The main issue is that i want to update to the newest software 4.2.2 but when i check for the update, nothing pops up. Am currently outside the US and the phone has not been rooted. Am stuck on the 4.1.1. Pls any help will be much appreciated.

Plug in your phone and run this RUU.

Actually, any of your choice which suits your needs. You might wanna create a Gold Card first however.
When I try to update my Htc One s C2 to JB i get variant system version error. My software is stock, and it is locked. I don't know what to do.

Do you try to use the builtin update procedure? Then you should contact HTC or your carrier.

I am not with any carrier,i is there any other way to solve this problem, other than contacting HTC, and yes I was trying to update over software updates in settings.
