INTRODUCTION
Secrecy is where you can safely put your files without worrying that others will see it... They just can't.
I am starting this project since I have tried a number of Apps for secure file storage, while not finding one that best suits my expectations:
- some, like Vaulty and Hide it pro, do not store videos securely and just stores the raw file
- most only support storing pictures and videos. I occasionally want to store word documents but can't find a way.
- some produced by major software companies are simply bloated and litters temp files everywhere... That's just as insecure as not using them.
I am aiming to produce an all-rounded one that maximizes security but still ensuring ease of use and quick encryption time.
(Tailor-made for keeping your *precious* photos(or files) from your geeky dad/mom/friends/whoever-they-are's prying eyes.)

### Welcome to Secrecy.
I believe you come from XDA or Play Store, and you are interested in helping out in our project. As you may know, I started this project off with myself, but when it gains popularity, it seems that I cannot do everything on my own. Thus help is needed badly to breath new air into this project.
### Wait, I'm not professional.
Frankly, I'm not professional too. I'm just, as you think of it, a kid with thoughts. I'm looking for all kinds of support, and you may find possible roles in the latter section.
To put it simply, no one is unfit to contribute. From newbie to experienced, everyone is welcome!
### What can I do?
At the moment, I can think of the followings:
* Translators
* Quality Assurance (Testers)
* Collaborator (Code Contributor)
* Marketing advisor
* Design and Promotion
... You name it!
### What can I make out of it?
I don't work for money. It is not possible to repay you with money. However as a contributor, you could get a life-time worth of donation package. You may message me when you are a member and I'll add you to the list.
It is practically the Google Play's testers list, that when you try to purchase the donation package, Google Play does not charge you.
### I'm in! / I wanna know more!
Please contact me at [email protected] and specify the followings:
1. Your Github username (If you don't know, here's it: https://github.com)
2. Your preferred role, if any
You could also migrate directly to https://github.com/SecrecySupportTeam and get started with the source code!

Hi,
Does your app create 'containers' like EDS on Android or Truecrypt?

Nope, it simply:
1. Finds the file
2. Copy it to "SECRECYFILES"
3. Encrypts it
4. Done!
Of course truecrypt as it name suggests, is the best crypto in the world, yet I would consider it as an over-kill solution in this problem.
Besides using them depends on deep hardware/root functions and may be incompatible for a number of devices.

Awesome :good:
Also, How was the app icon done? I see alot of icons like that and thought it's a program or somewhat

Off topic:
What is that app in your activity center? Is that for adjusting the display brightness?

suggestion: An option to hide the app from the drawer, or atleast, change the app name to something less suggestive? An app named 'secrecy' would only indicate that I have something in my phone which has been hidden.

Yea it's lux auto brightness. I've tried a number of apps to automatically adjust screen brightness but this one, so far, is the best.

Great app and also great work ..! :0 ...
Looks like someone got naughty and created this app....lol

Geat work Doplgangr! By far the best app of it's kind!
Have you ever considered open sourcing your code? Maybe to celebrate a beta milestone? :victory:

Is the source available?
This app (screenshots) looks great. Thanks for that enthusiasm and work!
Would you consider to make the source code available for that app, please?
Q: Why?
A: Some people (me too) havn't a google account and can't get apps from google play. It would be awesome to see your app in open source stores like F-Droid or somethin'. And IMHO people could trust more in your <security> app, if they have the possibility to see what it's doing, (by parsing the source). And last but not least, also some other developers could help to make that app more stable as it's already seems to be :highfive:
Thanks in advance for any response.

Nice one! I'm trying to find a nice app like this for a long time. If one could move the vaults to USB OTG storage that would be awesome!

It is really surprising to find myself on the Portal!
First, I have to thank WILL VERDUZCO for such a generous introduction even though this app is still far from polished state.
I am not disclosing the source since it is still a 7-days old project, everything is messy with TODOs everywhere and e.printstacktrace() (FYI. it is a line of code that causes apps to crash when it panicks) on almost every file you could possibly find. Thus when the project comes to maturity the source will be on github. As for security caveat, I am using encryption libraries from java, so if you trust java you can trust the app (LOL).

