I have a very weird problem with my n8000 and roms like omnirom and CM roms
I cant play videos on e any website
and i cant play videos on google plus - youtube - facebook apps either
stock rom runs fine without this problem , it happens only with roms like omni and cynagon (kitkat)
one other weird thing , i used to have omnirom and it was working fine but after i switched to other roms and had this problem i tried to reinstall it again and found that the problem existed with it . im sure its the same rom and the same file on my card .
anyone can help ?
I'm getting the same problem. No video on you tube app, an sites or BBC iPlayer. I'm using CyanogenMod 10.2 201400323, tried previous version and different ROM (eg pacman) with same problem.
I actually have a gt-n8010, but ROMs are for gt-n8013, but claim to work - is this likely to be a cause.
Please help, everything else appears fine and the ROM looks to be very nice.

I've got the same problem too...
For me, This problemas is general for all video stream service... Netflix, YouTube, videos on brownsers and others in all custom ROMs. But is only for tablets with new bootloader (4.4.2 official firmware)... anybody have this problem and dont flash 4.4.2 official bootloader (or official firmware)?
I briefly tried omni... I didn't have any issues with video play back. Netflix, flash player with dolphin browser, YouTube all tested working fine on 4.1.2 boot loader..

Did you by any chance used an app named freedom?
7f you uninstall it while being emabled without tirnimg it off, brick s video streaming

This Downgrade method dont change the bootloader and dont solve the problem... :crying:

Has anyone found the solution to this problem Yet? In using Pacman rom on a note 3 n9005.
Its fixed in the newer versions of omni rom
they added the codecs in the newer versions of omni rom and every thing seems to work fine for me now .
Wondering if anyone could help me?. I was running stock 4.4.2 on my N8010 and installed sidesync to use with me S4. It all worked good enough but, I have now installed a custom rom and now sidesync will not work. I presume it's because the rom is deodexed so wondered if deodexing the sidesync apk would make it work?. Does anyone think deodexing it would make it work?.
Would anybody be able to deodex it for me, as I do not know how to...

Same here. I tried it on V2 and it worked perfectly with the Note 3 (don't have touchwiz on my S4). Gonna try it tommorrow with the V5.5 and with the S4 but I don't expect any problems since it doesnt fc.

I have phoenix rom on my s4 and it worked fine with stock 4.4. on my tablet
Got it sorted
I was just about to flash 4.4.2 stock rom back to my tablet as I really wanted sidesync working, but thought just in case is my phone........
So I downloaded sidesync to my 2014 note 10.1 (totally stock, never been played with) and my phone wouldn't connect. I wiped my phone and reinstalled the rom and sidesync works.

I have N8000 and note 3 and tried what you asked. I can dial a number but after it connects the sidesync on tablet went on standby and a message pops up on the tablet written " you can continue sidesinc after the call" or something like that. So I think its not possible.

I get the same effect on my s4 when I use sidesync that was downloaded from the market. When I used sidesync that I downloaded from a Web page I found, the calls would work through the tablet.
Problem is I have deleted the one I downloaded and can't remember where I got it from.

Wow! that would be cool so I won't always pickup my phone when someone calls me. Hope you can still find it and sahre it here mate.
Please can someonehelp me out. I have alowed my xperia m2 (d2303) to update from 4.3 to 4.4 which has caused my phone no end of problems.
I am trying to get the ftf so that I can flash it with the original jelly bean that worked so well. Could someone direct me to where I could get this file and some clear instuction on how to do this that even a novice like me can understand.

My first android experience was my xperia m2. With a bit of playing about I rooted it (using towelroot), installed super user, xposed, donkey guard and a bunch of other modules. As you can imagine for someone who is a novice and has no clue about coding, flashing, roms, ftf's, bootloaders, fastboots, anything like that. So I was quite pleased with myself that I could block permissons with donkey guard, and the look of my phone with gravity etc....
All was going well when I kept getting a "You have a system update" message telling me that a system update to 4.4 is now availible. So I allow it to install but it wouldn't work. So I figured that its because the phone is rooted, so I did a factory reinstall, flash whateveryou call it using sony pc companion. Once finished I tried to root again using towelroot but that didn't work, so I hunted all over the net to find a way of routing the m2 with 4.4 but wanted to avoid unlocking the bootloader as everything pointed towards that not being a good idea if you don't know what your doing. Nothing that I have found so far I can understand. So thats why I am wanting my old 4.3 back. I Was happy with it, but when I use pc companion to flash, it keeps putting the latest 4.4 software on.
As far as the tablet goes, I bought it a few weeks ago and as you know they come with 4.4 as standard. i quickly found a 1 click root method, rooted the tablet the installed superuser, busybox, then xposed and donkey guard etc.
I activated donkey guard and other modules in xposed and restarted etc.
I found that donkey guard would not work, nor would most of the other modules. One more thing that I found was that whenever I would shut down the tablet it would boot straight back up again and had to use the force off button next to the sd card to turn it off. So I flashed it again and went through the whole procedure again thinking that maybe I hade done something wrong, but got the same result. I did find out though through ellimination that the shut down issue was being caused by donkey guard being active, so if I deactivated it in xposed no more reboots. I thought that theproblem was with donkey guard and went though the donkey guard forum, but later dicovered that other modules are not working too. So I am not sure if the problems the tablet, 4.4 software, xposed, or something totally different, but all I know is that I was happy when everything worked on the m2 with 4.3, hence why the downgrade (if I can do it) of the M2 and not sure what the hell to do with the tablet.

