Urgent help!! Somehow unrooted? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please I need your help. I booted into CWM and then rebooted from there. It then said fix permission so root will not be lost? I clicked yes and now when I booted I have no root. But my Google animation is unlocked. Please help, what have I done!

That prompt always screws things up, sometimes either if you press yes or no. Should stop using cwm really. Use Philz or TWRP.

Download the SuperSU .zip from here.
Reboot to recovery.
Flash .zip.
Reboot system.
Root restored.
EDIT:
Damn, @rootSU @Hammer_Of_The_Gods and I were on that.

You panic to fast which can make you make misstakes, read the first 4-5 threads in the General section well so you`ll know whats happening and for how to deal with and fix issues

Thanks so much!!! Can I install Xloud mod or beats audio thru the same method? Do I have to clear cache ?

Yes, zips go in recovery or with flashify and img files in fastboot or also flashify, no you don`t have to clear the cache.

OK one last thing! Can I install these mods with stock ROM?

I don't know from experience, but you're probably best off reading through the mod's thread and looking for compatibility issues. Most devs will write in the OP if there's a known issue, but you can't necessarily count on it. Best bet is always reading and/or searching.

Read the OP`s of the sound mod`s if they`re compatible with odexed stock, i think they are but better check it.

OK thanks. Instead of a zip would this work fine without bricking/bootloops

Can someone point me in the right direction..I need the stock 2.3.4 rom please..searched but don't know which one to download..nexus s on T-Mobile USA..thx in advance..!!!

I don't think there is a full 2.3.4 flashable full ROM. But there is 2.3.3 stock ROM, and if you flash it you will get 2.3.4 update OTA within like 10 minutes.

So just root again, it takes like 2 minutes. There are several easy guides for root here. Do you need my help or can you follow one of the guides?
I suggest you follow one of the guides and if you have trouble then ask me and I will help you.

Is it possible to use goomanager to install TWRP after the device is rooted with cf root?

Yes, though having a Nexus device, it'd be good for you to learn fastboot/adb. Comes in handy.
Cool. Thanks guys. I guess is this correct?
1. Cf root
2. Goomanager for twrp
Twrp will stick right? I saw some people needing to flash like 6 times before twrp sticks.

As aznk3vi17 says, go the adb fastboot way. You'll be better off in the long run than using a bunch of easy tools. Sooner or later you're going to get yourself into trouble where they'll come in handy.

No you won't. The download page doesn't work.
I'll probably do it later then.
IIRC it's been like that for a week or more. Just do the ADB flash. Or use Flashify. That's just as easy as Goo.
Download the Flashify app, download the TWRP recovery img file to your phone and install with flashify from your phone.

Correct. As long as you have the img file and not zip.
You'll just go in to your downloads and tap it, install with flashify and you're done. Restart the device in fastboot mode and scroll to recovery to make sure it took.

Just don't use goo manager to flash roms. It's way too easy to find a rom that is not for your device and flash it. I'll use goo to put on the recovery and then remove it from my phone

It's possible but not likely. If anything it just won't over write the stock recovery.
when trying to install TWRP with goomanager says 403 error when downloading, why?

For some reason I can't get flashify to work. When I press on the IMG I want to flash it doesn't do anything.
But I also know how to use adb so it's not a huge issue.

ERROR 7

Hi.
I have problem ERROR 7. I try flash some ROMS, and last flash crashed and write ERROR 7. I found some solutions, but every time you need copy some files to memory on phome. BUT.. my System doesnt start, then I have no chance to copy files to phone. When system start, every time go to recovery
How can i fix it?
PLS help Mi..
THX..
If I'm right, error 7 is an issue with the updater-script. Try redownloading the ROM, because it could be a bad download, but if it still doesn't work, switch recoveries

If you were trying to flash KitKat without CWM 6.0.4.3 or a wrong ROM for your phone you'll get this message.. It is generally due to the updater script..
What phone do you have, and what rom were you installing?

Great app but this isn't an official one.
The XDA thread has been closed and there's no update on Google Play for 2 months.
I don't know if jmz still has other projects... Flashify is also a great app to directly flash the img files without a PC.
I heard that
Code:
fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
works pretty well...

It doesn't hurt to know all the options and procedures. Actually OP would have already known this if he hadn't used a toolkit to root in the first place
-1 for toolkits
But yes, options are:
Fastboot flash img
recovery install zip
Flashify flash img
Thanks to all for the help suggestions , but yeah I used a tool kit which means I don't know how to do it manually that's why I asked for the easiest way to update .

Do the above. Just go into recovery and wipe system and flash 4.4, check its the full rom and not just the update. If it is get a full rom first.