[App] URL Ripper - Expand web links, stay safe from malicious websites

Hello!
I first released this app on XDA when I started developing android apps and received some really helpful inputs from community. Now, after a gap of almost 3 years, I am reviving this app with a new vision in mind! It has been written again from scratch.
To ensure existing features don't break (and flex some coding muscles), I have kept the features almost the same and rather focused on UI (material design), performance boost, etc.
{

"lightbox_share": "Share",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
In terms of features, as of now the app allows you to:
1. Shorten links using Goo.gl (more will be added soon)
2. "Always On" mode to check all URL's you access (from outside the web browser).
3. Extract (or decrypt) short URL's.
Tip: To turn on "Always On" mode select URL Ripper as your default URL manager (the links will still open in web browser of your choice). This basically allows the app to scan URL's you are visiting from outside the web browser. You can also see the extracted/decrypted link in a dialog box (under Settings)!
Currently URL Ripper supports almost all the link shortening services including popular ones like Goo.gl, Bit.ly, Is.gd, Ow.ly, Tinyurl, Y.ahoo.it, YouTube, etc. Ad-based services like adfly aren't supported.
Link to Play Store - URL Ripper (Google Play Store)
Direct Download Link (Apk - Same as store version) - Version 3.0
I would appreciate if XDA community could again chip in and share their feedback
Thanks in advance!

Mostly it is just an android wrapper for longurl.org. Demand wasn't quite there and I didn't get any real feedback, so I kinda stopped caring for it. There is one bug I wanted to fix, but I didn't get around to do it yet.

Yeah, saw that in app description. I have a different variation planned though. More of a "complete" solution with caching, sharing, etc. But then again, all of it depends on how well is it accepted and used. Also, just a thought, I didn't want to rely on a single service for link expansion. The service dies and app dies, I don't want this to happen P.S: No pun intended. Just my 2 cents.
On a side note, I do like the url catching mechanism from other application

I absolutely agree. It was just a matter of comfort for me. I didn't want to write queries for all those shortening services API. Especially since some of the smaller ones might not even have an API. Or are you making the request and checking where the return url is leading?
Sharing was a feature I had in mind as well, but I didn't get to it.
If you find something you like, feel free to use it and if you think the source code might help, I will gladly send it to you / share the repo.

You're right. The less popular one's don't have an api or even if they do, the response time is wayward. As of now reliance is on api but I have seen header request works equally well.

That, and ads need network access as well.
Make a paid version then. Im tired of every app requesting full network access. Its completely unnecessary. At what point did we as a community accept this as the norm?
I would rather you release a free version with less functionality then a free version with ads that requires full internet access. If the app turns out to be usefull then charge a buck or two and people will gladly pay, myself included.

It is simple, as much you want to believe people can make money on android without ads, you are mistaken. Regardless of how well the app is, people are still not going to pay for it. If you find my app doing something it shouldn't, then report it. Thank you for at least looking at the app. I am sorry that it just for you. Is there anything else I could do to appease without removing the ads? There are only two ways to make money on android, people paying for them, and people using ads. Sadly, more money is still made on ads and not enough is made in paid versions. My app doesn't use the internet unless its the free version for ads. I can't thank you enough for the response. Have a great day.
I will think about what you have suggested and maybe I will remove ads and add in more pro functions. Anything you have in mind that would make this better then?

Hi all friends on XDA forum,
After released Recent - Free Manager, we consider what can we do to make a high-efficiency file manager and application manager for Android.
With deep analysis to file types on mobile device, and simulations to daily use at user side, we considered the following five categories can cover most files which need to be managed on mobile devices, there are:
Music
Picture
Video
Documents
Applications
The five types of files above can represent the most files you may manage on a mobile devices.
Music, video, pictures are for your beautiful life, documents may be for work/learning, and applications help you to enjoy the new smart way in work and life.
So we build a new way, a more smarter way to manage files on mobile devices, and invite you to join our beta test:

we consider ringtones should also be one part to manage in music files, since people always prefer special ringtones to mark difference beyond others. so we list ringtones in the music file.

