Yes. I have my Xoom plugged into my pc right now, and I have access to both the internal storage as well as the external micro sdcard.
@serg675:
there is one difference between mobile and xoom that is xoom is mtp only device.
whereas phone provide for"mass storage" option.
with usb mass storage watcher you can mount sd card(external only) as msc

juz make sure ur xoom have micro sd enable with HC3.2 or rooted rom that have M.sd enable
unlock it when connected to pc, both storage will appear by viewing "My Computer" inside "Portable Devices"
located in Computer\Xoom
Last night, i factory reset my phone, backed everything up to my external sd card and spent most of today restoring all of my files. I had one folder on my computer of pictures and misc. backups left to go. I plugged my phone into my pc and tried to drag them over. I got an error saying my device has stopped responding or has disconnected. Quick google search and i installed an app that let me enable usb mass storage mode. Tried that and it did not work. I put my phone back on MTP mode and plugged into my computer, checked and literally my entire internal and all of my external storage is wiped. What do i do to get these files back? 90% of my backups were on my external card. My phone is a Verizon Galaxy s3 16gb with 16gb external sandisk sd card.
I've tried making a partition on my SD card using CWM but now i need to delete it, when i plug in my phone via usb cabel and turn on MiniPartition wizard, it only shows the SD card but no partition, really don't know what to do

Hi there!
I have a USB OTG device that reads microSD cards, SD cards and USB drives and I want to use this device to copy files from microSD to USB. I can do it copying to the phone storage or the microSD in the phone.
Do you know if its possible to mount both devices at the same time?
Big maybe. Have you tried using ES File Manager and copying between each storage devices??? I would think it would show up all at the same time considering you can have two partitions on the same SD card.
My card reader doesn't have USB, but I was able to copy a movie from a CF Card to MicroSD while the reader is plugged into my phone.
I'd like to use TestDisk PhotoRec to try to recover some photos, as I forgot to backup my DCIM folder before wiping data from recovery.
Unfortunately, that software needs the phone to be mounted as a regular mass storage device.
Any ideas?
SD card internal or external....???
If external sd card: remove it from storage and use desktop and card reader or adapter.
If there is internal storage, you can mount your phone and choose from USB options data transfer.
To use TestDisk and PhotoRec you need a desktop and know somewhat of the command line, depending on the OS you are using. It is recommended to use a live CD or live USB stick. It has a fairly high learning curve, but is effective.
For me, it's internal storage. But Photorec/testdisk don't see any mtp partition sa my file manager see.
