Can't find a matching RUU
BUT
i recently helped another user with a simiar problem.
In case you unlock the bootloader and get S-OFF you can do as followed:
S-OFF your phone --> get super CID --> flash stock recovery --> change CID to e.g unbranded (HTC__001) --> Flash unbranded RUU

Thanks for reply.
Yes, I've unlocked bootloader.
But my problem is - I have bootloop.
So, I can't load Android on the phone to use adb to S-OFF my phone.
(What I found so far is - you need to have working adb to S-OFF the phone)
Which means I can't change CID to be able to flash any other RUU.
Thanks.

Yes, I can.
And:
If I go to "Factory reset" - it goes to bootloop.
If I go to Recovery - it goes to bootloop.

Yes. I know how to flash a working recovery using fastboot.
What do I do after that?
Is your sdcard working or do you have storage mount error?

So far I didn't see any errors related to sdcard.

Flash latest TWRP using fastboot.
Perform a FULL wipe.
Flash rom via ADB Sideload (TWRP supports this feature)
IMPORTANT: Your bootloader vesrion will only support 4.0x versions. May be JB too. But NO 4.3+. So i'd suggest to flash ICS rom.
You will need to flash the kernel (boot.img) manually using fastboot due to your phone is S-ON!
Just to make sure that I understood you correctly:

NO!
Maximus HD is for S-OFF only!!!
You have to use the boot.img contained in the rom you flash. Otherwise you will have a brick again.
I'm looking for a compatible Rom for you. Just some patience please.

Yes please use TWRP 2.7. ADB sideload is selectable in the TWRP menu.
Connect it to your computer. Open commandline.
Type "adb sideload ROMNAME.zip" and it will flash the rom immediately to your phone.

I go to bootloader - please, see pic1 how it looks.
I go to "RECOVERY" from FASTBOOT - HTC logo with text appears, black screen and after that the phone goes to bootloop again. See pic2.
Looks like TWRP was not installed?
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.

Have you restarted the bootloader after flashing? Pls immediately rastart the bootloader after installing twrp.
Why you got the bootloop? (What did you change?)

Don't panic
If fastboot is bugged, relock bootloader and unlock again. Then flashing will be fine.
May you tell me what caused the bootloop originally? Will help to find a solution.

some ideas you can try
You forgot to downgrade misc_version before restoring to stock.
Now, you have one of 2 options:
1) If your HBOOT is modified - you can fastboot flash recovery, connect by ADB, execute misc_version script in recovery (that step saves you ROM installation) to downgrade main version, and then execute RUU again.
2) If your HBOOT is stock and you can't do anything - you'll have to unlock it the HTC way, after unlock - execute all the above (including relocking the bootloader after main version is downgraded).

Since your hboot already using 2+, you can do following steps:
1. unlock your bootloader using htc dev
2. after unlocked, install recovery
3. go to recovery you've previous installed then connect usb and change misc version via adb
4. relock again the bootloader
5. then you can install the RUU
Hope this help.

It doesn't. At least in my case.
I had to add my cid to make it loadable but that's about it:

Then it returns to Fastboot menu again with nothing changed!

Hi Ahmed,
What is the version of your hboot? is it already 2.00+? if it is you can just unlock via htc dev to flash the recovery. No need to flash the firmware

IMO is that you dont need to flash the firmware, since you already said that you've already unlock the bootloader. I did flash the firmware because i want to unlock my bootloader.
I download this recovery image www.4ext.net/ddl/saga/recovery.zip, I flash this image in fastboot and the recovery installed successfully, maybe you can try it also.
after that you can install tacoroot for temporary root and misc version your device image version, then you can install ruu afterward.

My problem is complex. Hboot is 0.98.0002 so i can't use HTCDev to unlock. At the same time adb is not working so i can't s-off. RUUs of 2.x or 1.x do not work either as latest image was 3.x .
I think i need to upgrade Hboot (somehow) to enable HTCdev Unlock then downgrade and s-off. That may require RUU > 3.x ... and it must be RUU not OTA or update package.
My case was the same as yours thats why i flash the firmware so i can unlock my bootloader. But you are not able to flash from chinese ota i gave you earlier?

