TaoTronics Portable Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker Review (w/dual speakers?) - Galaxy S 5 Accessories

http://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics®-P...&keywords=taotronics+bluetooth#productDetails
I've tried lots of portable speakers. Mostly of the "budget" category. Never bought beats, jambox or bose but usually went with the cheaper products. I have to say I was quite surprised by this speaker however.
*Build Quality*
It has a very rugged design that looks like an "egg". Holding it hand it has a good weight to it and feels rock solid. It looks like it could take some abuse from day to day use. Not once did I find anything flimsy or loose. It comes in two colors red and black.
All it comes with is a micro-usb charge cable. Which is fine with me.
*Performance*
Just like the build quality the sound quality is top notch. I was pleasantly surprised by it. A lot of the cheaper bluetooth speakers of similar size sound thin and starts to distort when the volume is raised too high. The Taotronic has a very nice full sound with more bass than I was expecting. I don't think its been noticed but there seems to be two speakers in the unit! EDIT - conformed via Taotronics support. There is 2 speakers! One for highs and one for bass!
One at the bottom facing up for the bass and a top speaker facing down for the highs. Please check the photos. I'll contact taotronics and find out.
It has a built-in rechargeable battery. So far I've used it for about 5 hours and its still going strong on a relatively high volume.
Connecting was breeze. Each subsequent connection is easy.
I did try to use the phone mic feature and while it was good when speaking with 3ft; anything past that and its pretty useless.
There is a aux 3.5mm jack if using an older mp3 player with no bluetooth.
There is a toggle switch that has multiple uses. It can play the next song, previous song, stop and play. Holding it to the left will lower volume while holding it right will raise the volume.
*Conclusion*
The sound quality can not be beaten in the price range IMO. It will surprise you I believe. Don't expect it to outdo the larger bluetooth speakers that are 10 times the price.
Note- I have been given a sample for a fair, unbiased review.

Jam Plus HMDX HX-P240 speakers I bought for £19 each
I bought two Jam Plus HMDX HX-P240 speakers. They are AWESOME. Great amazon reviews, each can work independently, about 4h battery life, comes in a jam jar case and color coded usb charging cable, works via bluetooth and aux in, can be paired with another jam plus to make it stereo speakers, volume is LOOOUUUD, no distortion, bass is good for a tiny speakers, they come in many different colours. Bought damaged box item from ebay for 19£ each from outlet stores. Only lid of jar was dented, speakers was as new and works great.
See my review on youtube working fine with the samsung galaxy S5 www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLjM_IPckHw very pleased with my purchase of £19 each as they work great alone or in pairs. Everyone at work who listened to them was asking me where i got them and how much and several were trying to buy them within a few minutes of listening to mine. People were borrowing it to take around to show their friends at work!
Please note that the old model is P230 and looks almost the same, but it cant be used in pairs, so if you want the pairing function and the new model is louder, then be careful which version you buy.

Bluetooth Stereo headset

I was thinking about getting Bluetooth Stereo headset for my Fuze
Plantronics Voyager 855 is the headset I was thinking about.
Anyone have any troubles with this or even have it?
Thanks
I cant answer anything about that one, but I can tell you I love my Motorolla S9 for headphones, though I rarely use it for calls. I also have a BT8010 which is a fantastic headset, but when adding the stereo bud it feels wierd because you've got what feels like two headsets on instead of headphones.
I use the Motorola S705. I like it because I can use my own headphones. It also has FM radio, but we don't need that!
I have the 855 and have been using it with my Samsung P2 mp3 player and now my Fuze for quite awhile now. The battery life is pretty good, i've used it to snowboard in tahoe in cold temps and under those conditions i get about about 6 hours of continuous play time.
The audio quality is very good provided you can keep it in your ear. Depending on the shape / size of your ear the earhook may not be as effective as it should be, and the weight of the earpiece plus the fact that the earbuds are round instead of an ergonomic design means that its bound to try to point down then ultimately fall out of your ears.
The stereo hook fits in the headset part well, and works both ways fine as advertised. A word of caution though, when you're done listening, be sure to take the hook back out before putting it in your pocket or the pouch. The earhook's clip is pretty thin and i have snapped it clean off before while it was in my pocket, prompting a 15 dollar replacement stereo earhook.
The call quality though leaves a bit to be desired. People on the other end can hear background noise from my end, and i can hear my surroundings trough the earbuds pretty well also. I don't use it often for calls, but when I do it works alright or short calls. I actually keep a jawbone 2 in my car in case i expect to be on a long call.
Overall, aside from the fitment issues for me personally, i'm very satisfied with the 855. However if you think you may be i the market for a headphone style as opposed to the earbud style, I've heard good reviews for the Motorokr S305's, and i'm gonna pick up a pair soon to try them out as earbud headphones are sometimes really finicky about your ear in terms of fitment.