I can't help you with your tablet.
For your phone download 4.3 CE as recommended above, it's a good one. I did that a couple of weeks ago and I will be sticking to it. The main disadvantage is the 4.3 camera.
Get xperifirm. Download any rom you like for your phone to your hearts content. It's really very easy.
Secondly, regarding root for 4.4, has anyone tried rooting on 4.3 then just letting update centre update the phone ota? It has worked for me on every Xperia I've had.

Success its worked like a dream. Had little issue with google not connecting but managed to bypass that by downloading a file explorer program from aptoide.

Here is a wififix and bluetooth fix for those having connection problems with ported S5 roms(especially those that came from korean base S5 firmwares) on our Note3.Tested on N9005 16gb hongkong.Install via recovery and make sure make a back up before installing.Let me know if it works for you.If the first version didn't worked, try the 2nd version
Yup it work now. You've found the missing link. Upon checking the zip, i found out that i only miss 1 files to fix the problem. Lol

The apns-conf is not really necessary I just add it there just incase someone with data connection problem wanna try it.

Someone posted adding this "ro.securestorage.support=false" build.prop, but one user said it didn't worked. My suggestion try a clean full wipe fresh install the rom you want then my wifi fix and then reboot.This method works for me and another user.
Many thanks, this fixed the Bluetooth for me (I'm on 4.4.4 Sprint port and had Bluetooth devices non-discoverable)

Thank you guys, I have my bluetooth to work again BUT connection to device (Gear S) is lost whenever the Gear S go out of range or when I reset the device. It seems that the Mobile Device (Note 3) have a very short term memory? BTW, my Note 3 used to work great with the Gear S without any single problem until I upgraded the Note 3 firmware to Lollipop Beta yesturday.
Any idea what problem it was?

v2 works great for n9005 flashes on a n900t as well

your fix for wifi,bt,nfc works great on a n9005 -> n900t flash... but for some reason im getting that error
am i possibly missing a library or csc info maybe?

I've got same problem with xiaomi MI band. It loses connection with Note 3. Dunno what is the problem

I used above url to download the Always on display app.
I got always on display option in display setting. I also got always on plugin in application manager .
Initially the always on display option is off but when i try to turn it on it says always on display has stopped. Im on stock unrooted rom with oct patch.
I hope AOD will be implemented in our s6 in future. Or if any developer can use that app to work it earlier..

Same here: Always On Display has stopped.
Hopefully this will get enabled sometime in the future, the description of the APK says : (AODService 1.3.14,1.4.02 is for the S6 and S7)

Yes, full stock
Yes! It does say for S6 & S7! I will try this on my rooted custom ROM. Don't think that will make a difference though.
Enabled storage permissions for it which were initially disabled, still not working.
Perhaps a new software update will enable and ship with AOD support in the kernel.
EDIT: Night clock seems to be working partially, when pressing home button/lock to turn on the screen I can see night clock before it unlocks the phone. Night clock does not show up while screen is off though.
Ive installed it as a system app. Set the correct permissions. I can configure the settings now without it crashing. But when it is activated and the screen turns off. Nothing happens.
@KennethHau @Shamako so now we just need backend support and i think it will be provided in next firmware update.

How did you get it to work?
I keep getting the "Always On Display has stopped" here.
If you install it as a system app. It work and shows that on settings. But when the screen is off nothing happens

In the TG group, they are saying it works on Edge version only and A8 port for Flat version. You might wanna give it a try.

It hasn't much sense what said about edge version.
This is an app, not something that comes built in the kernel. Edge and flat version are the same phone.
I don't know.. i'll wait because now i'm on alexis rom.
It works with 920F, but the Kernel doesnt fit. I have tried it. AOD works fine, but the Display driver works wrong (?) means if you strife left it goes right
Tried the fix with *#6233# but in this case it wont work!

Well.. let's wait if someone can make it work for our 920f
Edit: on which rom did you tried it?
On the Noble Note 7 V5 Rom, should also work with the new A8 Port.