dark theme? will be wild acceptable?
multi-language support is a must, but we need make the product perfect enough at first.
This is a file browser I've been looking for, you've made something to replace ES for myself. It's UI is nice, easy on the eyes, and attractive. A dark theme would be nice as stated, but also a theme that fits the new standard 4.4+ look. Even just white accents could make it "pop" out more. Feature wise, it's nice, it's easy to get around. I haven't seen anything yet, but R/W variable support is a plus. Having two file browsers is annoying at times so an integrated service with that in would be icing on the cake. Another idea is to perhaps insert another tab, a "shortcut" to widely changed files such as the hosts, build.prop files, and etc..
I see a large amount of potential in this app and am excited to see it grow.
Oops, the "docs" folder generally does just this, but maybe the idea could be fleshed out.

Many thanks for your sharing.
Right now, we can only put all time on dev the application follow the design of Android 4.4, so support to Slimbased roms may be delay since we are really a small team in startup stage.
I also noticed that "dark theme" has been mentioned twice, so I wonder if you can share me your idea to the theme?
Many thanks.

Many thanks for the good comments and encourage. We have lots to do to make Tomi File Manager perfect enough before list on Play Store.
Here I have some questions below:
What will you do with music files on your phone/tablet?
How do you browse music file, via file manager application, or media player like MXplayer?
Many thanks again.
Is there a way to get root access? Thanks
Envoyé de mon Moto G en utilisant Tapatalk
Nice work so far. Here are few suggestions.
1. Cloud support (Dropbox, google drive and such) (I know it will take a while but eventually you will need to have it )
2. Fav folder/files. (Shortcuts):- So on the left hand side shortcuts, in the the middle storage breakdown, and on the right side Music, Picture, Videos, Docs, Apps etc.
3. Blacklist...I don't want all of my pictures showing up under pictures tab. So option for hiding a certain folder/ a certain picture file would be nice.
The ability to edit tags may prove useful regarding music files.
An in-app text editor is another idea.

There are also other members methiond the root access, but here I still have some questions to this feature:
1. as I know, only rooted device can obtain this feature, so I wonder if it were a strong needs in your experience?
2. with root access, how about your purpose in operations to files? copy? delete? or some else?

Many thanks for your great suggestions.
1. about support to cloud storage, I noticed lots of file manager applications have included this feature, do you think if it were a must have feature to all file manager?
2. about shortcut to fav folders, I wonder if you can share a picture to show layout in your description, so I can know more.
3. add blacklist to exclude some folder? it really sounds great. Could you share me why you have this idea in mind?
Many thanks and expect your valuable sharing.

[APP][4.+] Unclouded - Explore, Analyse and clean your cloud storage

Unclouded is a tool to help you analyse and clean your cloud storage.
Everyday you use your cloud storage accounts like Dropbox and Google Drive, and end up not knowing how they got so full, unorganised and cluttered.
Unclouded is here to help you understand which files are using most of your storage, which type of files and when.
Take a look at the screen shots and you will get the idea.
I would love to get your feedback, to help me improve the app as much as possible!

New beta update:
1. Now you can see how much space each Google service is using in your Google Drive account
2. Fixed some upload and move issues for Dropbox
Interesting - I just got notice that my promotional Dropbox space is expiring, so I will put this to the test.

I won't add support for those any time soon.. It's not that I don't want to. It's because of the API's.

Why is it overpriced?
Yes, but Unclouded needs powerful API's that aren't available in many Cloud Services.
Damn, I though I could get rid of the obnoxious auto backup album.
Any plan on adding this?
I've bought the premium anyway. Great app.

It's not overpriced because:
1 - the app is fully working
2 - functionality that is inexistent in any other app up to this day
3 - one of the best developers with deep understanding of Android and programming in general
4 - great design
5 - costs less than a bloody coffee and it's yours forever. You buy a coffee and 1m later it's gone
6 - I'm vouching for it and if that counts for something I'm one of the most respected developers in this forum
Just get it, it's worth it. I saved like 2GB of trash from my Dropbox from stuff I didn't even know I had.
It's not overpriced at all! It's a great app with a very nice UI,i like it. Bought the full version after few seconds of use. It allowed me to batch downloading files which is not supported with official dropbox client(actually there is no batch option in the app to download files but you can select multiple files, click on share and they will be saved on download folder).Keep up the good work!