Mpow FreeGo Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 Headset Review + Pics

Mpow FreeGo
Over the course of the years I’ve tried many, many Bluetooth headsets and VERY few lasted more than a few days of use. A lot had poor performance, extremely uncomfortable or both.
I travel a lot and sometimes it’s just cumbersome having to hold the phone when talking and trying to multitask. So I gave the FreeGO a try and I’m glad I did.
Performance/Build Quality
When first looking at the unit; I was worried it was going to be too heavy with the size but I was pleasantly surprised when picking it up. It’s a lot lighter than I expected. Even though it was light weight it didn’t feel cheap in the slightly. Nothing flexed, or creaked to the point where I was worried about it falling apart.
The unit itself has a two toned looked to it. A shiny glossy part and matte soft rubber part. The soft rubber part is what actually is in contact with your ear. This makes it extremely comfortable to wear. So comfortable that I’d forget I had it on to be honest. The silicone ear tip that creates a “seal” for sound doesn’t really create a seal as the tip is oddly “flat” shaped. It’s not like the tips on earphones/earbuds where you would jam them in your ear canal. It simply hovers over the opening. This worried me at first that calls or sounds would be difficult to hear. Once again it surprised me. Calls still came in crystal clear, music sounded good and never missed a notification sound. I think the odd shape and not shoving them in the ear canal is what makes the headset so comfortable.
Can be used on either ear. The earpiece has a 180 Degree Flip-boom arm for both left or right ear. Which is really convenient depending which ear you want to use it on.
The unit has 3 buttons: Volume up, volume down and answer call. All were easy to access when worn and always responsive. Pairing it to my phone or tablet was a cinch and took no longer than 2 minutes for initial pairing and subsequent pairings took seconds.
Sound quality was just amazing. Never did I feel like it wasn’t clear. The mic also performed superbly. The person on the line never had a problem hearing me or asked me to speak louder. What else can you ask for?
Last; it stayed in place. I’m sure everyone had that headset that was just impossible to keep in place and you ended adjusting it all the time. Not this one; I had it on the ENTIRE day and not once did I have to adjust it.
Packaging
It comes in a simple box. Has 3 different ear tips, a small faux leather pouch and a micro usb cable (flat cable which is a nice touch). The micro usb cable is of decent quality which is a plus in my book. It did not come with a wall plug though. So either use your phones or plug it into your computer to charge it.
Conclusion
It’s a no brainer for me if you’re looking for a great value Bluetooth headset. Good performance, good price and comfortable. I’d recommend it to anyone.
Nice review, but what do you use this for?
I have a pair of wireless Jaybird bluebuds I wear for running/working out, and flip them over for conference calls.

I got the jaybird freedom, it wasn't cheap, but it was worth the price. The fit is good, sound is good too, battery lasts long, and sweatproof. Perfect for workout.
Only letdown that it is not good for phonecalls, they said my voice was very quiet when I used the jaybird freedom for phonecalls.
Im looking to buy a bluetooth headset for phonecalls, hope Mpow FreeGo will be good. Though i have the experience, when I am in a noisy enviroment, if I use a one-ear headset, I can't hear the other person on the phone. Not because the headset is not good, but because my other ear is exosed to the noisy enviroment. I guess that wouldn't be a problem for a 2-ear headset.
Good review, but i don't think it is worth buying, because the design and the specifications, the tronfy iwork mini 4.0 is better than this one, only $16.99, but longer battery life and more different earbuds.
Also has 15% Coupon now: GBJC7XNK
I own the Mpow also. Funny I thought I had lost my Mpow and pulled out 3 of older brands I've tried but didnt like. After a week with the older one, I quickly ordered 2 new Mpow's then found the missing Mpow in the trunk of my car LOL. I'm a big fan of the Mpow FreeGo

What portable speaker should I pick? (Sorry if I posted in wrong section)

