WMwifi router app NAT settings for XboxLive

Has anyone messed around with this app and figured out how to properly adjust the NAT settings for xbox live? I know the ports that need to be opened are
TCP 80
UDP88
UDP/TCP3074
UDP/TCP 53
I dont know if those numbers need to be under local or destination port or what to put for ip destination. Any help would be appreciated.
Xbox Live will connect under the strict NAT settings if left unmodified but I was hoping to make a "OPEN" with some NAT settings and tweaking.
Also this is not the HTC WIFI APP I am using it is the WMWifi app.

In my opinion it is impossible to open ports via GSM (hsdpa, gprs, .....).

Sorry I haven't but I wouldn't imagine xbox live would be much use through mobile internet anyway. The only use i could think of would be messaging but you can do that through the xbox.com site. Hope you find an answer though so you can find out if it is any use.

That's what I thought but this WMWifi app has settings for opening ports and adjusting NAT settings.

Actually with a strict NAT playing online doesn't use that much data. Well at least games like UNO, Gears of War 2, Halo 3, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 & Madden '10. There is hardly any lag (at least for me so far) but the downside is voice chat is basically unusable. Sure it works some times but more often than not it really doesn't. And also it is a good idea if you let your friends host and try not to on your end, lets just say the results are not favorable.
Now downloading videos or game demos takes a toll. Netflix seems somewhat manageable. Just don't expect to stream a HD netflix movie.
**If anyone else knows if this app actually lets you modify ports and forwarding please let me know.**
***Also as a sidebar question, does anyone know of a wifi app that the PS3 will recognize and connect to? I have tried:

if u have vista or win 7 theres a sidebar gadget that lets u change ur nat settings over wifi very easy.. i use it almost every day cause i play on all 3 regions and i wont let me open those ports 4 all ip adresses that means have 2 switch it quickly woud really love a programm like this on winmo and who is fkn gaystation

So your saying all I have to do is hook up my HTC HD2 to a computer running either Vista or Windows7 OS and there is a sidebar gadget that will change the NAT settings on my WMWiFi app on my phone so I can then wireless tether my HD2 to my Xbox360 and get on XboxLive with "open" NAT.

Logmein Remote Control "Ignition for Android"

I've been waiting for this app and am not disappointed. What a great way to remote control your desktop. All you need is this client on your Evo and a free account at logmein.com. Total no brainer setup. The App is in the market as of today. Very cool.

This is by far the most underwhelming product logmein has come up with. I was a beta tester and I can tell you I would recommend waiting on this to mature (or not buy it at all).
This app force closes, has a memory leak, sometimes will randomly log me out of my pc, and my personal favorite - restarts my phone at will.
I have tried it with
- stock rom
- rooted rom
- diff evo
- new sd card (for giggles)
- on wifi
- on 3g
To ask 30 bucks for this is absolutely crazy. It's a pitty really. I would almost think about it if it was reliable.

Yeah, seriously, this is one of the worst product ever and definitely the worst ever from LogMeIn.
Everything that fr0st said + the app doesn't even let you use your finger as the mouse. Rather, you have to drag the screen around to your static mouse position... W.T.F!
The web interface for LogMeIn is WAY better than this app AND it's free. $30? Again, W.T.F are these guys smoking...?

Ah, no. Not giving you 30 bucks to call tech support.

I used the beta too and found it difficult to navigate the pc with the static mouse. The 30 dollar price tag is WAY too much for an app in my opinion. Unless it does something amazing.

for those with the technical knowledge and ability, Wyse has a VERY nice RDC/VNC client available. (basically, configure your home pc to accept rdc connections and configure your router to allow the traffic through and viola...direct RDP connection...no logmeinscrewyou needed.)