[APP][Security] SRT Vault: Testers Wanted!

Hey everyone,
my name is Marc and my partner and I developed a security app that we released recently to Google Play. [1]
We called it SRT Vault and it makes use of Android’s work profiles to create a second manageable and secure environment and allows you to install arbitrary apps in this secure profile. This environment gives users at least the possibility to have a second layer of data protection on their phone.
Apps inside and outside are not able to freely communicate with each other. But that’s not all. We want our users to be able to not only to make their data only available to certain apps. We want to give them the power to make this information only available to certain people even thought others might be able to access their phones.
Like a vault inside a bank or a laboratory, our app is a place to store the most precious data or the most dangerous. Even the presence of our application and its app icon could be an information leak. Therefore we created the necessary means to hide both away.
It's in an early access phase and we would love your insights, feedback and help with it. If you want to, we'd want you to test the hell out of this app.
Please feel free to ask any question and suguest anything that comes to you mind.
TL;DR
We created an app to protect your data from other apps and people that might access your phone and we would love the feedback of the community.

New Version - WHAT’S NEW
Manage in the settings if bluetooth devices can read the contacts in your Vault
Main Features:
Data separation: Create a secure and protected environment on your device.
Install new applications into the SRT Vault.
Freeze: Deactivate and reactivate applications in the SRT Vault so that they disappear completely.
Hide the SRT Vault in the app list so that it is no longer visible.
You should post this app on Samsung forums. People searching safe folder alternative. Because if we root our samsung phones, safe folder function become useless. Great work m8. Continue like that...

Thanks

You can just download it, like any other app from Google Play [1].
As soon as the features are tested by us and up to our standards, we will release an update there!
Or do you have alpha testing of our unreleased features in mind?

Sorry for the late reply to your post. I actually had to discuss this.
As long as work profiles are working on the android build you are using on your rooted device, you can use the SRT Vault as an alternative.
We are already providing similar functionalities and we are going to expand on them soon!
However, we encountered some Samsung (Android) builds that prevent work profiles from being created on rooted devices.
Have you tried it out? Any suggestions where whe should post our app?
Btw guys. Thank you for your feedback so far!
We want to create an application that gives you as much control over your data as possible. And we couldn't do it without your feedback.
So if you have any suggestions, questions or feedback don't be hesitant. Ask and/or propose whatever you like! That's what we're here for!

Major Update coming next week (#FileTransfer, #DarkMode), stay tuned!
We have a lot of planned features (e. g. #EasyContactTransfer), but we want to give you the opportunity to decide one feature that should come next.
We want to know which of the following two features you want:
a.) Opening the hidden SRT Vault (without icon) by calling a secret number.
b.) Taking a mugshot of an intruder failing to unlock your vault.
As always if you come up with another feature you would like us to realize, let us now in the comments.

[Update] SRT Vault
We are happy to announce our new update, covering two highly anticipated features.
What's New?
- File-transfer: you can transfer files between the Vault (work profile) storage and the normal file storage.
- Vault-Lock: lock your SRT Vault app with a Pin or Fingerprint.
- Dark/Light Mode: in the settings you can activate the dark mode or tie the mode to the system configuration.
When will it be available?
- Right now, if it is not already queued in your automatic update list, you can trigger the update manually in the Play store

So far we recieved a lot of feedback (most of it via mail) and the current favourite by a small margin is:
a.) Opening the hidden SRT Vault (without icon) by calling a secret number.
So if you'd prefer the mugshot feature write us! If you wanna make sure that the hide/opening functionality stays in development write us as well.
Thanks to all of you who participated so far! We hope you enjoy our app and that you are as excited about our upcoming features as we are.

Thanks for hinting this! We were able to find a solution for this corner case and with the next update, the SRT Vault will be able to install split apks.
Does this app make use of Android's Work Profile? How does this compare to apps like Island or Shelter?