So, I want to have a portable speaker, but what is the best speaker to buy up to 100€(euros)(can't say price in dollars). I was watching a Samsung Level Box Mini, but I dunno.... maybe in the market are better speakers...
What do I need from speaker: Bluetooth connectivity, Rechargeable battery, LOUDNESS (very loud speakers). Battery life isn't that interesting, but I want it up to 5hrs.
Maybe someone has or had experience with Samsung Level Box Mini? Or had an another speaker that would be loud and from normal company (like Samsung, Philips, Beats by Dre,etc)?
I bought a small used speaker from a shop near me
its loud as hell even though its small and has no name on it :v but its working on my s5 mini
i bought it for 8$
Nice catch!
So, no opinions or recommendations?
Bose Soundlink Mini is by far the best portable Bluetooth box on the market right now!
Many dislike Bose for their poor price/quality ratio - but with this box they just destroyed everything. 10 of 10 would buy again only to have two of them.
But is there any selling this speaker in about 100€ range?
What about picking this speaker in used condition(because it's less price-y)?
I have my bose speaker for over 2 years now. The speaker only looks slightly used, due to the extremly stable case. When you lift it, you will know the reason.
The battery is still like it was on the first day (about 5-8 hrs playtime on high volume and bt connection).
I only encountered some connection problems, when you connect too many devices to speaker - but that can be fixed easily by pressing the BT button for 5 sec for deleting the connected device history.
Trust me, with this speaker you cant do anything wrong. with this speaker you will be the king of portable soundspeakers... And no, the speaker should cost about 150€ (i bought mine for 250€ though..)
I bought these http://www.pure.com/wireless-speakers/jongo-s3x/graphite for 80$, great quality overall, wifi and bluetooth connection + AUX at the back + built-in battery.
I have a Libratone Zipp Mini, the sound is incredible, beter than my bose soundlink, andere it's cheaper, it has wifi, bleutooth aptx, aux, it has an own app where I can change the sound, like outdoor or tabel or floor. I can also change the sound Dynamics it processes. It has more than 60 watts, really loud, with a good sound mod on your phone it goes even louder without distortion because of the 2 built in amplifiers, 360 degree sound, bass is nice but not so hard bass, I like that. Battery is 5-7 hours. I picked it up at the Apple premium resellers Calles "Switch" in belgium for 250 euro's, but I think it's cheaper now. Yeah not your price range bit as an musician Igove some advice: you can better use your money for a more pricey but much better speaker with good sound. I listen Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Rory Gallagher, Jeff Buckley, John Frusciante but also electronic music, it just sounds so good. Greets Beau (very long post btw hehe )
Anker Sound Core
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-SoundCore-Playtime-Bluetooth-Portable/dp/B016XTADG2
Can't say anything about those speakers previously mentioned but without a shadow of a doubt the Anker Sound Core is the best for battery life, which if you think about it is the only reason you are getting a portable speaker. If people make the argument about better sound, that is not relevant because the soundcore doesn't sacrifice sound quality at the price of battery life. I've got the first generation Anker Sound core sitting in front of me right now, I got it in October of 2018, it's now the 16th of April 2019 and I can recall charging it possibly 3 times?
I have used it for some outdoor things at the beach over summer (southern hemisphere) and Christmas, charged it over that period. Used it on and off at medium to high volumes, certainly has a battery life that far exceeds any other device I have owned. It will outlast pretty much any thing else, while still sounding good, having no distortion that I can hear at max volume, being small enough to put in your jacket pocket.
To put it in better terms, unless you leave it running with music on it, you can be fairly sure that when you do have to charge it you won't remember the last time you charged it. That's how long it lasts. Makes sense too because anker makes batteries primarily, so that technology is ported over to their speakers. All batteries don't seem to be equal. Other portable speakers are made by speaker companies who try their hand at battery manufacturing, whereas Anker is a battery company which tried it's hand at portable speaker making. That's the only reason I can see for such a good product. Because of this, I'd say that the superior battery know how of the companys product allows the speakers in the portable speaker to be better arranged electronically than competitors speakers who have less thorough knowledge of batteries.
All I can say is that I was impressed by it, and so were other people online.

Review: MPow Seashell Bluetooth Headphones

Couple dollars off with 5BGLQBOE
Mod Edit: Selling site link removed
Pros
long battery life.
Great Sound Quality.
Extra pieces
Cons
maybe the color? i would like other options
Included:
1. Box
2. Ear pieces (fitting for your ear/ customization)
3. User Manual
4. Charging Cable (MicroUSB to USB)
5. MPow Seashell Earbuds
I have always been interested in the "cheap bluetooth headphone market" because i was curious as to how good a pair of $20 bluetooth headphones could be. My answer is, they're GREAT! These headphones from MPOW far exceed my expectations. As a bluetooth earbud user, these earbuds fits in my ear very comfortably with the customization ear pieces. The multifunction button is very sleek and works very well, it controls the volume, bluetooth and power. Although it may seem that the earbud itself is big, it actually is very comfortable when you put it in your ear. It will fit very naturally given the good design of the earbud. This earbud is overall a very good pair of bluetooth earbuds. The sound quality is absolutely amazing albeit there could be more bass, but for the price you cannot beat these. I have not used them at the gym yet so i cannot comment on the waterproofing, but i'm sure it work without a hitch. the battery life has been great so far, with me listening to them for a couple hours out of the box without charging!
If anyone is on the fence, do yourself a favor and try these!
I received these headphones from MPOW in exchange for an unbiased review.

