New Firefox out...wont work?

Firefox released their newest beta today (11/4)....supposedly 25% faster than the stock browser. It's up for download, but I couldn't get it to open: Says device is incompatible or something like that. I'm running CM6.1 ....anyone else having problems?

You need to download the one compiled for ARMv6: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android#ARMv6_.28experimental.29

Thanks! I appreciate it. EDIT: Just tried it. Doesn't work either. Keeps crashing before it even opens. Bummer. Anyone else have any luck on the newest BETA build?

not worth it..slow as hell browser. the stock browser is faster. PLUS it takes 40mb of space!!!

The new beta that they released is supposedly 60% smaller than the last release and 25% faster than the stock browser. Check out the article about it: http://phandroid.com/2010/11/04/firefox-4-beta-updated-speed-boosts-push-it-ahead-of-stock-browser/

Ah, that sucks. The thing that keeps me from trying Firefox Mobile (besides it taking up around 17 MB), is that the UI hasn't been optimized for MDPI yet.

According to the wiki page for the System Requirements (follow links on page), the CDMA Hero (Sprint) is not supported. :/

Well, actually I had to make an account to download the files, which I used for my phone back then.
OFF TOPIC: I'm wondering if Cricket Wireless is any good in basements using a CDMA Hero; paying about $80 is overkill for me... I WANT MONEY so i can buy other things... =|

Sprint VVM Update

This is the newest update for Sprint's VVM Version T.5.1.0.48. Make sure to uninstall your old apk before flashing this one.
I've personally tested it on a Sense 2.1 ROM and the latest CM6.1.0 and can confirm it working.
If you have an issue provisioning with AOSP see post #24 for possible fix

I don't see any improvements really..they are offering a Voicemail to text feature free for a month then it's like $2 a month after that. It doesn't auto sign you up for it though. I was forced to find and install the update however. Kept getting annoying reminders.

Seems to wonk fine for me on 6.1RC1

widget?
anyone's vvm widget get jacked up after this upgrade? it comes up on my widget list, but when i go to put it on my home screen, i get the problem loading app error. the shortcut to the program works, but i do not get the numeric indicator.

Just so everyone know, this does NOT work on
[ROM-DEV] HTC Sense Android 2.2.1 V8.1 Deodexed, Flash 10.1, WiFi: Updated 11/12
You will get the random messages from "9016" but you will never get the VVM icon or a message inside the app.

Try the one from my sig, and see if that works, if not than we'll go from there

Yea, I'm getting that, too... the activation message wont deliver...just says "one message pending". Except I'm getting it now with the previous version of VVM. Even re-flashed CM 6.1 RC1, then Impaled Gold, and blah! same crap. out of the blue, really.

Does the version that comes in IG work? Might be an aosp issue

Well I have no idea what I did...but it seems to be working...

[Q] Genie Widget Weater and News App

Has anyone tried putting the genie news and weather app on the HTC Thunderbolt? I keep getting a force close each time I try to run the app. I have been able to install it with no problems, I have also grabbed the filed from a few different locations just to be sure the file is not bad. However, I used the same file on my X and it worked fine. Both are running 2.2 the only difference is HTC and the damn sense.
Can anyone offer any advice as to how to get this widget working on the HTC Thunderbolt. I love this widget and I have become use to checking it daily. It is great to have news and weather together.

SCH-S968C Roms.

I have rooted my phone (SCH-S968C) and everything. I read a forum that said you can install a rom from SCH-i535 and It was successful but you couldn't call and text. I need a rom exactly for the SCH-S9968C. Thanks :fingers-crossed::laugh:

Did you ever find the correct rom? I flashed the new gummy rom. It works great but i have no mobile data!! I cant get my 3g or anything. When i go to set a new apn it will not save. Please tell me you found somthing that may help me.

both of you start your journey here, all the goodies, just takes a few fixes and 3rd party apps if that's cool with you, its explained in the thread just read carefully, there is even a stock tar, unbrick.img, modem.zip, and bin files for the camera fix earlier in the thread just look back til you find what you need, hope you got an old sim card though, doesn't have to be active just as long as you have one, good luck! ENJOY

I eventually uninstalled the clean ROM and reflashed my stock rom. I have yet to try a new ROM since. Have you flashed a ROM where everything works?

ROMS with newly found working fixes are in the thread, all the d2lte roms and d2vzw roms are now working except for stock camera and stock MMS but there is a camera app that fixes camera and a fix for MMS through hangouts or a 3rd party text app, other than that its smooth sailing on all ROMs, there's even a working CM12 (lollipop 5.0) ROM!!!!! SWEET

the thread discusses needed FIXES for the ROMs, do a search for the d2vzw and d2lte ROMs, they are in the verizon S3 forums, find the ROM you want but go back to the thread I linked to find how to make the ROMs work, you'll have to read the thread and do the work yourself but there are fixes for everything you'll run into in the thread

No, you just need to get a CDMA SIM, a Verizon LTE 4G SIM is best, yes, I know the device is 3G, dont bother asking or wondering, just take my word for it, ALL of the LP d2vzw ROMs require SIM because they are for the Verizon S3 which is a 4G device and 4G devices require SIM for service and data, that makes us need it also. Another thing, stock MMS won't work with any other SIM than Verizon 4G SIM then dialing *228 to auto program SIM then manually edit APNs. Get a SIM and I'll set you up with what you need. Until you get a SIM just go back to stock or one of the kit kat ROMs from the first 6 months of last year and you won't need the SIM on those.

I don't know about the preview version. Everything is hush hush for now.
The team of guys I know are pretty good at what they do. Its mostly in the works upstream with the CM team. The guys I know are working as it comes from upstream. Its coming soon to the STS3 though. The team I know is already at work on it, they have it under control, I don't know about the other ROM teams though. It won't be out for beta testing for a couple of months so just be patient.

No recent news or developments yet, they are still working on it, very few teams or developers have it ready to go yet, I've seen it released for other devices but not this one yet.

new roms?

So its been some months since note 5 came out and i understand it just got rooted and custom kernal, but why is there only 1 rom? I say 1 because i count moar as a custom rom, the other is stock rom with removed bloatware.

Alot of people still holding on to the note 4.

Other devs will be here soon as well... (Ahem @sac23 ahem)

I know what you mean, a debloated ROM would be cool. But so many of the other variants are supported by roms in the regular Note 5 development, kinda sucks no one wants to support CDMA devices

WiFi works ? now the radio...the radio is a pain since it's not the Samsung one (GSM versions have this)...we have a qcom radio...once that's working I'll release it...

I am personally loving the MOAR ROM. It would be nice to have an opportunity to run a CM ROM as well. Thank you @djvoleur for your support on this device, the hard work is most certainly appreciated

I so hope this won't be a wild goose chase to get NFC and GPS working, like it was back on my old G3

I have no idea how roms work...but cant ya share? Like gps...isnt it like a driver for computer? So why arnt these "drivers" shared as a common development factor. Thats 1 thing i think all dread trying a new rom our is when 1 feature or more doesnt work, maybe even play store missing
