Rooting affects - Samsung Galaxy Core

Hi I'm new here.I wanted to know if I root my Galaxy core will it change my kernel or baseband version or will make any other changes.I have seen some people complaining that rooting changes the kernel of their device. So i want to know if that's true or not

I am not an expert but i think no.
What you are talking is propable "bootloader unlock"

Nope, use framaroot... It is safe way to root and you can unroot and reroot infinite times.
You will need custom kernel to change it...

The only possible explanation I can think of is those users use apps to install custom kernels and etc. If you just root your device, nothing will change except for the fact that now, you can give apps root permissions to edit the system of your phone. If you just try to be careful of what apps you try after rooting, you won't have those problems. One of the apps you should be careful of is "rom manager". You should do some research before you try root apps.

Question about custom Rom

Hello Guys
I have a Samsung S5830i phone with Gingerbread.XXLI1. I have rooted the phone successfully. I want to installed RazerDroid Rom. The link is as follows :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816611. It says that it can be installed from Stock Rom. Is XXLI1 Stock Rom???
Please advise.
Hello girish78,
as far as I know is this the latest Stock Firmware.
I'm new to this but if I'm not mistaken, it depends on the baseband version the rom is based on. Even though yours XXLI1 and its stock, i think there are many more with stock roms for your phone with different baseband versions. I think you should try to ask the developer of the rom to avoid any problems.
Sorry if this wasnt helpful.

Look in forums under galaxy ace. You may find help more specific to your device.

Is your cwm fully working? Check if it can back up and restore, back up your rom then restore it. If it works then i think it will be ok to install the rom because you have a back up incase anything goes wrong. Remember, there are still risks involved. I went to the link and done some reading, theres no baseband info specified. Goodluck buddy:thumbup:

Rafael Baugis Kernel Update
Hi All
I want to update the kernel and the process mentions me to install boot.img, then install Rom and then install the module. Check this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818830
Cannot I just install the module to update the kernel????
Please advise.
Its generally a good idea to follow the instructions given by the developer it might work for you if you try it your way but it would really suck if it doesnt. follow the given instructions rather:thumbup:

rooting is rooting, it doesn't have anything to do with recovery it is just giving you superuser permisions after you instlall SU and busybox from PlayStore , after root you will be able to install a custom recovery and after that you can install custom roms/kernels

[Q] Changing baseband version of stock ROM

HI GUYs, it's me again.
Now we know we have Germany android 4.2.2 official
but the baseband version isn't our own country's
but i still wanna flash it to my phone without losing warranty
so..
is it possible if any developers change the baseband version of this stock ROM, without rooting or cwm and without further modification? like, only change the baseband version of the ROM and then make it look like my own country's ROM (the samsung guy only checks your root state and baseband version if i'm right) so if any awesome developer would make it possible, then it's beneficial to everyone who wanna flash the ROM, but don't wanna lose warranty)
so...
is it able to:
1) Change the baseband version without bricking or further modifying?
thanks
I think its possible but its hard stuff cause u have to change the radio.
And if u not 100% sure what u doing u will brick ur phone.

thanks i dunno why i always think too much about failing the flashing process ==" though i successfully used odin 5 times
wish me good luck, im always very nervous about odin
Look at this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658809
I don't know if it is a problem to flash a baseband from a 4.1.2 rom to 4.2.2??
But I think you lost your warrenty because it is a modification. Normaly there is no 4.2.2 rom for your country Samsung know your provider knows, so when you have a problem with the device an send it to repair, people know that there isnt't a 4.2.2 rom available but you have - maybe they don't accept the warrenty. So wait for 4.2.2 or have fun!
I w8 CyanoGenmod... now is in beta (If u have time try it)... U can flash 4.2.2 Deoxed is very cool FAST! (Flash is easy with odion no risk )

Flashing anything gives goes up and you have that bad fear that slows your heartbeat that it will fail or screw up. My phone memory is getting full and needs air to breath. Im baldly waiting for 4.2.2 to come for the None NFC version.
I'll load it with games then

Is rooting safe?

I have rooted all of my Android phones and I'm worried about it. I just don't want my phone to be useless eventually. Is it safe to be rooted? Like will being rooted cause my phone to become useless?

Why would it be useless? The big concerns are making sure you perform root correctly, making sure you get updates here vs. expecting the OTA on a rooted phone, and warranty-related issues (warrany is void once rooted, which is easily detected). Otherwise, you end up with more capability, not less. Shouldn't be a problem...
So rooting phones in the future shouldn't cause a bricked phone?

it should not unless you maybe flash a new app that requires root like flashing fonts have a chance of possible bricks, but if you let them sit at the current rom they are on and becareful with what you download and use you should be fine so i have bricked twice out of my 16+ devices and they are from Flashing the wrong rom.

Before you mess with your device too much, make sure you are comfortable flashing the stock firmware. Some OEMs have a special tool for this or you might have to use something like fastboot. Once you have root, you will probably want to install a custom recovery. Make sure you know how to create and restore a nandroid back up. Most problems can be fixed by restoring a back up and most of the others can be fixed by reflashing the stock firmware.

Custom Recoveries (such as CWM and TWP) can't be installed because of Virgin Mobile locking the bootloader. Sorry :/
I have rooted them which really is all I wanted to do. I just wanted that annoying boot animation off
