Franco kernel vs Bricked - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using the faux kernel right now but haven't been real happy with the battery life. Which one is better for this between the Franco and the Bricked. Or which one does everyone prefer over the other. Thanks for any info

Should go in q&a not development.

Nexus S I/O speed improvement script

Hi,
I saw a thread in the development forum few days ago. It was about a script which improves the io speed but the thread is away. I think it works for all hummingbird devices and the original thread is in another forum but I can't find it.
It would be very cool if somebody share the link.
Thanks

It was deemed as it wasn't necessary. If you want faster I/O flash a rom and kernel that has these tweaks. Such as CM7 and Trinity kernel.

Actually - you can. Try my MIUI ROM since it has even more tweaks, including I/O Tweaks.

LOL, you got me!
old thread, but does anyone know of something like this? i'd like to improve I/O on a stock rom instead of running cm7. Right now i'm running the latest stock odexed rom with trinity kernel at 1.3 ghz.

Oxygen vs Deck

Which one is best for unbloat and battery life?
I looked at videos and reviews but none show which ones have more unwanted apps removed.
The time you used doing that you could have flashed and tested the roms.
Oxygen. The first rom I flashed when I got my phone and its great when you get a deep idle kernel

What is a good deep idle kernel?

Very true but I like opinions of others to get info I might not get from my own tests

He asked what's a good deep idle kernel, not what is it.
A good one would be either franco.Kernel or matr1x.

Kwiboo by far. Not really an opinion. Most functional and has 20 times as many thread replies as anyone else.

I'm using V2 on my i9020A and loving it. I flashed Koush's 1st rom too but it didn't have wifi 3g or SMS I also flashed koushs second release and everything except camcorder works but the SMS apk he added was off (the icon is too big) or maybe I should say that its bigger than the rest of the icons. All in all I'd say that V2 is the most stable. But Koush is a hell of a dev so I'd say his will be looking good in the next couple releases

We have cm11. And most of the special features will be hardware related, so not gonna get those.

LOL. That instantly made me think of A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthurs Court. Read it if you haven't. Twain was one funny dude.
