Odexing is where a ROM is distributed with parts of its apps already decompliled so that they run faster. When android runs an app it decompiles it "on the go" when it needs it. So odexing apps helps them run faster, but makes it hard to theme apps as they are split up. As far as I know all HTC ROMs are odexed these days.
A system dump ROM is simply a ROM that was on a phone system partition, but has been dumped (taken from the phone and placed onto a SD card or computer) and has been worked to make it flash able.

Removing stock applications from the stock rom before install

Please tell me if this is feasable.
I was retarded and never bothered to Root my incredible when it was possible to do on 2.1
It obviously isn't possible using revoked/simple root/ or any other methods after 2.2 (not yet anyway)
I would like to remove the stock annoying apps(amazon, cityid, etc) from my phone entirely/rename them, but I can't. I can't because without root access you cant rename/delete files from the system/app folder on the phone, and you cannot force an unintall of these programs.
I recently downloaded the update.zip file from google for the 2.2 update(since I didnt want to wait for the OTA update). Do you think it is possible to remove the apk's you dont want from the stock 2.2 google rom since they are located in the same folder system/app within the rom files. Then rezip the rom files and reflash your phone with the edited rom files which would not include all this bloat crap stuff I do not want?
I cant think of a reason why it wouldn't work / be possible??? thoughts?

Since you are using the stock recovery to install a stock ROM/update that is signed by them with keys the that you don't have, I would say NO. You'll have to get root first and install a customer recovery in order to install custom ROMs. If you modify the stock ROM/update and resign it, it will be a custom ROM/update at that point.

Ty for the response.
That is exactly the issue I ran into..
I wasnt able to figure out how to get past their md5/signed file check.
I am not sure if the bootlader/recovery console checks the file size or contents. What I tried to do originally was extract all the files in the update.zip package and make my changes then rezip them. Obviously this method failed because I had to repackage it and as a result it was no longer signed.
What I then tried was to edit the actual update.zip without extracting first. I figured this way the file itself would still be signed and I would be able to use it.
It generated a different error than I had seen the first time, but ultimately failed the check again..
Made me sad. I really wanted to get rid of all that crap. VZnavigator process is a memory hog. I dont need it at all, not with google maps which comes stock on the phone.. And to add to that, you cant even kill the process because as soon as you do it just starts again... So.. GG verizon
At this point I really only have two options..
1) Wait for 2.2 stock rom to be rooted. If this ever happens, I have faith that it will.
2.) Revert back to 2.1, s-off perma root and then manually load in 2.2 over that..
Have you tried that androot.apk? I was under the assumption that it was "universal".

Deodexed framework/app for 2.2 Froyo Chinese ROM

As requested by some I have deodexed the Chinese 2.2 Froyo ROM from Here
It is the full package for now based on the exact ROM, but I will be putting out another two later one with most Chinese stuff removed and another with a fair bit of the blur social stuff removed.
Flash the package by Clockworkmod recovery in the usual way, over the 2.2 ROM. If you have removed apps they will come back, so you will have to remove them again.
Credits go to:
H5u for posting the original stock 2.2 ROM in the above thread.
Sorensiim for the hosting!
Download Here
Enjoy
NB:
If you get an issue with the camera flash after installing 2.2 chinese ROM with it flashing once and then stopping working/being ot of sync, I don't think its related to the deodexed files, however I fixed it by wiping data for camera 2.21 in Titanium Backup
Thank you!
This is exactly, what I've been waiting for.
Could someone please explain what this Deodexed Framework is and what it does or what it's for?
Thanks

.odex files are present in the system by default and accompany most apps (generally apk+odex). The process of deodexing (afaik) removes these files.
As far as purpose goes, Odex system: generally faster, more stable, Deodexed system: easier to mod (bootscreens, lockscreens, themes, etc)
if you're new to the scene that's basically the nutshell version of what you need to know.
Does this still contain Chinese? We really need it.

I don't know if it's signed version, but use "update from zip" in the recovery mode, i've used like this.
Also you can delete some unneeded apk before updating by open zip with winrar (or other) and delete it directly, because older deleted apk will be installed again...

update zips don't need to be signed for clockworkmod, if you remove apk's from the package and flash, make sure they weren't there before or they'll still be in system minus the odex files.
Oh, clockwork mod. I don't have that. Where to get please.
To be more specific I go into recovery and all I see is
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
that's it.
Is clockwork mod suppose to replace this?

