Hi all,
On my previous Galaxy S2 I've always used Zedge to download custom ringtones and notifications. I just did the same on my new Nexus, but when I set them for my ringtone, the sound won't play right when I got a message, and there comes up another sound.
I've tried other ringtones etc. from Zedge, but all of them give the same weird sound.
I've searched to the Q&A-section and on Google, but couldn't find anything. Somebody knows something?

BTW: I use everything stock.

I'm new and tried googling and all for this problem. I installed a custom rom (miri) and froyostone android and for some reason I can't select a ring tone or any other sound setting.
My phone calls work fine and all other sounds do to. What is the reason I can't select a ring tone?
I tried to download the media folder and still nothing.
go to the app store and search for free ringtone programs. install one and pick a ringtone and it should let you pick it then.

Didn't work.
If I go to sound settings, click on phone ringtone, there's nothing there. I can't select anything either.

did you go to the apps store and get a ringtone app?

Yea, I got the 1 ringtone I downloaded to show, just not the others. I will try the other option. I'll post back.
sorry, I don't play much with android. Looks too much like ios to me and didn't really have any advantages for what I use the phone for everyday.
That second option did it. I read you had to put the media folder in the root. I didn't know it meant the root of android folder. Thanks for the help. It's much appreciated.
its a folder titled media that you have to put in the android folder when you start it up.
Are there any packs out there to replace the default notifications and ring tones? I just recently dumped the xperia notification as they just arent cutting it. I'm looking to have more pleasent tones for my notifications. Something along the lines of "heaven" or "happy" notification tones.
You can always just go get Zedge from the market. They have a bunch of ringtones, sounds, and some cool wallpapers. I like the ones from the Desire Z rom's.

I'll check them out. My phone never stops going with the business Im in so the nicer and more pleasant my annoying email notifications are the better

honestly I just save anything I want as a notification/ringtone into that particular folder with root explorer, you could use all of windows7 system sounds if you wanted to. I actually have a few iPhone tones that I use, hate the phone but it does have a few more soothing tones as well as louder ones. I guess it all depends on if you are rooted or not.

yeah im rooted had unrevoked downloaded before i even received my phone LOL.. I think this weekend I'm going to create some notification packs
hello, i love the work you guys do in this forum, speacially Miui which is my favorite rom of all, but one thing i have to mention is the ringtone problem. i downloaded the rc3 of Ravers rom, and tested the rigntone and it worked then he updated the rom, and i downloaded the rc3fixed version. I do not know if Rever deleted the option for the rigntone but it doesnt work. i went back to the previous rom rc3 and tested the rigntone and it doesnt work anymore, what happened?
Its a known issue the devs are working on it . Its a kernel problem.

actually thats not how it happened. i went to the setting and chosse the orange rigntone and did a test and it worked
If you were getting consistent ringtones - have you not read all the posts about ringtones not working?

Tell us it is working for you so others can try to reproduce it (i.e. help the community instead of only leaching).
You need to flash back to the version you were on when it worked and see if you can make it consistently work for you again.
And if you can - tell us exactly how you did it so others can try.
if you have ring tones open aka to select a diffrent ring tone it opens the speaker so if you get incomeing phone call it will ring

Hi, is it possible to use a custom message tone as I don't like the ones that come with the phone.
My phone is standard, i.e not rooted.
I have tried adding mp3 and .m4a files into the music and notification folders but I am having no joy.

Should be able to add mp3 to notification folder then reboot and they will appear (often at the bottom of the list).

There's tons of apps that let u download more and some to make your own with mp3s on your phone

Hi there..noob here. I need a help.
I upgrade my mate 7 from b128 to b324. Everything seems works fine.
I like the feature knuckle shot btw . but when i setting up a ringtone, its not there...its gone, then i check out notification tones. Same...nothing there. The option just silent and hangout sound.
Maybe someone can help me to copy and zipped a stock ringtones and notification tones for me. Will be appraiciated so much. And thanks before.
Ow ya....when i got FB notif, and i tap it..nothing happen. It would not open the FB app. And i don't think the pedometer works too. But thats not a big deal.