All those issues pretty much stink. I've been using it for a couple days pretty hard and have not had a single issue....yet. I'm using a rooted 1.47 and have used it on wifi, 3g and 4g without a problem. The screen movement under the mouse takes a little getting used to but I kind of like it now. I'm new to android and have not tried any of the other remote apps but it sounds like I need may to, to get some perspective. For now it is the only way I can run my company scheduling program on my Evo.

What about a remote control software for mac?

I haven't had any force closes with lmi for android and I've been using it for over a month. To be able to remote into the more than 100 pcs that I support, from my EVO, is a huge time saver. Worth the money to me.

I am just saying I would not recommend it. If it works for you thats awesome. I support clients all over the US and logmein would be a great benefit to me. However even when you contact tech support the tell you "its a new app, give it time". So I am waiting for it to improve.
Also. Please provide the rom your using a point of reference. I would like to do some additional testing.

OK, well Wyse looks very cool and I configured it and all, but just get a Could not connect to server message...

i use it to connect to both work and personal systems...in local network and through firewalls...both RDP and VNC...to a few flavors of Windows and one flavor of linux. aside from not being on a 22" wide screen it works quite well.
the only thing i can think of off the top of my head would be this....
on the username line - did you enter it like "mydomain\myaccount" or "MyComputerName\MyAccount" or simply "MyAccount".
also, you may want to try connecting via IP address...to eliminate DNS issues.

Got it all sorted out, thanks. Awesome program. WAY better than LogMeIn. Hopefully their price is reasonable when it leaves beta.

Just out of curiosity, what fixed it? It didnt work for me at first, then i set up a desktop password and it worked. My only issue with it is that you log into the computer as another user and cannot use it as to start music and have it played through the home computer.

The Windows Operating System requires a password be used on accounts that allow a RDC session (just a baseline level of security).
not sure about your last sentence.
- my assumption is that you are remoting into your desktop...double clicking on MediaPlayer...and not hearing anything on your EVO....i would expect that behavior.
- if you wish to stream audio from your home pc then you'll need an application designed to that.
- if you meant that you basically wanted to be able to scare your girlfriend by remoting in and turning on winamp with some deathmetal...you should be able to do that, but i have not tested it.
and yes, i pray they provide pleasant pricing for the product.

I just logged in using 3G instead of WiFi (so off the network) and it worked fine.

Airvideo for Android, Best alternative "Emit"

Hello Guys,
for those who's used iPad or iPhone,
one of the best app ever is the airvideo
the app transcode any video type on air and stream it to your portable devices instantly,
Unfortunately Airvideo doesn't support Android,
There are plenty other options for android such as Plex, Orbit, Mirage, etc.
But in my opinion they simply don't work as well as air video,
either they don't support as many file types, or the setup is not as simple
probably a lot of you know this already, but yesterday I found a app called Emit,
you can find it on the android market, there are both free and paid version.
the free version has ads when the video is playing, kinda annoy, but other than that its the same as the paid version (~$4)
But it is truly the closest alternative to Airvideo, everything works as it should,
and the setup is very straight forward,
there's no need to set up port forwarding or anything for remote connection.
Just go into setting and type in the special Pin code and you can connect to it anywhere that has internet connection.
If you are like me you'd love this app.

I'd second this thread, I actually downloaded Emit when I had my old N1 when the program was first released, and it worked well then.
I had an issue with the Market telling me that my SGS2 was incompatible with it, and contacted the dev. He was pretty up front in telling me that it was difficult to get in touch with Google, but he still had the problem resolved within 48 - 72 hours or so, and I was back up and running.
Cons? Access it from the net is spotty. I haven't got it to work at all.
Pros? Everything. One click pre-encode and copy to device is one of the best though. Streaming with on the fly transcoding is smooth, and works well.

