Yesterday I got my nexus 5 and it came with 4.4.2. During
initial boot it did not ask for any update or else. The power
adapter is british one.
Does somebody have the same version as default?
Best regards all.
Obviously as Android versions get released with "bugfixes", they start releasing them from the factory on the latest software build.
What is the *real* question here? I assume you were building up to a bigger question?

I think he is asking why his phone came with Android KitKat 4.4.2 and not a newer version.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I was distressed since everybody started with 4.4.
None reported upgrade from the factory. As you
might imagine, the fear wrote my post.
Best regards and thanks.

i think what hes saying is that his phone came with 4.4.2 while he read that other peoples phones came with 4.4(and were later updated to 4.4.2). he wants to know if others are running 4.4.2. and yes op, 4.4.2 is what you should be running right now.

Correct.
All of you have a phone with 4.4 from the factory. I am the only one
with 4.4.2. I was aware of that and wanted to know if I got faked or
old phone.
Thanks all for reply.

new phones come with 4.4.2 already installed. it really depends when you buy it. if you are reading online, you are probably reading something older.
Mine came in Thursday 4.4.2 installed.

Got my white Nexus 5 about two weeks ago and it came with 4.4.2 as well 32gb model
I will order mine in a month and it will surely have 4.4.3

As stated above. Maybe I am too early but can not seem to find one. Thought it was released now from Verizon.
On the ml baseband with Scots clean rom 8.1.
Also wondering if someone can see if the new ART vm is in it. Sure would put some sand back into this aging phone.

Does not exist yet on Verizon. We're still on 4.3 TouchWiz officially with no leaks for KitKat.

Ok. Must have misunderstood some news. Was surprised anyways.
Is there others besides verizon. Maybe ported. Just asking because I need some Samsung specific features and the 4.3 rom rom is giving problems.

KitKat ROMs would probably give you even more problems because until Verizon releases KitKat we are stuck on the jelly bean kernel. Well that is if you took the update I just assumed you did.

Any Developers or people who's working or done with the lollipop 5.0 rom for infuse? I just want to experience the new material design.
They have said once beanstalk is ported they'd give it a go.

I'm working on it, could be interesting if we can use this kernel on our device
https://github.com/hak86/android_kernel_samsung_aries
since infuse has 2.6 kernel and required a lot of changes to make lollipop
I am unsure about specs but you might visit the Samsung Galaxy player 4.0 and 5.0 forums, they are at least same gen devices and I saw lollipop is built on it.

Any progess?
Is there any progress on Lollipop for the Infuse? Still using mine. Thanks.
Lollipop is a ram eater. I tried it on the razrm and it didn't go well. Wound up reverting to kitkat. I'm sorry but at some point even if you can, you shouldn't and I think all devs are realizing this.

I think people should just run the latest that's available, or get a new phone. A Moto E is 3 times the phone the Infuse is, and can be had for $30 if you buy it at the right time. Plus it runs Lollipop out of the box. Methinks trying to run 5.0 on a 4 yr old device is near impossible.

Hell i haven't seriously used my Infuse in over 2 years, i just like to see just how much it can handle, I was a bit surprised when it took KK. Now just waiting to see if it can handle Lollipop.
Hello guys,
So about a month back I side loaded 5.0 to my gf's N5 (the OTA was taking too long). I noticed that 5.0.1 has been released, but the update isn't showing up yet. Is this normal? Should we wait? If manually flashing is better, where can I find it?
Thanks!

Be patient. No Nexus 5 has stock 5.0.1 yet, because it hasn't been released. Once it is released, it may take a few weeks to get to your phone.
You can find here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images , when its released
5.0.1 is not there.

Hi,
Just 2 days back I bought a nexus 5 and after unboxing, the software upgraded to 4.4.4. I am still waiting for the 5.0 update. Is this normal? I dont want to install any ROM or flash it. Does it take time for a new nexus 5 to get 5.0 via OTA?

Yes, it happens in batches. If you don't want to flash it yourself, you'll just have to wait.
Bro even I did buy a Google Nexus 5 a day ago and what was shocking to me is that it came preinstalled with android 4.4.4 and also I have not got the lollipop update
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Why is that shocking? Do you think it just rolled off the production line or something?
It will have been made ages ago and just sat around in storage before you bought it.

Don't worry....it seems that Google removed 5.0 OTA.......i've the ota notification since a 10 days ago but now it says that my version is the last (4.4.4)
So it seems that is near to push 5.0.1 i think

They have not removed the OTA. It's delivered in batches. If you don't accept the update, you go to the back of the queue.

The queue waiting for 5.0. There is always a queue. Not all Nexus 5 have received or accepted the update. If you ignored the update, you go to the back of the queue whilst people who are still waiting for the update and actually want it, get a chance to download it.
Google servers cannot hit every device at once as there are too many. You get a notification when it's your time. Whilst your batch is having the notification, there are people in queue behind you. If you don't accept that update, you miss your slot and all the other people waiting get their chance. It will come back round to you again in time

I received my phone today and I have the same issue; at least now I know that I'll have the possibility to update my phone in the future. Is there any difference between update it automatically or flash the update manually?

Why so? What is wrong with Lollipop? I used a N5 which had L that belonged to a friend of mine and honestly, was quite delighted by it.

It's in space waiting for Optimus Prime.
Seriously though - this thread is not that long. Your question was replied to on the previous page already. Google sends updates in batches and not all at the same time. Not all N5s have received the update yet. If you are really anxious, just install the 5.0.1 factory image and stop waiting.
Edit: damnit @rootSU you ninja
The current ROM I have is BoneStockRom V3.3, I like it good enough but looking to see what else is out there. I do NOT want something that I have to flash all the time. I would like something more up to date, stable and has a better radio/signal than what I have now.
know I am asking for many opinions, but I love feedback, so cab you guys give me your thoughts?
THanks

As far as a radio you can update to the latest modem if you'd like which is NE1 without having any issues. I've ran tons of roms on my old S3 but the best by far was slimkat. It's truly up to you what you want but your best bet is to read others opinions

Thanks a ton for the advice. Is this the one you are referring to? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2400577
I also have a Note 3 for Verizon, but when I got it it had 4.4.4 and from what I have read, there is not a root for it. I mainly want to root to get rid of the bloatware and get the mobile hotspot freed up. I tried using FoxFi on the Note 3, but that was horrible.
Thanks again.

I have the S3 still simply because it is rooted. I got the Note 3 a few months ago but at that time I did not know that it could not be rooted since it has 4.4.4. I am using the S3 now because it is rooted and I can mess with it. If I could root the Note 3, then I would.
