How's the difference?
Hi there, great job, the mod is working great Pkmn ROM v5.1.
Isn't it just a preset for an equalizer? Or does it actually enhance the sound quality by improving bitrate and whatsoever

I'm on Ordroid 9.0.0. with Bricked kernel.
Using the Beats headphones that came with the Sensation XE (bought separately, i'm using a standard Sensation) plugged into the headphone socket, I notice much clearer and crisper sound using the Beats effect and there is a noticeable difference between each of the other equalization modes. The bass is increased drastically on the SRS setting, so much so that it's more powerful than the Beats setting.
But when i plug the same headphones into my Sony Ericsson MW600 bluetooth headset there doesn't seem to be hardly any effect and the Beats icon does not appear in the notification bar even after changing to no effect and back to Beats.
Also, when directly plugged in, in the notification drag down there is an entry as to which sound effect i am currently using and it can be changed from there. When using the bluetooth headset this is totally missing.
If you could get the same functions via bluetooth this would be an excellent improvement!

If there would be 'bitrate improvements' it would mean it would re-encode the track to another format. Maybe it's better to ditch the whole idea of 'bitrate improvement' thru sound rendering.
OQ: This is a collection of presets for the htc music stock player.
For all other questions: At this moment the OP says enough, Sense 4 base build 1.11 Ville_C RUU. It's what you get, for now.
Possibly later on there will be more versions available also for different devices.

Okay I flashed the cyanogenmod rom... and im not sure if i still have my beats audio because everytime it used to show a beats audio logo on the top and even in the notification bar and it had a circle with a green check next to it giving u the option to turn off and on beats audio...now not so much.. can someone tell me if i do or not and can u help me get it back if not?
Beats audio was more of a software than a hardware feature on the One X. The cm10 people and probably most of the us who use it would prefer and point you towards the DSPManager app that is installed. That gives you a fuller control over the equalizer and is typically better than the beats audio software.
Also try jet audio player.. It's awesome and has an equalizer, a bunch of presets, and you can really tweak the sounds.. I look in the themes and apps to find a copy

You should be glad.
Beats audio is just a gimmick. An equalizer, a software feature, not hardware.
The audio engine that comes with CM10 is much better , and acid audio,,etc.

Agreed. Beats isn't even necessary if you use an amplifier like Poweramp. What Beats adds is hardly anything but a bit of low bass resonance. If its off and you have an equalizer you can easily make up the sound difference with said equalizer.
I happen to enjoy Poweramp. It turns my car audio setup Into an even more powerful stereo due to preamp etc.

Beats audio sounds the best to me. Acid audio nearly blew my speaker because i installed it and i played a song and i couldnt control my volume.
I find a normal app Beats Audio. It's working, but I don't see big diference. Try it, L owners

It makes no difference except for a beats icon in the statusbar

Hi! I have heard of ACID, Viper, and other sound engines. I'm just wondering what audio engine are you using on your Xperia E or are you using the stock xLoud. And which would you suggest as the best fit for Xperia E?
I'm using viper's right now. thanks...

I use PureAudio by Jeeko. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41786745&postcount=1
Although I'm not a fan of anything associated with Beats, I like this engine. It really gives a nice, richer sound, because the audio renders a lot faster. This is not a placebo, and I promise you will find a great improvement, especially in songs with a lot of vocal.
I had it on my CM10, and then I had to reflash it. I listened some music without this engine, and you really miss it. My example is Demons by Imagine Dragons. It starts with a nice vocal, and somehow the voice of Dan Reynolds sounds better with this audio. Hard to explain, you have to experience it yourself.
Note: I'm talking headphones/earbuds here. The sound of the speaker won't be much better.
Hope I informed you well, and have a nice day!

hello buddy here is a little trick that u can enjoy good quality of sound on both speaker and headphones. Tried and tested and hundred percent working in stock rom of XE. for me viper is the best just u have to be rooted. install the app viper4android and install the drivers from the app itself. Now using root browser remove sound enhancements and and music fx but dont remove the libs.
reboot.
et voila!
u have now viper but also fully functional xloud on ur XE.
:highfive:
I use v4a, and will always keep using it. I prefer it because I like the Dynamic Bass System. It'll literally create that BOOM-BOOM effect if u know what I mean (earpods/earbuds/headphones)