I spoke too soon again
You just have to open up the two ports in tcp and udp
If you have a Linksys router like mine
Go to tab gaming and application
Name the connection emit
Port from 2000-2006 choose udp
Then type in your local IP
Go to thenext one. Again name it emit
Port 1554 to 1554
Choose tcp then again type in your local IP
Save and there you go*
Go to your setting in the emit see er on your computer
At the place you see your pin click on test connection
It should say successful now
If not read the error and see whichport you have to manually open

vizio app hacks

Anyone know if XDA will be opening hacking for some of the new tv's with apps built in? Or if anyone knows of a site that supports it?

I'd like to find this as well. We essentially have computers built into our TVs that are likely capable of running a basic Android or Google TV install. It would be quite nice to extend the functionality of such smart TVs... Especially as Vizio's own VIA apps seem quite poorly built.

I'd be a little hesitant to flash custom software to a tv that's potentially worth $1000s. Bricking a TV is a little more severe that bricking a smartphone IMHO.

Nah. A 42" Vizio TV can be had for $500. That's cheaper than some smartphones.

While there might be a good amount of interest with this. I dont see work being done on it, as theres no central OS each tv would be completely different.
Plus its alot easier to attach a small computer to the tv and go from there

I have a Vizio E3D470VX and decided to probe the wazoo out of it. nmap reports on an OS request it's replying Linux, but it's also responding and sending out SSDP requests (most likely the multi media network detection that's incomplete in this model).
The only open port through the network hookup is 13000. I started this little adventure in a hope of finding a backdoor so I might control my TV with my Kindle (yes, I'm that darn ?lazy? ) I can't seem to figure out what this port is yet.. No matter what sequence I try sending the port, it closes after a varying input sequence (UDP). Via TCP, it just auto closes.
nmap hasn't the foggiest either, even after a deep scan+UDP run on the port. But it does look like the TV has a sort of firewall response to SYN flooding, that was comical as I saw the spread between identification attempts widen from 10ms to 8000ms over a period of 6 minutes.
So, I'd be VERY interested in taking a closer look at this particular port opening. I might not go as far as to jack with the USB ports, sides, who knows if they are even active for sideloading. My real question is... is there some port connection software out there already that will run input/output test sequences to an ip address via TCP/UDP/etc and log the results to a log? I hate recreating a wheel if there's already a tool.

The Vizios seem to run a modded version of ubuntu 10.4... so yea its linux lol... hmm now how to get into terminal?? or is that even possible? also its a yahoo tv platform so visit here to make apps "omit" sorry just google yahoo tv dev and stuff, but it would be awsome to be able to upgrade to a version of android on here (a google TV version!)

I would be extremely interested in this seeing as how I'm outside the US and would like to use Hulu. Also a internet browser like chrome would be awesome on this thing. I have the VIZIO E3D320VX :fingers-crossed:

I can confirm that my Vizio e701i-a3 has port 13000 (and only port 13000) open. I am trying to figure out a way to control the TV using TCP/IP commands. According to nmap, the TV is running a 2.6 linux kernel.
I tried connecting over telnet to port 13000 but wasn't able to get any response from the TV. Putty connects but just sits there.
Any idea on where to go with this next?

I have the 60" e-series, I've also been playing around with this. Does anyone have any solution to the flooding firewall problem?

Vizio e601i-a3 Hack for a browser or Android
I also am looking for a Hack for the Vizio E601l-a3 for my dad he bought one hoping to view internet on it and doesn't really have the money to run out and buy a mini TV PC or a STB just so he can browse the web. I know their is a lot of people that are looking for a way to browse the web and also be able to download other apps that just what Vizio and Yahoo will let you.
The other possibility would be hope that Vizio now comes out with an update to Google since it looks like they have switched platforms for the 2013 line up and hopefully they will release an update capable of using the Android platform.
Anyone hear of any rumors yet??? I was hoping after CES in Vegas this weekend some more info will be released as to Vizios plans.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question as I have no idea about programming.
Is there any way to take a laptop running on the same linux and go in using the USB port.
From what I have read maybe rename a file or ??? to trick the TV into thinking it's a file that Vizio will let you open.

