFox Gapps 2013-12-15. I have an issue with youtube. I have the HQ button selected but still it's not playing like in my previous rom (cm 11) and I don't know why. It's somehow pixelated, around the edges I see little squares, I think you know what I mean .I tried to uninstall the app and then reinstall it but still no result. Does anybody have the same problem ? Does anybody know how to fix this ? I have attached two printscreens, first from my Nexus S with the issue and second from my brother's Orange Nivo which doesn't have the issue.
Can you try clearing YouTube data and see if the problem still persists?
I cleared cache and data but the problem is still there...
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
same problem for me also on both cyanogenmod 10.1 and 10.2, its not rom specific, that "sh1t" started after the "big" update that you could be able to search for videos and still be able to watch at the same time in a very tiny window at the bottom.
@iakoboss7 for me it is a rom problem because I had cm 11 before cyanfox with the youtube updated with the "big update" that you are talking avout and it was playing videos without this problem...

I've installed Viper4Android on my N5 (Carbon ROM, ElementalX kernel), and when it works, it works great. However, it doesn't always kick in automatically. Sometimes I have to open the app in order to get it to run.
I've uninstalled the driver/app and reinstalled V4A multiple times. Same issue.
Any ideas on what's going on?
Could be the 4.4.2 0bytes running services issue.

Also had this issue on slimkat.
Converting to a system app in titanium backup solved it for me.

Hi!
I have a minor problem with my Nexy...I have succesfully flashed both LiquidSmooth ROM (ROM crashed..) and now I went back to CM 12.1... the problem is, when i try to install apk files on my Nexus the installer app says ¨app not installed¨..... I have tried reflashing with a full wipe including dalvik and system format... now I am about to give it up and leave my phone blank as a paper and have only free applications installed from Google Play... so I would be really thankfull if anyone knows what the problem might be... I have been already told that i might have flashed the wrong GAPPS but i doubt thats the problem since i flashed NANO GAPPS 5.1.1. PLS HELP!
Hi
Is "unknown sources" checked? Try another custom rom. CM could be buggy.
Checked so that shouldn't be a problem... I had CM 12.1 already on my Nexus but then it worked just fine...

CM nightlies have bugs you know... Have a look at the CM dev thread.
Did you try with several apks? Can you give us examples? You can have this error when you are trying to install an app which is already installed or which has a different signature.
I know they tend to have bugs... But i really dont think thats the problem here... Because i had LiquidSmooth and since then nothing installs... A few apps do install but apparently if they're bigger than 8 MB they won't install... I tried N.O.V.A 3 failed Modern Combat 4 failed....
