[GUIDE] Use whatsapp with ART [4.4] [NOV-19-2013]

INTRODUCTION
Hi everybody! After using the old method of installing whatsapp's old.42 and .50 version, cernekee found that flashing libart.so in system partition, we would be able to install whatsapp from playstore without depending on the version.
I just did a flasheable zip which:
- Installs neccessary lib
- Fixes permissions
The procedure is very simple...​
HOW-TO
1. Download libart.so_flashable.zip from the bottom of the post and push it to your sdcard
2. Swich (if u hadn't already done it) to ART runtime mode under developer options
3. Flash the fix from recovery
4. Install whatsapp from playstore
5. Voilá, latest whatsapp version working with ART​

HOW TO GENERATE LIBART.SO FIX
1. thank cernekee for this. He has made an amazing job!
2. Apply the patch from cernekee's github to your AOSP tree
3. "make dex2oat" from the top level
4. The new file will show up in out/target/product/mako(or your device's name)/system/lib/libart.so

Is it bad to flash it while still using dalvik?

I have downloaded the flashable, extracted the libart.so, rebamed the one in system/lib to libart.so.bak, and copied the extracted one to system/lib & set correct permissions.
Then I set the runtime to art and let it reboot. Didn't even uninstall whatsapp and everythings working.
I have used the minimal gapps from pa which are compatible with art

Remove the com.WhatsApp folder in data/data

But ART is still in development stages.......and to my knowledge enabling it will eat up storage space, right?

Sorry for stupid question but can i use this flashable zip in I9300 with CM11 ROM?
Nevermind just installed .50 and Whatsapp backup and everything is working on ART now.

anyway to get whatsapp working on a non rooted moto x? its not a big deal for me so i'll stay on ART, but it would be nice.

Doesn't work for me.. after flashing everything crash (same problem of the previous user)... any suggestion? the last time i had to re-flash cyanogemod 11, is there a possibility to uninstall the zip only? Thanks

Have you set the correct permissions for the libart.so?
Maybe the device has to be in dalvik, sonthat it compiles the apps with something set in that libart.so?
For me the manual push to system worked great )

Had set the permission accordingly. Tried both at Dalvik and ART. Also tried uninstall and cleanup the whatsapp at data/data/com.whatsapp before flashing.
All of these procedure fail and fc.

Hancom Office from Note Pro

New and working version released on Samsungs AppStore. Old "dump" files deleted.
New version is working great so far.

DAT file is just in system...copy there where your build prop is.
apks - system/app or simply install
libs into system/lib folder.
change to rw/r/r

if u want this app on any device, then you have to be rooted either way anyway copy all of the files from TB folder on to ur titanium backup folder on ur devices and restore all the 7 files WITH TITANIUM BACKUP APP,

Hcell and Hshow it is ok, but Hword isn't working....after open the app, it closes. Show the message: Hword end!!

The only app of the set that gives fc on Note 10.1. On the other hand, on my sgs4 running tw 4.4.2 samy latest firmware ( I mean carotix CarHdrom v 19 or 19.1) everithing, including hword, seems to work flawlesly. The fact that Note 10.1 runs an older op suytem, pehaps has to do with failiure.

Note 8 is omnirom 4.4.2, HTC one is rooted stock 4.4.2

This pal managed to get Hword working on N8000 stock 4.1.2, but he has been pretty silent since then. I wonder if...

Well, my sgs4 5 inch screen ( tw and 4.4.2 android op sys), runs smootly hword. I did same prcedure on both devices, bt note 10.1 is a f..g idiot
and refuses to display hword. Seem that soem peolpe got it runnning on 10.1 , 4.1.2 tw . Show us ..please.

Sorry if not for others - but for me works on S4 and Note8...i do not use Word and PowerPoint that much - but Hcell works very nice - best one currently on Android.

Hi, I've tried installing the standalone APKs and the files from the Titanium Backup and all give a Forced Close on HWord. I also have the Note 10.1 (2012). Is anyone able to fix this?

After add line to end build.prop must save and delete build.prop.bak and reboot

what specific file explorer are you using? make sure you saved the changes you made. in my case i used Root Explorer because im not successful in editing build.prop in ES file explorer despite granting it with root access. also make sure that the file has permission RW-R-R :good:

make sure you already created an access point specific to your network and choose it as default. i dont encounter such error. or you can try try reflash your rom to make sure

I also encountered FC in walkman at first install of this rom, i think that happened when i uninstalled some of the bloatwares, now i reinstall the rom and did not delete bloatwares now my walkman is working fine, i also would like to ask if you have radio after installing this rom, because i have no radio application installed and upon checking in systems/apps, radio.apk was there...

But is there a way to hide soft buttons?
They're useless on JLO so how to hide it?

Yes BTW i already solved that problem. But now i need the not swapped vold.fstab cause the one in the OP doesnt work, it doesnt recognize any storage

I didnt make the apps or did any modifications into them i just ported them for sm-g7102 who are using gennxt note 4 rom .... and i give sincere thanks and credits to maxx35000 for the apps and also me for making them available for gennxt N4 rom

Installing default Video.apk for Marshmallow ends up - Video has stopped working

ROM name: [SM-G920/5F] NanoROM TWOSP 5.5.4 20160802 [PDP][Anti-Random-Reboot]
ROM version and base: 5.5.4 PDP
The ROM does not run a lot of default applications so I have ended up having to adjust and install certain .APKs including video myself. I have successfully installed S MEMO and set the permissions.
I attempted to do the same for the video.apk linked in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/themes-apps/app-request-stock-s6-video-player-t3161722 . However, after putting the app and appfolder in system/priv-apps/video and setting folder permission to rwx-rx-rx and apk permission to rwx-r-r, then subsequently rebooting, after the reboot the app crashes and doesn't work. can anyone provide me assistance in installing the default video .apk?

The apk and folders were named the same, still didn't work. The flash however worked, any idea why this worked and not the others?