I also have a Vizio E3D470VX ... after getting used to the LG smart 3D tv my parents own, I expected much much much more 'smart' from this smart TV.... on the LG, available DLNA/UPnP servers show up on the 'inputs' menu, as do USB devices like thumb drives or portable hard drives plugged in. I didn't mind the fact that the 'Smart TV' part was more like widgets for somewhat poorly developed apps along the bottom, but I did mind when not only could I not play 75% of my video files from the DLNA/UPnP server (some .avi files wouldn't even show up)... then when I tried loading a few 3D movie files on a thumbdrive, turns out it used the same 'app' as the DLNA/UPnP media, and I found out they wouldn't play either!!! (files were .mkv AND .mp4) Even if the files did show up, or play - the UI was utterly horrible... and I don't mean it didn't have thumbnails or wasn't pretty - it was horrible even for a text based, folder browsing UI... I was so disappointed, that instead on moving my xbox 360 into my bedroom, I kept it in the family room to give the new Vizio 'smart' functions and the ability to play some video, and instead I got a WDTV box for the bedroom... For 3D videos, I'm back to using my computer via HDMI - which isn't bad, its just.... that is the point of a smart TV!
So I will be VERY interested if you find out anything useful in regards to hacking this firmware or some way to modify it... whether it be something similar to the LG firmware hacks, or a linux-based XBMC port, or the Google TV version of android... anything seems like it would be better than the stock offerings :good:

The Co-Star is what I first saw regarding Google TV.... kinda ticked me off seeing the EXACT same remote next to a little Vizio box w/ an article about Vizio being Google TV's new partner. I never read/saw anything about it being included into the new line of TVs, but I imagine they would at least switch from the current yahoo! based VIA .... However, even if the new 2013 line up had the same 'smart tv interface' as the Co-Star box w/ Google TV - I doubt that previous models would receive the new firmware.... as that is more of a complete firmware change than an upgrade. Also, there may be issues with their partnership w/ yahoo! TV on the current models w/ VIA who knows... but I'd be extremely surprised if they rolled out firmware upgrades for older model TVs based on the firmware for the new line coming out.
I must say though, I thought it was genius to put a keyboard on the back of the remote - until I set up the TV and saw how 'not smart' the apps were.... Would have been a great remote for my parents LG smart TV though, or if I could use it w/ my xbox... but upon seeing the 'co-star' box with the same remote next to it for Google TV - I almost wanted to call up Vizio and demand the same Google TV firmware and/or co-star box for free, with the argument that the TV was advertised as a 'smart TV' :silly:
now someone with more knowledge than me get to hacking this thing!!!

maybe theres a way to download the firmware from the new model tv's and flash it to the older tvs?
i have the vizio E422VL which has no uPNP/DLNA support but the E422VLE has UPNP support. I thin kits like 1 year newer or something so this sorta bums me out.

Wireshark the TV on power up
Grab a small 5 port switch.
Plug your laptop in and the tv to the switch.
Start wireshark - see what protocols are coming from the tv. TCP dhcp request likely first and probably some other boot protocols.
My guess is the tv looks for a tftp server first and then attempts to grab stuff to update or look for messages to update.
Wireshark should be used in conjunction with angry ip scanner, to determine what's listening and on what protocol.

Nothing recent on these ideas? I got the vizio 42" smart TV hoping I could play mkv. But at last it don't.

[APP][4.1.1.16] TWC TV - VPN/Proxy/ADB/HDMI checks removed. Watch all channels

TWC TV App with VPN, Proxy, ADB, and HDMI checks removed. My main reason for modifying this app is so that you can watch all the channels when you're away from home. All you have to do is setup a VPN server on your home network and use your phone to connect to it. I won't go into detail on setting up a VPN or proxy, but you can either set one up on a dd-wrt router or a computer that is always.
Latest version can almost watch out of home channels on the cell network. See known issues.
Notes:
1. I only tested this app on my phone running 5.1.
2. I don't have an HDMI cable for my phone, so that functionality wasn't tested.
3. I'll continue to update this app as long as I have TWC. I'll post the new version on this thread.
4. My first time decompiling an app, so this is the best I could do for now.