Titanium reinstalling the message back or not?
What did you do? You ran out of titanium?
just find a way to solve this problem,
Use root explorer to go to system/framework
delete "com.google.widevine.software.drm.jar"
then you are good~

I could be mistaken, but if you use Titanium to make an "update.zip" in the root directory of your Internal storage, the system thinks you want to "upgrade" every time you boot. At least this is true if you boot into recovery. I've installed a backup this way before.

You shouldn't been doing that. This problem is often caused when gapps package is installed over an odexed stock ROM which includes com.google.widevine.software.drm.jar (and its correspondent .odex file). Now, taking into consideration that gapps includes the deodexed .jar, when it is installed you get the "Android is upgrading..." message on every boot.
If you want to do it properly, you should either stick to the stock .jar (as well as the .odex file), or if you prefer the one it is included in gapps package, you should then delete the .odex (/system/framework/com.google.widevine.software.drm.odex).
I tried to remove the two files (com.google.widevine.software.drm.jar and com.google.widevine.software.drm.odex), but it also continues to restart the procedure "upgrade android" at the start ...
What else should I take??

What's you setup?
Rooted? Stock? Unlocked with custom ROM?
Something seems to be wiping your Dalvik with each boot....
If you are rooted with Titanium Backup installed: Uninstall TiBu, reboot, reinstall TiBu and see if that fixed it.
If it didn't and you are on stock, I would re-flash the stock rom. Something got messed up in the system. It's probably easier to re-flash the stock firmware and root again than trying to find the culprit.

Did it started to happen after installing gapps? If so, please check if your stock ROM also contains com.google.android.media.effects.jar (and .odex). The explanation is the same as before.

I don't remember if this happened after installing gapps or after I OTA to 4.2.2 on my HTC one -- installed gapps pretty soon after OTA anyhow.
Tried to delete (/system/framework/com.google.widevine.software.drm.odex) but it re-appeared after reboot. There is also a com.google.android.media.effects.jar but no .odex.
I deleted both .jar and .odex and it's not show the number of apps to be upgrading but it show just android is upgrading.

Sir I only experience the "Android is Upgrading" every time i flash or install a zip file. Im using STOCK ROM, rooted, kernel with init.d support.
will your post be the solution to my query? or its on another topic?
TIA
If that is only after installing a .zip it is normal. It is because Dalvik cache is being created for the new app.

About Odexed and Deodexed ROM

I'm really confused about the Odexed and Deodexed version of clean rom.
I'm using the Deodexed version and I wonder if I can flash the Odexed one without wipe the internal data or system.
And the last question, which kind of kernel can be optimized for Odexed version?

You can flash one over the other. The system partition is formatted anyway by installing the ROM, and the data partition is unaffected.
The kernel could not care less about odex or not, it just runs programs. And even the Dalvik VM, which does care about odex, just creates its own odex files for a deodexed ROM at the first startup and puts them into dalvik-cache, so after that process there is no more difference between the two in actual code execution.
That means I can install any kind of kernel for Odexed version?

The update also mentions Google+... Not sure I've ever had an issue with Google+ on my phone though...
"Software version D80020k for the LG G2 is now available starting April 8, 2014. This update brings Host Card Emulation (HCE) support and updates to Google+."
I just updated today, was running 80020c with the modified boot.img (for custom recovery). Flashed all the way back to 80010c and went through the update process... 80010c -> 80010o -> 80010q -> 80020c -> 80020k -> Rooted via IORoot25. I keep cloud backups of data (SMS, MMS, call logs, etc.) and applications (apk + data), so I never worry about losing data by a factory reset.

This would require quite a bit of work. The update contains a dlpkgfile which nobody has figured out how to decompress. It's not a normal zip, bzip, gzip, lzip, lhzip, or anything I can decompress. Looking through the file's data it's obvious that it's compressed using opensource code, but LG must have put their own "spin" on it.
About the only thing I can think of doing to extract the changes would be to do a fresh factory reset, go through all the updates and take a snapshot of the /system partition prior to this small update, do the update, and then take another snapshot after the update. Using some file comparison tools such as Meld in Linux I can compare the before/after to capture the differences. Totally possible to do, just very time consuming. Here's the rough steps if someone wants to do it themselves...
1. revert back to D80010d (LGFlashtool)
2. use OTA process to upgrade to 80020c
3. root using IOroot25
4. take a snapshot of /system partition using "dd"
5. use OTA process to upgrade to 80020k
6. take a second snapshot of /system partition using "dd"
7. mount snapshots on Linux desktop
8. compare mounted snapshots using Meld
This will only capture differences on the /system partition. If there are updates to other partitions then those partitions would also have to extracted and compared as well.
