Can't update my phone.

Hi, I have a Moto G 1st Gen xt1033 Dual Sim. The phone, to my knowledge is completely stock, it is unrooted and I haven't tampered with anything developer-wise. The problem is that I can't seem to update the phone. I get an OTA message telling me the update is ready, I download it, my phone shuts down and then it reboots normally. Not only that, but it also enters a bootloop of about 5 boots. Afterwards, nothing happens, the update is unsuccessful. What also bothers me is that I can't enter recovery. I can select the option from the menu that appears after I press the volume down key+power button, but it just boots normally. Please help, I really want to update my phone and this is getting really annoying.
Sounds like your phone can't update and you cannot manually enter recovery mode.. Did you try re-flashing stock recovery?
I didn't, can you maybe link me to a thread that can help me do that?

Search for your stock ROM here: http://www.filefactory.com/folder/c6cdedc45a775d27/?sort=filename&order=ASC&show=100&page=1
If you find it, download it, unzip, use fastboot commands to flash the recovery by typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" with the quotes when your phone is in fastboot mode and connected to your PC.
Alright, I'll see what I can do. Does this delete any of my files?

No, it should not wipe your data. Just in case, make sure all of your data file are backed up somewhere else before doing any flashing.
Do you have an unlocked bootloader? I recommend unlocking the bootloader after making your backup. Restoring the phone after a bad flash is always easier with an unlocked bootloader.
Alright, I found my stock firmware, it contains a recovery.img, I set up fastboot, and I'm ready to flash the image. Do I need to uninstall the current recovery or can I just flash over it?
Also, my bootloader is locked, and I would prefer not unlocking it unless it's absolutely necessary.. Do I need to put the recovery.img into a specific folder before entering the fastboot command?
Just put recovery.img in the same folder as your fastboot command.
Just flash over the existing recovery.
If it will not flash, you may have to find a different rom or unlock the bootloader.
I managed to do everything you said. I even unlocked the bootloader and had a bit of a scare cause it got bricked so I had to eventually do a full wipe.. Afterwards I flashed the recovery, installed the 4.4.4 update and got the 5.0 update immediately. Running 5.0 now thanks to you!

[Q] [Linux] Fastboot and phone hang when flashing

Greetings all.
I've been trying to get my XT1032 rooted using various methods (Superboot, custom recovery, CF Auto-Root) but each time I run
Code:
fastboot flash X Y
fastboot does nothing (it won't flash to my phone, but if I unplug my phone it will quit), and the fastboot menu hangs (I have to press the power button to get it to reboot).
As mentioned before, I have an unlocked Tesco 16GB XT1032 running stock Lollipop.
Does anyone have any ideas?
EDIT: I have double checked the udev rules, and my phone is detected fine, so it's not those.

[Q] Unable to install twrp

I'm trying to install a TWRP via ADB and it shows it was successful but when I enter recovery it goes to stock recovery, maybe I'm doing something wrong but I checked several videos and TUT's and i can't find a solution.
The phone is xt1032 gpe with unlocked bootloader ont 5.1 Lollipop, it's not rooted.
I think the problem is that after I send the commands "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" and "fastboot reboot" I cant enter the to recovery to make the new recovery end the installation.
When i send the reboot command the phone doesn't reboot it just shows the battery charging symbol and when i touch de power button the phone boots up immediately i tried several combinations off keys and I still can't do it.
I really appreciate some help,
Thanks

What? my phone is Moto G XT1032 and I'm looking for a solution not an upgrade
Your fastboot command is wrong.
Rename twrp as recovery.img(.img is the extension) copy it to adb folder and type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" without quotes.

Boot loops For my Moto G 1st gen after Nandroid backup using TWRP Recovery

Hai
I unlocked my Moto G (XT1033 with Lollipop ) bootloader and Installed TWRP recovery and everything was smooth until I tried for a Nandroid backup (the storage space was little low).
After the backup i tried for the reboot my moto just showing bootloader unlocked warning only.i tried fast boot using the power key +volume down key it shows the AP Fastboot flash Mode (s). Recovery option shows team win logo for 3-4 seconds and then the unlocked bootloader message and loops.only barcode option works.
then i dig through XDA Forum n tried custom recovery using ADB and fastboot tool.
installed moto usb drivers and tried to connect using usb cable as my device in fastboot flash mode my win 10 detects my phone as fastboot falcon s .but when i tried adb/fast boot commands it just shows waiting for device or null no device detected .
what should i do .please help ..
my local serviceman says after seeking motorola forum support(as he said) IC may be damaged.
if like that motherboard changing will be the only option ihave left??

Hi,
Power down your phone and power up by pressing power and volume down buttons, you'll enter bootloader mode.
Connect the phone to your computer and flash again recovery with fastboot commands...
Let us know
You may need to use the following fastboot command:
fastboot erase userdata
Note: Internal storage will be wiped; photos, music etc get erased.
