[Q] Does nandroid backup restore XPrivacy (Xposed Installer) - General Questions and Answers

hello,
Wanted to try out new ROMs. I used Xprivacy. If i nandroid backup my phone, try out new ROMs but decide to restore my backup, will I have to re-do my Xprivacy permissions?
Thank you!
EDIT: If it matters, I'm running 4.4.1 on Nexus 5 (Cataclysm)

You can buy the donate version of XPrivacy that has a backup feature included. The point is that restoring app data from nandroids to other rom will probably not work. If you restore your full backup your setting will be restored of course.

Could you please share the result?
Edit: confirmed

Nandroid on CWM?

hi folks
i have a stock asian wifi only rom now coz i bought it in hong kong
i have just flashed to CWM and couldnt find nandroid, is nandroid available?
if not, what can i do to backup my whole system coz i would like to flash to the timat kernel
please help and thanks alot
Jon
Yes. Click "backup and restore " inside CWM. But you can't do a backup if you have more than 4 gig. So if you have a lot of apps, games, or data forget it for now

Deleting preinstalled apps from mobile after rooting

Hello all,
I have already rooted my mobile. Can anyone please guide me as to how to remove the preinstalled apps from my mobile.
And no I don't want to install a custom Rom
Thanks for reading.
You can use Root Uninstaller or SystemApp Remover. But I recommend you to install custom ROM, our little device can do better than stock ROM. You haven't risk, you will always can get back to stock ROM(am I right?). Good luck .
You can use link2sd app for uninstalling system apps.

I think Paul O'Brien from Modaco was already testing some early builds of TWRP, but I'm not reall sure right now.
You can still make backups with ADB. They're a bit different, but at least, you have a backup.

I downloaded this app and did a nandroid, which took FOREVER, but at least now I'm safe, should I ever need a backup, right? Because I'm on verizon with the moto g so there's no custom recoveries that I know of… barely have root!
So, I'm safe right?

What is a fast easy way to back up your apps so you don't have to reinstall them after flashing a new rom?

Use Titanium Backup
i USe Go Backup Pro. U can Go a Backup direct to ur Dropbox... Very nice.
Personally I use MyBackup Root. It's free and if you're rooted (you are if you're flashing ROMs) it works perfect to backup / restore apps and app data.
i use titanium backup too..
but, wht abt nandroid backup?

One thing to keep in mind., backing up the apps will not work when going from 4.1.2 to say 4.3 or 4.3 to 4.4. It will be messy. You would be better off installing from play store or Gapps for that version. Should work fine if the rom is the same base version though. Good luck.

I have not found this to be true.
I restored apps from my Nexus 4 (with data) from 4.3 to my Nexus 5 on 4.4 and everything came out fine.
Using Titanium Backup or MyBackup it basically installs the market APK same as if you installed it from the market.
Gapps yeah you need the right version.
I'm on 4.4 rom and going to a 4.4 rom I just have alot of apps I like and such. I would like them to stay I stalled.

I use Titanium Backup. And i think it's the best way to backupyou device.
I even use backups that i generated with my HTC Desire on my new SGS 3 over the boundaries of a new ROM.

I am agree with majority answers…
Titanium backup pro is best app for backup (with data)
Twrp is better than cwmr in terms of functionality and nandroid backup size
If you like to backup only application (no data) you should go with myapp sharer application.

I used online nandroid backup and the nandroid manager, it is super easy to use.

One more thread for quick question. Could have used the discussion thread we already have for 6X custom ROMs.
you can try restoring the data and see the difference.
