Hello, hoping there is something like this out there. My setup is, I have my tablet in my car for media/GPS. My phone is tethered over WiFi to tablet to share internet. I would like to have it that when I receive a call on my phone a notification on my tablet comes up with an answer or decline button and maybe who is calling. It needs to be handled over the WiFi connection as the phones Bluetooth is already being used for hands free..
Has anyone seen something like this?
Thanks

Noob question here, i would like to know if it is possible to send my cellular connection to another phone by bluetooth maybe? Let's say i have this old cdma smartphone that i like alot and i would like to use it sometimes but my line is on a new hspa sim card phone... Is it possible to establish a bluetooth connection to the new phone and use the old one to make calls. I don't know what VPN connections are but could this be used for making the link. My old phone is a windows 6.1 device and my new one is an android.

If you want to make calls from your tab just go to the market and get NetTalk it is free and work great using both wifi and data for placing calls. Only downside is no inbound calls, hey but I am sure someone will build a workaround.

Well I know there can be a little delay sometime when talking but never unable to hear the other part. Try using the speaker phone option on your phone that may help. Not practicle but my help?

I can't find this app in the market, can post a link to it? Thx.
EDIT: found it in webmarket, but says its not compatible with galaxy tab....does anyone have a link to the apk file?
Groove IP and Google Voice, it works like a charm so far. I have my Tab rooted and can call normally, but I wanted wifi calling, without Skype. This app did the trick, it's actually pretty amazing. This should work on a wifi only tab as well.
The app is like $4 and worth it. I am still tweaking the call quality settings, but I am happy. You can find the Facebook page if you need to talk to the dev, and he/she seems pretty responsive.

Are you talking about the market giving you a warning that the file may be too large to download over mobile data? If so, I got that message for World of Goo (~50mb; had wifi symbol in market) and I just pressed OK and it started downloading over 4G.

I have a fix for this. It just depends on what your trying to do with the wifi.

What you asked is impossible (to trick the phone and make it think its connected)
Create wifi access point with your phone and then connect there!
Thats what you want and what problaly dont working but use search...in Neo or Arc forum is 1thread and long discussion how and is it possible.
Cheers

Is that even possible? My phone disables wifi when making a hot spot also i'm sure since the wifi is being used to broadcast it can't be used to connect to any
Swyped from just about every ROM in the HD2 section
Are you talking about downloading from the market, cuz unless your carrier blocks it, I've never found anything on the market I can't download over mobile data (even if it gives me the warning dialog). If it's not in the market, I've downloaded files like 900 mb or more. Not sure what the problem is unless it's your carrier, in which case, whatever you do to trick your phone still won't trick the provider, I think.

buy a $15 wireless router. Tada.
I think he's talking about games from like gameloft and stuff, That require wifi only to download the extra game data. That's what I got from of his post at least. And to answer his question... I have no idea.

Hi,
I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 and a Galaxy S3, and them both with a SIM. My primary line is in Galaxy S3 and second one in Galaxy Note 10.1.
Is there any app that route a call from Note 10.1 to Galaxy S3 (using S3 as an headset) or at least a notification that my second line is ringing?
Thanks in advance,
Vinicius Cordeiro

Will it work in reverse way as showed in app description? Actually I don't care about SMS, just interested in calls notificações.
Thanks anyway. Isso there another choice?

Perfect calum96. It´s really what I searching!
I´ve set Galaxy S3 to be a tablet and Note 10.1 to be the phone, now I´m receiving notifications in S3 when someone call Note 10.1.
I hope that developer can route the call through Wifi connection, do you think is it possible?
Re: [Q] Routing calls from tablet to phone
Yes you can do that! Go into settings and select wifi instead of Bluetooth, I have my phone left upstairs oncharge with this connected and just use my tablet around the house such a useful app

I am interested in this as well.
So. I have looked, And looked. Tried XDA, android central, Google search. No answers. Even called Google about this. I had an HTC incredible s before the n5 running 4.0.4. I would be connected to my WiFi. Mobile data would be off. I would send a MMS. Mobile data would turn on, send the MMS and turn off. All the while WiFi was still on. Now after some search it seems this was a code I'm the framework of sense ROMs. The phone was rooted and running mike1986 ROM. Awsome feature. Fast forward to today. N5 will not let me do this. My wife's moto x is the same issue. Now I understand this is not a huge deal to some but to have to turn off WiFi to send AND receive even the notification of an MMS is annoying. Is there any way to get around this? I have tried 8sms, and another app. Can't remember the name. No luck. Thanks guys!
No one?

@montrealer99 use textra does exactly that and can send sms and mms straight over wifi and it uses ur actual phone number
Thank you. Tried it today but still no luck. I find it hard to believe its so complicated for Google to fix this or at least add it as an option after 4.0
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
So it seems that as a battery saving idea, mobile data gets turned off when WiFi is connected. Will not allow MMS to function.

Same thing. Now one person at my work has a n5 on a different carrier and it works. Another is on the same carrier as that person with a gs4 and it does not work. Both are running 4.4.2