I'm thinking of ordering 2 for Sister/BIL. Possibly 3 if I decide to replace them with my wired Urbanista Rio which I'm more than satisfied with them.
From the reviews I read mostly are positive especially battery wise and I prefer the controls on the cord instead on the earbuds like their Swift model.
I'm trying to decide between the MPOW Seashell and the Wolverine atm.
yeah having the controls on the cord is much better than when they have them on the headphones themselves.
i am not sure what is different between the seashell and the wolverine
also, i updated my review with a coupon code for a couple bucks off

Airpods alternative?

Hello,
long time iPhone user here, last year i have been using the Airpods with my XS MAX that i sold.
I am looking for some "airpods equivelant" for my Samsung device (i got S10 and Note 10+)...i have unsuccesfully tried the Samsung Galaxy Buds, i am very dissapointed because the call quality which is the most important thing to me is not good at all, cant even compare it to the airpods...
So, what bluetooth would you recommend for everyday use, with good call quality so i can talk ?? I wouldn't like something like the old style bluetooth like Plantronics etc, i am looking for something fresh like Airpods, Galaxy Buds etc style
Airpods
You have Jabra. They have goods reviews.
From my experience, all bluetooth headsets have horrible call quality, including the Airpods. In a quiet place any would work fine, but once you go in public, it becomes really bad.
I always carry both wired and wireless headsets at the same time, just in case.
Huawei just released their Airpod clones. You could try one of those; otherwise Jabra's lineup are the best you're going to get without going into $250+ range.
Alternatively, you can just get Airpods. Even on Android, they have superior call quality, and there's plenty of apps on the Play Store that emulate the functionality it has on the iPhone or that the Galaxy Buds have on Samsung devices.
I use Cambridge Audio Melomamia 1's
Superb battery life and more subtle in the ears, I love them.

One minor annoyance about the Melomania 1 is the microUSB charging port on the case.
An alternative to consider is the Creative Outlier Air TWS. IMO, it performs better than the reviews - both from the sonic aspects (details and presence), connectivity and price point, not to mention it's USB-C and rated for 10-hr per charge (plus 20 from the case). When it comes to sound quality and connectivity, they are my favorites. I have yet to experience any connection drop in various environment with plenty of radio-noise. The button is not as convenient as others, and I had to paint the LED-ring with flat black model paint to conceal the annoying pulsating blue light when there is no active sound source, even if BT is connected.
Sony wf-1000xm3. Best in class.
Xiaomi Mi Airdots, 30$ (so cheap) and they sound really good even in calls
I bought just now an Edifier TWS-1 ~ $30 from Ali, with ship from Spain. I am satisfied with it, 8-9 hrs battery and case can charge them 3-4 times, sum 34 hrs. It has built-in mic, I think that is crap, but sound drivers are OK. I recommend it.
I ordered the Liberty 2 Pro from Soundcore. I'll let you know if they are any good.
I vote on Xiaomi Mi Airdots too, cheap and awesome sound.

THIS!
Any wireless bud can only put its microphone as close to your mouth as your ear is. In a perfectly quiet setting, this is fine, as even several inches from your mouth, the signal to noise ratio will be high, and others can likely hear you well. For the galaxy buds, they have a second mic inside the bud (but outside your sealed canal. That isn't a very good place to collect sound from your voice, but is better than having a ton of background noise covering up your talking. So they switch to the inside mic whenever the outside mic measures a lot of noise. They just do some equalization on that signal to remove most of the spectrum outside of your primary voice frequencies (especially for intelligibility). It will sound bad (robot-like), but at least the other side will likely be able to make out your words.
If you want a decent headset for calls, you need to get the mic on a boom fairly close to your mouth. That's why you see so many of the wired headset folks holding the mic close to their mouth when speaking. I too keep a wired headset with a boom just for calls. Not needed if I have my buds in and I am in a quiet room, but pretty much necessary any other time.
Airpods works fine with Android. I'm using an app called MaterialPods to check battery status etc.
Creative Outlier Air. A little pricey, but they have great battery life and their sound quality is well above their price range. I bought them for my daughter and I will buy them for myself too.

I googled them and.. I mean... They might sound good, but it would be nice if they won't look like buttplugs for your ears
OP, why not just use Airpods? They work great on Android devices, you still get the same decent AAC audio and the fit and design clearly works for you. I have some of the Melomania as well, but I use Airpods when I'm out and about.
Creative Outlier Air.
Great sound quality, highest battery endurance and very good for talking. No dropouts or connectivity problems in general with my Galaxy S10.
The buttons could have been better, but it's just a minor annoyance.
