If you do not intend to rooting, or rooting and flashing costum rom to just fix the problems, i'm just advice you to visited samsung care again. if it still in warranty, and they can't fix it, they could replacing it. when you do rooting, you lost your warranty.
also with rooting etc, you'll get more headache, and didn't guarantee fixing the issue. because it might be hardware problems.
just quote me if you choose try to root, i'll give you the links that specified instruction for rooting

Either you got an update that was no good, or your running a modded rom, try either putting a new rom on your phone. or Odin back to stock and you should be good to go! You can search how to odin back on goodle, its really simple.

[Q] can I screw up my galaxy s2 motherboard because I installed a custom rom?

Hi, I followed the procedure for rooting and flashing galaxy s2 gt-i9100 perfectly. I also downloaded the files for my device only and not any other device. The problem started 2 days back when I was on resurrection remix jelly bean rom with Aliyah kernel. I started to randomly not recieve calls. My friends complained that it would go straight to voicemail. So I took it to the service center and they told me the motherboard was screwed. They installed a new motherboard and the phone was working fine until I flashed cyanogenmod 10 with their own kernel. The problem reappeared. Is the problem because I installed the rom or what?

Never heard of such a thing, I do not believe that a custom ROM that was compiled for the correct phone model and flashed correctly is likely to screw up the motherboard. Make the phone act funny such as losing calls? Sure, that could happen and could be the ROM or kernel or firmware, but the motherboard? I don't believe so.
I would flash the stock ROM and kernel back and see if the problem occurs again before drawing any other conclusions.
Have you tried switching baseband?

It could be a bad flash, an incompatible Rom, a conflicting app, bad signal or just bad Carma
I too doubt it can affect a motherboard physically. You can brick your phone when installing if something goes extremely wrong (very rare these days), but the physical board should be just fine.
Did you flash back to stock before taking it to the service center? They might not even be able to read the phone's software if it's not stock.
Most will just send you away if they see you have been flashing roms :-/
I hope it was under warranty, because if they "replaced the Mother board" on your dime, I think you got hosed. It worked fine, because they set it back to Stock.
I think they saw that you flashed a custom ROM and just reversed it to stock and told you they changed the motherboard cause i doubt it is the custom ROM fault.....just yesterday i rooted and flashed such a device and works fine
Maybe its even the baseband version the problem.....once a rom didnt booted up.on a galaxy 5 and after a changed it the device runned well

Maybe the new custom rom found other cell site for you always check the network and signal.
Anyway the carrier was just messing with about the motherboard they dislike custom roms.
i flashed back to the offical firmware and the problem still was there.

[Q] gtab2 5100 prob...

Hello...
Just need to ask 1 last question before sending my tab to samsung services...
My gtab 5100 phone's vibrate got a problem, its sometime working and sometime not...
I've check all setting and tried 2 diff custom ROM and still like that...
Im suspecting there's a problem with the hardware (vibrator)...
But if i need to send it to service centre, ill need to reset my counter and stock firmware (and to do that,it'll take quite a lot of efforts which im trying to avoid).
Any ideas guys? What do you think i need to do, or any of u having this prob b4 (and if yes, what did you do)
Thanks

[Completed] [Q] Wifi not detecting home network in samsung galaxy grand duos i9802

Suddenly the wifi in my samsung galaxy grand duos i9802 is unable to detect my home network. It keeps showing it as "out of range". It is not even able to identify any other wifi (tried to tether from another mobile but did not identify it). But surprisingly all other devices in my house are able to detect the same wifi without any issues. So obviously something is wrong with my phone and i cannot understand what. When i tried a factory reset the problem got solved temporarily so for the first time it detected the wifi but again after some time it went back to the same problem as earlier by itself. And since then again it keeps showing as out of range.
I would prefer to solve this issue without installing any custom ROM if possible. Is there someone who has faced a similar problem and could solve it without flashing any custom ROM?
Personally i am not in favour of any custom ROM because most of them have some or the other known issue like radio not working, dual sim always enabled, google maps not working or something like that, but with the stock ROM i do not see any such issue, so i would prefer if it could be solved by simply updating some driver of wifi or any other simpler solution. Would like to avoid rooting as well if it can be solved without rooting.
Can somebody help me with some knowledge here?
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Better than a factory re-set, I'd try flashing the stock firmware with Odin. If there's stilla problem it could be hardware. For additional help see your device's specific forum here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-grand-duos

Samsung S4 constantly losing connection, but still shows connected.

My girlfriend's AT&T S4 loses connection, but still shows it connected. So you never know you don't have a connection until you reboot the phone and find that you have missed 2 phone calls, 3 emails, and 15 texts. This happened with the stock Rom. I've tried a couple of different roms, but still the same outcome. I'm thinking I should have to switch to a different modem, but I'm not sure which one to use. Am I wrong and is there another solution? I'm looking for something that will work so I don't have to mess with it again. If anyone has experienced this connection loss and found a solution, please let me know what to do to fix this phone.
definitively you need to update the modem.
2 ways to achieve the update: either by a new rom firmware (http://live.samsung-updates.com/?device=GT-I9505), either by just update gsm modem/wifi fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50965837&postcount=2627)
But I strongly suggest before, to look at what your device model is. Mine is S4 LTE international = GT-i9505.
Don't know yours.
Hope that helps.
Ahh... a response. Thank you
So if I change the Rom, that will change the modem too? I thought the modem stayed with the phone and you had to change that separately. This can get so confusing at times. But this is good news never the less. The model number of the phone is GT-i9505G running a custom Rom ( Super-Nexus ) 4.4.4, baseband version 1337UCUFNB1, Kernel version 3.4.0-1125940 [email protected] #1
I hope this information helps you understand what I have so you can find a solution. Thank you for all your help
You're right. changing the rom doesn't update your modem unless you flash a stock firmware via odin. But read carefully as samsung at&t version is specific (meaning specific firmware).
You will find bunch of files by looking at "modem galaxy s4 i337" on xda thread. Depend on what you will find, either only modem/wifi fix either the full stock firmware, you need to update via Odin.
also a good start is to take a look at xda thread > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616221
And it seems that AT&T already realease some new stock firmware > http://www.att.com/esupport/softwareUpdateArticle.jsp?sid=KB419415&cv=820&partner=LinkShare&siteId=TnL5HPStwNw-V7YmgDyzwWW7TSi7CwkqtA
I tried a Note 4 Rom first
I have a Note 3, I've had a Note 2 (I loved the macro setting and wished they'd kept it for the Note 3), so I thought I would try the Note 4 Rom on my girlfriend's problematic S4. It got stuck in a boot loop. I ended up using the link you gave me for the stock (but upgraded) AT&T Rom. I see it brought the phone from NB1 to NJ4 firmware. I'm hoping this improvement will solve the problem of a connection loss bring that is a factory firmware upgrade. She can also get OTA updates again. Thank you for your help. Now it's time to find a different Rom for my Nvidia Tegra Note 7. This thing is terribly slow after the upgrade to Lollipop!
Note 4 has a complete different hardware from S4. That's why you had boot loop.