Hey.
I have decided to share the lastest firmware.zip package from HTC for One S (Snapdragon S3, VilleC2). Follow the instructions, so you will update your hboot, radio, recovery, etc.
WARNING!
I am not responsible for bricked devices, anyway I can help you with fixing them if they are still alive
Don't repack/unpack/change content of firmware.zip or it will simply get broken! Such packages are signed with HTC's unique signature which details needed to hack unfortunately hasn't been leaked yet (and they probably won't)
You have to check if your CID* is compatibile. If it's not, firmware won't be updated.
Type:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
and look for your "CID".

Did you read what I wrote about flashing zips on One S C2? fastboot oem rebootRUU needs to be issued before trying to flash zip because otherwise HBOOT will deny it (at least HBOOT 3.01).
After that HBOOT will allow flashing firmware.zip but it will fail for the first time with a line to retry immediately and then will work (like on other devices).
I mean, do you even have this phone or not? This is basic stuff, add that to the original post.

How can I flash that zip for my CID 044? Coz I can't change to supercid and my phone is s-on! And I heard that there's isn't a way to s-off yet ,so flashing this zip is seem to be the only way..
Help me guys
If your CID is not on OPs list there are a bunch of OTAs for other CIDs in a thread on the general board - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2200930
If you see yours there just download the OTA, extract the firmware.zip file from it and follow OPs instructions

Like I already said:
"There is error in one step. HBOOT will not allow flashing of firmware.zip if device is not in this mode:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
At least not HBOOT 3.01 "
It will fail for the first time with message to do it immediately after possible soft-reboot but then it will work. It's not a bug, it's a feature. So, you first issue fastboot oem lock, then this.
But original poster is not listening and editing first post.

That's impossible. Only if you first didn't do fastboot oem lock. After that you do fastboot oem rebootRUU

As long as you have access to the boot loader and/or fastboot, you're not bricked. You can technically flash Universal firmware and a recovery to get around this but you might want to flash an RUU as it'll boot you into a ROM and give you a working setup to play with.
Since you're S-OFF download and flash an RUU via fastboot, upgrade or downgrade; it makes very little difference as it will put you in a position to flash a recovery and or universal firmware.
A note on RIL/Basebands, 3.32 and 3.33 have no adverse effects of using a non matching RIL baseband so long as your WiFi and mobile network works, you should be good.
P.S: remove your SN & IMEI from your post

I skimmed over your other thread, and you probably should have tried a kernel with BCM drivers if you haven't already.
Try with a different (and known to work) USB.
Also, make sure HTC Sync is closed and that you run the RUU as administrator.

You're S-OFF, however your bootloader is locked. Meaning commands are locked, S-OFF disables security allowing you to flash things without being signed by HTC.
Could you try this:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem rebootRUU (if you get SDcard errors, take out your SDCard and try again)
fastboot flash zip PG58IMG.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader

That's odd. Insert your SDCard after formatting it and placing the PG58IMG.zip on it. Then reboot into bootloader. See if it works, and let me know.

Fail-PU errors generally correspond to firmware corruption
Which is pretty hard to solve
If Op can exactly tell flashing what caused this issue
Maybe we can have a chance
Btw can the phone go to recovery?
Also how did the patched hboot flash went?

what your cid number...?
first you must know what your cid number in your phone..to know that..you can typing at fastboot command "fastboot getvar all" or "fastboot getvar cid", after that you must find the right RUU that are suitable with your cid number and had equal or higher build number version than yours..or you can show the output in here..(i will try help you find it the right RUU for your phone) but don't forget to remove your imei and serial number from the list first..to avoid someone that can cloning your phone..
for completed information you can following a guide all about RUU from here..
hope this help..

what about if you tried installing RUU again...?, because just only this way can fix your bootloader.. just don't forget to relock your boorloader first before that..
because your bootloader is already corrupt..that's why can't show all bootloader menu..
EDITED: IF RUU still fail...maybe you can tried flash this firmware (this TMOUS firmware) through bootloader...just copied this firmware file (PG58IMG.zip) to the root of your sdcard (root sdcard is mean don't placed in any folder on your sdcard..just outside them)..and boot to bootloader..then let bootloader check it..then wait to confirm updating with pressing vol up...wait until finish..confirm reboot with power button..

