Take a photo with duo camera and try the stickers effect. It will show all blank white icons and clicking on any of them crashes gallery.
Just an FYI for people who didn't know on completely stock out of the box rom.
Sorry dude, stickers effect works perfectly on mine. You try rebooting and trying again?

Even after rebooting it doesn't work. Weird. Some guy on Youtube had the same problem.

Well I did flash a rom from the unbranded M8 forums which had ART on it (not sure if it was activated or just supported) but phone never booted so I went back to stock via a nand backup.
I have the same problem.

I was having the same problem. You have to delete the old clock app and reboot. Then it should work fine or at least that's what I did to get it working. Might be a good idea to back up the old clock app before you delete it just in case. Good luck

its funny because i was getting force closes and i was trying to delete the 4.2 app and accidently deleted the old 4.1 clock and it fixed the problem .
i love the look of the new 4.2 clock . also the night mode is easier on the eyes .

After flashing the 4.2 clock, removing the 4.1 clock and rebooting, I get stuck on the "activating..." screen. Is this happening to anyone else?
The clock works perfectly, and I can just hit the home button and it goes away, but now it happens on every reboot and I wouldn't want that process to run in the background...
Any info would be much appreciated!
any way to get these back on 4.1.2 i searched and read something about renaming the customer.xml which i did and it didnt change anything. is there any other way of getting this feature back i really enjoyed having it.

When it went black, did you press the power button a couple times fast trying to catch it? It happens to me sometimes on all jb roms.

anyone using the app notice the home and mulitask buttons are slightly larger than the back key?
edit: original post updated...
I'm using SoftKeysz and observing some "ghosting" behavior where the "up graphic" ^ overlays the home key, which causes the home key to stop responding. the only fix is a reboot. Anyone else experiencing this behavior and/or have a fix i might try? thanks!
EDIT: Fixed, something related to XBlast or GravityBox options i selected. I thought i had disabled them, but i didn't. I disabled both apps and ghosting went away, will have to see which option (if any) was the causing my problem.

Mine themed, but most of the time one button (in my case the recents)...was huge. and wouldn't correct itself for some reason, even if I used GravityBox to shrink the Navbar. No idea...guess I'll wait for the next update..I really like it though - lots of cool designs on there.

yep, i have same problem , i'm on viper ROM.
The app needs to be compatible with gravitybox.. will report this in the original thread app
This is more of a proof of concept that might be useful to lock the screen.
Does not require root.
HTC's framework detects gestures while the screen is on, this is actually broadcasted to all applications, but the only app that reacts to it is HTC's Media Output (Three finger swipe up or left-right).
This app is both an implementation that reacts to a three finger click to lock the screen, and a dev concept that shows how to react to the gestures.
If you want to use this to lock the phone, just tap with three fingers anywhere after enabling device admin.
Download:
http://mohammadag.xceleo.org/public/Android/HTCOneM8/
Source:
https://github.com/MohammadAG/HTC-Gesture-Listener
More dev stuff:
If anyone is interested where this happens, it's in services.odex's com.htc.server.gesture package.
This is one of the best hacks I've used for the m8 so far ... Very simple yet tasty ?
Thanks..and keep up the good work

The app is simply a listener, it does not enable anything, in fact, if a three finger gesture is not detected by the system, as far as the system is concerned, the app does not exist (it does not take CPU cycles, or memory, or any resources besides storage for the APK).
Therefore, it's technically impossible for it to cause any battery drain. I have no idea what happened on your phone, but it's likely a coincidence.
With that said, my reply was a bit rude, so apologies for that.

You'll need to enable the app as a Device Policy Manager. You have to open the app once for Android to confirm it wasn't maliciously installed.