1. When watching an out of home channel on the cell network, an error is displayed on the video.
--Work around is to connect via vpn, proxy, or your wifi home network first. View the channel till it starts playing. Then disconnect from the home network and the stream continues to play. This is limiting if you're trying to channel surf, but only way I can get it to work at the moment.

Seems to work fine, only watched briefly on LTE. Phone is galaxy s6, 5.1.1 stock.

My upload speeds aren't fast enough to work over the vpn, so I spent a little time on trying to figure out how to get it to work over the cell network. It has limitations but works. Uploaded if you want to give it a shot. It'll work for my needs for the most part.

What changes did you make for cell network version? Mine worked on LTE on your first release via VPN.

You can disconnect from VPN and use just lte after you decide to watch a channel. My upload speeds are slow over VPN, so video is choppy.

EDIT: It's leaving the TWC banner on the top of the screen when watching live tv -- can you hide that? The old version of the app didn't have it. It appears to squish the video feed and make everything look out of proportion. Also, I am having frequent buffering issues.

what device are you using? what connection are you using? I was having buffering issues with my vpn and it was because my upload speed wasn't fast enough ( around 300 KB/s up).

I am using the FireTV over Ethernet. I am streaming over a LTE hotspot. It normally works fine. When I was having issues, I closed out of the app and went to Netflix,which was able to stream in HD. It could have been TWC itself but I just wanted to post here to see if others had similar issues. I was using the not home version and streaming HGTV which works without a VPN.

Seems ok so far. I'm going to give it a more definitive test at lunch from work. Only device that it isn't working on so far is my Nexus 5 running the Marshmallow preview 3, but the actual app doesn't work either (it just keeps spinning to load the channel on both the actual and modified app).

2 things. 1, is it possible to alter the package ID of the cell version so they can be installed simultaneously? 2, can you post some details about what was changed internally to defeat the vpn, hdmi, etc checks to mske this work? The more people capable of doing the alteration, including me, the quicker we'll be able to respond to the inevitable TWC changes.
On request 2, I've been able to decompile the app and have found many, many references that look pertinent. But some pointers on where and what to look for would be helpful.

I was getting buffering issues when I was on the VPN. I'm pretty sure it had to do with the upload speeds of my TWC connection. As for the not home version, this one is for channels that you normally aren't able to view unless you use vpn or your home network. i believe hgtv is able to stream over cell services by default. Try something like NBC or any of the sports channels and you'll get an error video. Try the work around mentioned in the OP to get around that.
As for the FireTV, I don't have one to test it out any changes I make, so its not worth my time to look into it.

First of all, thanks a bunch - works like a charm. Tested both versions. Not sure why there is a need for 2 - the "not home" works on both, home wifi and external internet connection. Second, look here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GDQ0RMG/
best in the world streaming stick, and it's not even close. Especially if you have Prime. Wipes the floor with other in both, hardware and software

The regular version you posted does not work on the FireTV, as it says it does not detect a wireless or Cellular connection (FireTV uses ethernet) - this is the default functionality from TWC. Your "not home" version gets around it and fools the app and allows the app to launch when on ethernet.

I love this app and it was a pain looking everyday for updated versions thanks for taking the time

I'm unable to get VPN'd live TV working anymore, as of around 9/30/15. Seems like something is askew. Anyone else having trouble?

I think TWC is having some issues on their end because I am having issues on twctv.com too on my laptop without any VPN needed.

current version in play store looks like 4.1.2.32 ... i wonder if it needs to be updated .. I cant seem to get live TV working on the current 4.1.1.16 apk on my device (Nexus 6, Android 6.0)