Hi all
I use HTC One X, but bought some time ago HTC One S, it worked fine for some time, but yesterday restarted and from that point I could not get it back neither to recovery nor ROM anymore. Phone bootloops and I can only get to fastboot.

Hm, really strange behavior, had couple of HTC phones but never seen something like this happening.
I did run RUU (first changed cid and relocked), everything went fine (no errors), but still cannot boot. My experience so far was that if RUU runs fine, you should boot without problem. Thinking more and more that there is some hardware problem, that is causing phone to bootloop.
If anyone has any idea, I would appreciate it a lot.
Thanks

According to your first post, everything seems to be okay. Your drivers are seeing the phone, and the phone is recognizing its hardware.
Which recoveries did you try to flash? (TWRP, CWM)
And which version?
Have you tried to reroot the device and flash a recovery again since running the RUU?
From my experience with running an RUU, you should be able to boot right away. What were the steps you took (in order) before you ran the RUU?
Sorry for all the questions, trying to establish a scenario.
[EDIT] Also, I see that you got the initial recovery from the CM11 ROM page. You didn't happen to flash a ROM that is meant for HBOOT 2.16 did you? I sure hope not. That could be a possibility as to why you can not boot anything.

I've tried both. fastboot flash recovery imgname would work fine, but I would again finish in bootloop after restart.

You mean reunlock, not reroot, right? I've done reunlock so I could flash recovery.

I would run:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
and then start RUU.

Try getting into bootloader and pushing the kernel this way: fastboot flash boot boot.img
you don't have to be in recovery for this. The phone is s-on right?
[edit] actually your security says it's off.

No, it didn't work, this is something more serious
I've basically tried all I could think of, from doing RUUs (3 of them), flashing boot and recovery images, going 2.15, 2.16, locking/unlocking (obviously) and finally going S-On (ok, might be stupid, but I run out of ideas).
Bottom line is that all of the flashing worked for me, I get no error, but even simple fastboot boot recovery.img brings back the bootloop.
For example:
>fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-ville-selinux.img
sending 'recovery' (8668 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.108s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 2.059s]
finished. total time: 3.173s
>fastboot reboot
and if I hold Vol- and select recovery in bootloader I am back to bootloop.
Same thing if I try:
>fastboot boot openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-ville-selinux.img
I just do not understand why I am not getting any error message when flushing and is it possible that there is something wrong with the hardware that causes this behavior...

Sounds like you have a soft brick on your hands.
Can you boot the device at all, stock or custom ROM?
Maybe reverting to COMPLETE STOCK and starting over fresh will help?
What was the last thing you did right before you got stuck?

No, I cannot boot, after RUU that runs fine, phone still bootloops and only thing I can do is go into bootloader.
When you say COMPLETE STOCK, you mean RUU, right?
I was talking on the phone and phone restarted. After that I was able to boot after many tries, after restart, could not boot and than tried RUU etc...

And here we are. Do you happen to have the old All In One Kit that became obsolete, by hasoon2000? It has the function to flash your recovery back to stock. I found two mirrors on the internet, but because of the rules, I can't post them. But they are accessible through the internets if you use the right keywords.

If you haven't lost all hope, try reading through this and (Return to Stock - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164783) see if you missed anything?
You seem pretty savvy in your HTC ONE S know-how. But it's always good to follow someone else's tutorial just for guidance.
Seems issue with Recovery, bootloop is normal

Hi,
Bootloop is normal for ROM geeks.
In your case, it seems your phone has issue with version of Recovery. I had this issue too and found correct Recovery @ http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/ville ....
You can give a try..:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Have you tried this? :
--> flash STOCK recovery via fastboot or toolkit
--> Boot to bootloader --> Factory Reset(Userdata) / Clear Stotage (SD-card) (these commands only work with STOCK recovery)
Before I got the same problem, so in Bootloader I did Factory Reset and then flash the Recovery TWRP 2.6.3.0. Now it works
